Another short story, this time about Kunol and the Thunderjaws, a tribe of orcs in my story and my D&D campaign. Here’s how they came about! My goal in writing this was to again emulate the “god-protected hero” trope, but also try and write something where “you,” the reader, is addressed and assumed to be part of the culture of the narrator. Was an interesting thing to work with, for sure. Anyway, thanks for reading!
Kunol and his yet-unnamed husband and elf-orc kid. His name means “rabbit” in Orc for very clear reasons. Kunol occupies a bit of a legendary status in this story I’m working on--he’s the progenitor of the Thunderjaw tribe, a tribe that believes they’re all the descendants of a half-elf-half-orc.
Kunol is quite short, by the way--his husband is seated in this sketch.
