Thian & Yang: "I know this drama isn't as popular but legit they are the best brothers I can't even. The fact that even as children they were so close and supportive. They have different mums and were raised to compete with each other, constantly told to hate the other, but the whole time they stuck by each other. And Yang is so damn protective of Thian and Thian will stand up for Yang and the whole series I'm waiting for the classic 'bros are close, need drama/misunderstanding so they fight' but it never happened?? Thian was literally engaged to the girl Yang loved but they openly communicate the whole time, work together find way out of it. And then Thian dealing with the whole sexuality and the coming out scene where he can't say the words and he doesn't need to bc Yang knows and he doesn't care, he makes sure Thian knows he's loved and he'll do anything to protect Thian's secret and be there for him. I just love them so much and they balance each other so well and I love how they could be interesting and complex characters with great plot and there wasn't a forced third act argument for drama. their mums did all the hating, but those bros stood by each other every step of the way."

Kuafah & Daonuea: "I think khuafah is a really good older brother. He shows up for his brothers events and knows about the things going on in his life, even tho he’s way older and busy with his job he still checks in with daonuea and knows what’s happening in his life. Daonuea also is a very good brother and you can tell he really cares for khuafah. From the way he calls him and checks in routinely and tells him not to drive if he’s too drunk. Their relationship feels very genuine and loving. Also I’m pretty sure they’re half brothers but it’s never weird between them and they don’t treat each other any less because of it."

Look, I am already in love with everything about Star and Sky: Star in my Mind. Joong is handsome and wistful. Dunk is adorably dorky. Their interactions are wonderful.

And then fucking Mek/Fah walking in like the Daddy™ that he is. And then taking care of his baby Dao. In that all black outfit. I'm done.

I’m getting on here to talk about a BL, which I haven’t done in a while.

Episode 3 of Sky in Your Heart came out today and boy do I have some things to say.

An obvious spoiler warning if you aren’t caught up yet!

I really just want to talk about the kiss because I’ve seen at least one other person talking about how lackluster it is and how it’s not even really kissing. I disagree. I look at more than lip movement.

The moments before the kiss included some really beautiful moments of skinship and eye contact, which I always think leads up to a really passionate kiss scene (again, not based on how much the lips are moving).

You can see in Prince’s eyes in that last screenshot that he wants something to happen.

It goes like this (just looking at Prince’s facial expressions):

Now onto the actual kiss…

I can’t just screenshot every single frame from the scene, but I captured these three moments which I think can help prove my point.

There’s not a whole lot of lip movement in this kiss and I think because some of us BL fans have watched some other series like Taiwanese BL’s, we expect bigger kisses and more intense chemistry, but what I personally love about Thai BL’s like this one is the subtle chemistry that leads up to a moment like this.

I do consider this kiss to be a passionate one for the sole reason that you can tell they both want it by looking at their eyes the entire time.

Also, let’s not forget that this is episode 3 and there’s still more to come. This couple only just started coming together, so we can’t expect a full on makeout sesh right off the bat (although I don’t entirely expect one at all). I also don’t think ANY series needs a huge makeout session to make it great. I think SIYH is on the right track.

I’m just surprised it happened so quick since Prince seemed kind of oblivious to certain feelings. However, I’m not at all disappointed because I feel like they compliment each other well and have very similar personalities. Insanely similar, actually. I think they challenge each other well and have some really good back and forth banter.

ALSO!! Forgot to mention that the music in the scene really enhances the moment beautifully!

Yoo & Vee: "Yoo did not have time for Vee's bullshit, yet somehow always made time for Vee's bullshit. Yoo was the older gay son who prepared his family for everything that was about to come their way when Vee, in a long-term relationship with his girlfriend, drunkenly slept with rich boy Mark. Yoo was the sole witness to Mark and Vee's chaotic morning after, but made sure to tell his little brother to do right by Ploy and Mark and make a decision. Yoo teased Vee when Mark made a sober appearance at the house, and gave neither boys peace when they finally became an item. If only we had gotten Yoo's sequel "Call My Name" so we could see how Vee would act seeing his brother fall in love."

I’ve been really enjoying Star in my Mind so far, but my favorite thing about today’s ep besides Kleun’s clear smitten face and jealousy was how, when Daonuea was like, “oh, you recognized Kleun?” after telling his brother that he’d run into him, Fah was just like, “the guy who broke your heart and made you cry?  of course I recognized him” with like so much love and affection for his brother.  It’s not like I was surprised that Fah knew about Kleun or how Daonuea felt/feels, I just love how it shows how close they are and that Fah would always be on his side.
