Kurobi drove in after the yellow human, a death sentence for a pitiful creature. A human against a fishmen in the water, their element was going to be far too easy. He was admittedly surprised at just how far the human had already swam, but he could see him just ahead, flouting and waiting for him. A luring song tickled his ears, and a dread pooled in his belly. It couldn't be!
When the human turned around, he no longer looked human. His mouth had grown, a grin split open his face from ear to ear, as rows of sharp teeth taunted him. His eyes darker the stormy water, eyes hungry and cold. Dark blue scales dotted along his cheeks and forehead. His long hair had come undone, a crown above his head. What was a siren doing here in the weakest sea? They were rare enough to be considered a myth among men.
Kurobi tried to turn away, but his body refused to listen, already caught in the sirens trap. Every fishmen and mere grew up with warnings about the sirens, and now he was going to live them out…for as long as the siren let him live, that is. He watched as the siren hands gripped his arms, its sharp talons digging into his flesh, drawing blood. He looked over at the hand that held him before looking back in time to watch the siren dart closer. Its sharp teeth ripped out his gills.
Kurobi opened his mouth to scream, unable to utter a sound. He was helpless as his gills were ripped out on the other side of his throat. He was going to drown, dying in the depths of the sea. A fishman drowning was humiliating. Kurobi was leaving his comrades to the mercy of the siren as consiones began to leave his body.
For all the crap that 4Kids gets, I’ll always remember the commercial where the chef from Kirby got into fight with one of the fish men from One Piece, and always hope that I’ll find that commercial online someday.
