Some fanart from a few months ago, I really enjoyed the movie and I've had the soundtrack stuck in my head from day one. As soon as I had time I had to draw them.
ahem. hello :) how are you :) i hope you're having a wonderful day and it's not too hot where you are (i'm actively melting at work rn) and if you wanna could you maybe write a little mira-romance-tickle fight where they're "practicing" keeping up the human disguise in public situations under any circumstances and it escalates from there pretty please?
(i thought they were a funny duo and i looove mira but also i understand if it's a no because romance has like. zero personality lol i just like his hair tbh haha)
ERHJEJKREJKFRJK REY!!! :D I KNOW ITS SO GOOD KJEKRKEKRJEJKR
*clears throat* right, right- I'm great! :D I'm thriving today- been getting used to my new job and all that fun stuff! :D Oh friend, I'm #dying in this heat- winter can't get here fast enough!
AHHH! :D This is perfect! I've gotcha covered, friend! (Honestly same- I freaking ADORE Mira she is my queen, and while Romance doesn't have TOO much to go off that just gives me free wiggle room to write him however I want >:D)
CW: Mild violence (it's a demon/huntress ship, gotta expect a little bit), swearing
Ugh.
Kinda mean, but this was a demon. There were much worse sounds she’d associate with Saja’s Romance.
Right now the “heartthrob” of their rival group was sitting way too close, scrolling through his phone while occasionally cutting his eyes at her, a stupid dopey expression on his face that made her want to gag. When he caught her gaze he lingered, letting a slow, playful smile spill across his lips. “Hey.”
“Gross.” She rolled her eyes, and he snickered, returning to his phone. They were backstage of a famous variety show, the spot only secured after they agreed to co-star with the Saja boys. Zoey was on stage at the moment, standing between…god, what were their names? She couldn’t remember any of them beyond Jinu and-
“Heh, look. The fan’s want us married.” Romance stuck his phone in her face, showing some fan edit thrown together from their signing fiasco. Just like now, he was invading her space, and just like now, she looked ready to break his neck. “We should take a photo together. Feed the fans.”
“I’d rather choke on my tongue.” She growled, elbowing him. He didn’t even react, nor did he move away. “Heard of personal space? There’s no one here to show off for.”
“I know. I just find you…intoxicating.” He leaned forward again-
“Back off, simp!” She thumped his forehead, sending him flailing backwards. Surely she hadn’t hit him that hard? Then she remembered he wasn't human and her sympathies faded. “What’s with you? Are all you demons this clingy?”
“Isn’t that what humans do?” He answered her question with one of his own, the mark from her powerful flick already gone. “I am Romance. This is what romance is, yeah?”
“For someone who feels the same, maybe. I don’t. I never will.” She added for extra emphasis, glaring daggers at him. “You’re way too invasive. It comes off more like an obsessed freak than a genuine crush.”
Why was she helping him? Maybe her pity for flicking him was stronger than she thought. The demonic idol looked thoughtful, folding his arms against the couch. “Hmm..I’ll have to keep that in mind. Hey, what’s a simp?”
A squeal made them both look up, staring at the screen showing the main stage. Mira’s hands were twitching for her weapon until she saw it.
“Aww! Isn’t that sweet? Huntrix’s Zoey is ticklish!” The host energetically announced to the crowd, earning a series of laughs and affectionate applause from the fans. Zoey herself didn’t seem too embarrassed, laughing along with them while the Saja members with her watched on. Mira swore she saw Bangs’ smiling at her when she wasn’t looking.
“Are we all gonna do that?” Romance’s question made her look back, finding him sitting by with a curious head tilt. “The whole tickling thing?”
“Probably. This seems to be a common thing for these kinds of shows.” Once again the TV pulled their attention. As if to back up her answer, a replay of Zoey grabbing Bangs from behind and tickling him was shown. He had all but jumped out of his skin with a loud laugh, earning even more praise from the fans. Even the barefaced demon looked amused. “Looks like it’s for some sort of game.”
“Ah…” Was that hesitation in his voice? Mira never thought she'd hear it. Her eyes narrowed as she looked at him, watching his expression become one of nerves. “I guess we’re all doing it then.”
“Yeah, but it’s just tickling. It won’t kill you.” She wished it would. Stupid as it was, anything to take out their kind was worth it in her book. Still, he looked so nervous out of nowhere. She had to ask. “What, you don’t like being tickled?”
“I..don’t know.” He confessed, making her brows raise. “I’ve never been tickled.”
“...Huh?”
“Yeah, I’m usually the one doing the tickling. You saw Mystery just now, he’s got some great reactions. Him and Jinu, but me..” He met her jaw slacked gaze, and suddenly he got that stupid look in his face again. “Oh! You can help me!”
“Huuuuh?”
