Kuro 140′s Oopsie Rectified
I think many people already noticed or even pointed it out, but in the magazine publication of chapter 140, Yana accidentally made O!Ciel call his demon by the name ‘Sebastian’, even though the naming was not supposed to have happened yet in the timeline.
In the volume 28 however, Yana’s mistake was rectified ^^

Another small detail that was changed was Sebastian’s text (circled in blue). Though the spoken words are the same, the script in which ‘nan’ was written was changed from ‘hiragana’ into ‘kanji’. (TLN: Japanese has 3 writing systems: ‘hiragana’, ‘katagana’ and ‘kanji’.)
By using ‘kanji’ to write words that can otherwise be written in ‘hiragana’, the user expresses a certain ‘status’ to their language. It is a way to show off linguistic expertise, so to say. As such, simply by changing the script of ‘nan’ from hiragana (なん) into ‘kanji’ (何), Sebastian is given a subtle extra layer of being an old-fashioned person, as well as a bit of a ‘show-off’.
In my opinion, this extra layer is PERFECT for young Sebastian whose attitude was even grander than nowadays - thanks to a certain influential actor whose name I shall not mention.
I am not saying that someone who uses ‘kanji’ is old-fashioned or a show-off! I am simply saying that this small change adds a nuance through comparison!
So, the official English Comic volume 28 will be released on the 29th of October 2019. Let me know if the mistake is also rectified there! (*´▽｀*)ノ)))
