IT'S NOT ENOUGH YOU FILTHY SMILEY FACE
Meme: top 5 fics according to kudos
@indiefic made me do it.
1. Flames We Never Lit (2,193)
Peggy Carter is frozen in 1946 and awakened by SHIELD in 2012. Far and away the most well-loved thing I've done in this fandom, and rightly so. This beast took me two years and countless hours of research to write. It’s basically my graduate thesis in MCU Studies.
2. Ain't Love a Kick (819)
Steve wakes up after the crash to find his life has changed dramatically - the main change being, he's married to Peggy Carter.
This one being second surprised me! It's not even finished, but clearly this story speaks to people. Amnesia in fiction is one of my very favourite plot devices, so this story is a labour of love (pun intended, but you have to read the story to get it). And it’s very, very close to being finished. I promise.
3. Five Minutes More (712)
Steve's first meetings with some of the characters in Agent Carter - and a few other firsts as well.
This was a short series I wrote on my phone between meetings during an extremely busy work week. Honestly, I think the reason it took off the way it did was @reena-jenkins‘s outstanding podfic. Her comedic timing made me laugh out loud at lines I wrote. Which is the height of self-indulgence, but what can I say.
4. Love Set You Going (683)
After Steve's plane goes down, Peggy discovers she's pregnant.
I'm pretty sure about 500 of these kudos are @indiefic, somehow. I don’t know how you beat the system, but well done.
5. The Simple Secret (558)
Peggy joins Steve and the Howling Commandos on a mission.
I'm glad people love this story! I love this story too! It's one of the best things I've written in this fandom, and possibly anywhere ever. I wrote the first third of it on my phone while standing at a bus stop, in the rain, waiting for a friend who’d forgotten to pick me up. @infinitypeggys commissioned this amazing illustration of the story (NSFW) as a birthday gift, because clearly we have reached the stage of friendship where you can give each other porn and not have it be weird.
Tagged: Everyone. Do it.
Procrastinating writing by scrolling through my dash and saw @alchemistc ‘s most about the top 5 / bottom 5 kudos meme. I’m a sucker for a good meme, and also, well, procrastinating writing. This was.... interesting.
Top 5:
1703 - the trouble with faking it (okay, this one, not so surprising)
699 - these nights aren’t made for thinking (my first cs fic so this warms my black little heart)
602 - chaos is a ladder (LOL what)
576 - the difficult kind
414 - a change in the wind (yeah, i still hate this one, but at least 414 of you don’t, so that’s cool)
Bottom 5:
0 - afraid of the dark (aka, the twilight fic that i should probs just take down)
20 - the assignment (more bad twilight fic)
70 - private conversation (bad cs fic)
74 - game changer (i miss you, annie walker)
76 - these nights aren’t made for thinking outtake
This was both nice (seriously, you jonerys people are awesome and making writing in a new fandom far less scary) and a good opportunity to laugh at myself remembering some of the truly awful shit i’ve written.
I was tagged by @wheres-your-rum to do the Top 5/Bottom 5 Kudos meme, thanks my dear! I did this recently but hey let’s do it again! (also I only did Rebelcaptain, since my Frozen/Kristanna fics would consistently be in the bottom 5)

What are your five most popular works? (in descending order)
5) Blow Me (2769 words, rated NC-17)
“So, hey, listen,” Barton begins in that slow, easy drawl of his as his fingers twist the cap back onto the bottle, “I was thinking. You got me off the other night, and I didn’t really get to return the favor. I kinda hate owing people stuff, so why don’t we knock off early, go back to your place and I’ll get on my knees and blow you.”
(This is a Part II fic)
4) Forevermore (3262 words, rated PG-13)
When his eyes landed on a tall, dark-haired man with brooding blue-grey eyes, he felt something in his stomach curl, sparking desire that spread across him, leaving lingering warmth in its wake. He managed to extract himself from his friends’ grasps and made his way over to where the man stood, his shoulder resting against the wall. Their eyes met, and one corner of the man’s mouth curved upward, causing that warmth inside Robin to ramp up to nearly an inferno.
“Guy,” he said, his voice husky and tinged with lust.
(Modern AU. Robin is an SAS officer, Guy is a police sergeant.)
3) Trouble (2486 words, rated NC-17)
As the door swung closed behind Barton with a quiet click, Phil exhaled a breath he hadn’t even realized he was holding. That kid was going to be trouble, he knew it.
(AU look at how Phil might've recruited Clint to SHIELD)
(This is Part I, followed by its sequel, Blow Me)
2) Inopportune Timing (5792 words, rated R)
Erik meets Charlotte immediately before the events of X-Men: First Class in a pub. Raven dared her good sister to spend one entire day without using her powers completely. Ergo, Charlotte has no idea Erik is a mutant when they meet (or rather when she spills her drink on him by accident) and the two have a one night stand. Charlotte is pregnant during the movie, Erik doesn't know
1) Jewel of the Realm (5396 words, rated PG-13)
There's something odd about their new crew member, Emmet, but Killian can't quite put his finger on what. He's determined to figure it out though. Is the man a fugitive? The answer may yet surprise the young lieutenant (and possibly change his world).
(a/n: the top two fics are not a surprise. It astounds me how people seem to keep finding Inopportune Timing because I wrote it years ago, lol. But I’m flattered :D)
What are your five least popular works by kudos? (in ascending order)
1) No Romance Here (586 words, rated NC-17)
Niki isn't looking for love, she's just got an itch to scratch. (Set in the Five Years Gone AU)
2) Solitary (1658 words, rated R)
It’s a cold, cruel business, assassination
3) Snake in the Bedroom (779 words, rated NC-17)
Written for Round Two of klainemadness; the prompt was write a story using at least four words chosen by the mods. My words were rental, pond, sugar, snake.
4) Coffeeshop Resonance (523 words, rated G)
Kurt and Blaine in a coffeeshop. It's no Lima Bean, but it'll do.
5) DUI Class Date (300 words, rated PG)
Rhodey receives a text from Tony that reads "This lady in my dui class just asked what patron was. I feel like she doesn't belong here."
(a/n: Ouch, not even one kudo for the first fic. I’m not surprised though; three of those fics are ones I’ve considered deleting because they’re not my best work.)
