What happened with beyond canon? I’m out of date. The last panel I even looked at basically confirmed June Egbert would be making an appearance.

Submissions are broken on mobile, for me. I no longer see the little + bubble for submitting. And the desktop submit link doesn’t work :( it keeps asking me to log in, when I’m already logged in.

Huh, that's very odd! Unfortunately, there isn't anything we can do about it - we're Tumblr users just like you, so all we have control over is whether the submit box is enabled. We recommend filing a bug report directly with Tumblr so they can hopefully fix it!

Was there any specific reason given as to why Raz isn’t able to use Shield and Invisibility in Psychonauts 2?

My headcanon is that using those abilities causes the user to become more isolated and solipsistic, hence why we see the coach using the shield in the lungfish mind.

Maybe that’s why we don’t see anyone using them in PN2? Because those are the kinds of abilities only found in younger psi-cadets who aren’t well adjusted yet? And becoming a full fledged psychonaut means making more connections with other minds, branching out, exposing vulnerabilities and in general Not self isolating?

So as you mature, you naturally lose the ability to do those things. If you’re well adjusted and making connections with lots of other minds.

In PN1 it’s noted that Raz has extremely strong mental defenses by the coach and his dad. By allowing others past his outer shell and defeating his trauma, he changes as a person. Notably no longer engaging in animal cruelty.

I’m interested to hear your thoughts on this theory. Or to blow it out of the water with whatever canon I missed haha

I personally feel like the concept of losing psychic abilities like that seems like it'd be a disservice to the utility shields and invisibility would have out in the field for psychic agents

plus I thiiiiiiink the reason Raz can't use those abilities in game is because interns are only allowed to use powers they have in their little approved merit badges

which, to be fair, Raz does have those merit badges

so it's a little in-universe confusing

but like, I've been trying to think of a response to this and coming up flat so that's what you get, oops

anyways, last thought, even though I THINK it's just the lighting here, the first few times I saw this cutscene

I thought Raz was using invisibility (I think also the transparency to see all of him gives the impression). in a situation where he's already doing a Bad Thing. so I think he still has the abilities he's just not allowed to use them and beyond this point is a good little boy about it

I thought the Kris where the fuck are we meme was based directly on the game and chapter 2 was gonna end with them going through the closet portal and her saying that when they landed in an unfamiliar dark world.

If I have a creature with indestructible that takes what would otherwise be lethal damage, and then later in the same turn loses that ability, does it die?

Yes.

Damage stays marked on creatures until the cleanup step. If a creature loses indestructible while having lethal damage already marked on it, it will die the next time state-based actions are checked.

It won’t die if it previously took damage from a source with deathtouch in the turn, though, as the check for deathtouch damage only applies to the next time state-based actions are checked after the damage is dealt.

If I control a Rhox faithmender and cast resolute archangel, what would my life total become? Does this count as "gaining" life? Related note: casting magister sphinx while I've got exquisite blood on the field triggers its "lose" life effect, no?

It depends on what your life total was when you began.

When your life total is set to a particular value, you gain or lose enough life so that your life total would become that value without any effects changing the amount of life gained or lost. 

Rhox Faithmender will double whatever amount of life you gain here. So, for example, if you were at 15 life, you’d need to gain 5 life to go to 20 life and Rhox Faithmender would double that 5 to 10, putting you at 25 life. Similarly, if you were at 10, you’d gain twice the normal 10 and go to 30.

(Yes, this counts as gaining or losing life for the sake of triggered abilities.)