“Your jaw slack face is rather cute. I could help you close it.” He was suddenly right there, barely a centimeter between them as his fingers took her chin, closing her mouth with a gentle touch. “Perfect.”
She had his wrist twisted and him to the floor in seconds. “Now it’s perfect.”
“Ouch, you’re hurting me.” He didn’t sound the slightest bit in pain, face to the floor and body trapped by her hold. He peeked up at her through his vibrant locks, smiling cheekily. “So? Gonna tickle me now?”
“I never agreed to do that.”
“You want to though.”
“I don’t.”
“Do to.”
“I-” Oh she was going to kill him. Pissed off, she dropped to the ground so she was kneeling beside his vulnerable state, her free hand hovering over his side. Was she really going to do this? Part of her knew she should just walk away, and yet..
“I won’t bite. Unless you want me to.” Romance waggled his brows, the gesture so utterly stupid she decided she should give into his request. If anything, just to erase the mental image of him doing that.
“Oo, finally gonna do it, are you? I knew you couldn’t resist. I’m too temp-EHEHEHE!” A loud startled cackle ripped from his throat, her fingers just barely touching down on his ribs. Mira once again found herself sitting there with raised brows. Romance himself seemed just as shocked, eyes wide as he stared from her hand to her face.
There was a tense silence, then..
“Wahahahit, wait wait waha-AHAHHAIT!” The demon screeched when her fingers touched down once more, this time intentional. “HUHUHUHUTRESS NOHOHOHOO!”
“You told me to tickle you. How are you reacting this hard when I barely touched you?” She mused, ignoring the nickname thrown her way. She tried a few things, methods she knew had the girls screaming for mercy whenever they dared challenge her to a tickle war. Light prods, quick skitters, intentional digs- she walked her hand all across his torso in search of reactive spots.
She was far from disappointed. It seemed Romance’s entire torso was a hot spot.
“EHEHHAHAHAHA! GAHAHHHAAHHAHA! NEHEHEHE! NEEHHEOHOOHOHOHO!” The demon thrashed and flailed beneath her, his laughter a series of screechy notes and stupid noises. His hair acted as a natural blindfold, preventing him from seeing her next move. His feet kicked like a dog getting a good scratch, flailing even harder when she ran her manicured nails along the outskirts of his exposed belly. “STAHHAAP I CANNAAH’T! I’M GONAHAHANA DIE!”
“You’re a demon. How are you going to die?” She tsked, and yet her hand retracted immediately. A physical instinct- she always did so the second the girls said “stop”.
Unfortunately for her, that applied to her other hand too.
Romance moved fast. In a matter of seconds, Mira found herself pinned to the ground with the giggly demon above her, nose to nose as he slowly composed himself. “Gohohot you now!” With that as his only warning, his icy hands grabbed her sides, poking and kneading quickly.
And Mira..didn’t react. She had to admit, the technique was solid. She could see it working on Rumi or Zoey. Romance’s devious grin slowly faded as he realized she wasn’t laughing, his hands slowing to a stop. “You're not…?”
Instead of answering, she grabbed his ribs again, making him squeal like a child and flail off of her, curling up. Her lips pulled into a smirk before she could stop herself, amused despite knowing better. “You’re gonna die out there.”
“Shush! I’m not-well, okay maybe.” He pouted, the look somehow still coming out like a smolder. “I know what to expect now. I can control my reactions.”
“Given what just happened, I highly doubt it.” Against her better judgement, she reached out and poked his side.
Instead of a screech of laughter, Romance merely huffed out a chuckle. He caught her hand, interlacing their fingers and bringing it to his lips.
“Thanks for the help, by the way.” Be spoke against her skin, his frozen lips brushing against her knuckles. His sharp teeth grazed her skin, sending shivers all over.
Naturally, her first response was to sucker punch him in the nose. So she did.
“You sure love hitting on me, don’t you?” He laughed despite it all, smoothing out his previously crooked nose with a laugh. “It’s hot. I like it.”
“Fuck off.” She got up, smoothing out her clothes. As she turned to leave, it escaped. “Don’t change your laugh.”
“...Huh?” Romance sounded bewildered. She felt rather unprepared herself.
“The fans want to hear us being genuine. That huff thing- it’s fine, but it’s not real.” With that, she kept walking, nodding at the stagehand gesturing for them to be ready as she headed out. In a matter of seconds, Romance had caught up with her.
“I’ll keep that in mind.” He whispered low in her ear, making her skin prickle pleasantly. “Though I think I’ll stick my new laugh. I only want you to know about my real one.”
He was gone before she could come to a stop, letting it all sink in. She barely registered Zoey approaching, her warm hands finding Mira’s. “You good? You look..”
“Demon’s are shit.” She replied flatly, making her friend laugh. “Give them hell for me, will ya?”
On stage, Romance’s laugh was light and airy, the kind most would expect from him when tickled. Only Mira seemed to know the truth.
