Kpop Dreams - Gdragon’s Concert Ft. His Mother

I knew I would have an either weird dream or a fantastic or a mix of both due to the fact that I slept pretty late the night before and my hormones are going crazy. 

The setting is either San Francisco State University or LA’s Staple center but now that I think about it, its probably SFSU because the venue had a cozier ambience that Ive only ever felt in one of the concert halls of SFSU. It was weird from start to finish.

Gdragon had a celebration concert to commence his last concert day IN SAN FRANCISCO. The reason being is that San Francisco is where he went to college (I never said it was true). So he got to hold his concert party in what looks like The Warfield? I’m not entirely sure because everything was very lucid. His party starts and I find my seat on the floor bleachers to the left side of the buidling and all of a sudden, Gdragon finishes his speech and comes to sit NEXT TO ME!!!! (Not fangirling I REPEAT NOT FANGURLLLING!) 

He doesn’t say anything. He just sits there watching the big screen. It should’ve been like a kdrama where the lead looks in awe at the person they love/like but nope; I missed my ONE SHOT (No pun intended). 

the next thing that happened was his mom came to the stage and I for some odd reason followed her onto the stage with Gdragon and “guided” them to their seats? I have no idea what I was doing at this part of my weird ass dream but I think I might’ve been a stage crew member? (Which I would love to actually be.)

Hello. I’m addressing, you. Yes, You. About the hatred towards fans that did (or still does) Whitewashing, or so much more.

I think before we blindly hating them in general, shall we take a look at some things that made them that way? This is about culture in general. We, International fans, become so accostumed on judging a different culture so easily. Do you know, that in Korea, or most areas in Asia, because how North America and West Europe countries dictating everything, like lifestyle in general, we then assumed that the standard of beauty is what appears in movies, thus, white pale skin. In Asia, whitening skin products sells like hell, and thus, this phenomenon happened.

Is it a right thing to do, Whitewashing? No. But, I’m just saying, we don’t have the right to judge people by your standard, without considering their background. Like, ‘Oh, why does that fanfiction stories only features small petite shy girl? Many people are not blablabla’ ‘Oh, why does those people are so inaccostumed by gays or skin exposure on girls?....’ ‘Why the heck those girls are so obsessed and protective towards those kids? ...’ Probably, because yes, most cultures in Asia are still stricken by common courtesy, religion, etc. Is it wrong? Yes and No. That’s their own belief, and unless its hurting others, that’s not our problem. Asians had the right to stumble in their own mistakes, and learn from them.

Do I disagree their whitewashing? Of course, I want Asians  to acknowledge themselves better, be proud of themselves. But this is me, disagreeing of people pinpointing others (and bashing) what they deemed is wrong. Just because you stan several groups watch several dramas and can say ‘Oppa saranghaeyo’, doesn’t justify you to judge a whole continent of mixed, rooted culture. That also goes with you judging others by their English speaking abilities.

They put up with shits and tolerate many western cultures, so DO put up with theirs if you want to actually be inside an Asian-Originated Fandom. Understand this.
