Kun’s S/O has been taking Chinese to surprise him and he finds out (soft)
“This is a sofa.” You mumbled in Chinese, going over the words you had been studying the last few days. You could tell the lessons you had been taking and the studying you had been doing was really paying off, it made you really happy. Your efforts were a small attempt to get closer to Kun, to understand him better and make him even more comfortable with you.
Walking around the apartment, you pointed to the cup. “That is a cup... would you like a cup of coffee?” You asked in Chinese, speaking to yourself. Sure the words were basic but you had just started. You had to pace yourself.
“I would love a cup of coffee.” He wasn’t supposed to be home yet, but his voice surprised you. What surprised you more though, was that you understood his response. “You’ve been studying Chinese?” He asked, eyes wide as you turned around. You couldn’t miss his grin either, reminding you why you made the choice to take lessons in the first place. “I have, but I’ve only taken a few classes...” You explained, feeling his hands find your waist and pull you closer.
“I have a bunch more coming up.The goal is to be fluent... or at least fluent enough to be able to speak with you in Chinese.” You admitted... even though this wasn’t the way you wanted to tell him. Kun was absolutely glowing at this. He never expected this but he sure did appreciate it.
Pulling you along, he sat you both down on the sofa with you on top of him. “Why are you learning Chinese?” He asked, brushing the hairs from your face while continuing to smile at you. “Well... I want to make you comfortable. I just want you to be able express yourself fully to me.” You admitted, your own hands moving to hold his. “I’ll try my best.” You said in Chinese, feeling like the sentence was structure was wrong but still feeling like he understood.
Kun stifled a laugh, knowing you were indeed trying but finding the sentence funny either way. He couldn’t quite put into words how much this meant to him. Someone putting in all that effort to understand him more, it just meant so much.
“Don’t laugh. Chinese is really difficult.” You pouted, leaning forward to wrap your arms around his neck and hug him. “I’m not laughing, I’m not I swear. You’re already doing a good job.” He paused, feeling himself almost get choked up. You could see his eyes getting glassy, his hands moving from your face down to your waist. He hugged you back, pulling you as close as he possibly could because he just wanted to feel you.
“I love you.” You said softly in Chinese, making him chuckle a little before throwing his head back. “I love you too.” He said in return before clearing his throat. “I can be a good tutor, you know?” He insinuated, raising an eyebrow coupled with a cocky smile. “I don’t doubt that. I do doubt that I’ll get anything done with you being my tutor though.” You responded, hands moving down the front of his shirt to play with the fabric. Kun shook his head before kissing the tip of your nose.
“No, no. I’m a good teacher. I can be pretty influential.”
A/N: This totally wasn’t self serving or anything 👀 anyways, I was studying all day for my Chinese written exam tomorrow and this was my little break. Ever since he posted the vlog my brain has been on him and well WayV is one of the reasons I chose to learn Chinese (they were a large influence on me becoming interested in the culture) and so I wrote this.
I hope others enjoy it too!
