Ok since-- I have another ask that wants Kise I'll just answer Grimm with this one because believe me it will be long enough. uwu
Haha....How do I even begin? Ok, (Begin ramble) let's take 0.2 to blow over his physical attraction because yes everyone knows Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez is one sexy motherfucker. Now, moving past that. To put it simply I am captivated by him. Every aspect screams power and domination and arrogance and he's so full of himself but it's like none of that even matters when he's fighting.
Sure, Grimmjow has no problem with proclaiming that he's stronger than someone but that's not his goal. It's not his motive--whereas say, Nnoitra fights to prove his strength. For Grimmjow, fighting is his passion and he'll do anything to live neck deep in it. I respect that. I respect his ability to bypass any and all ruling, and even putting himself in danger for the sake of doing what makes him-- for lack of a better word-- happy.
I admire his confidence, I'd love to possess even an inkling of it. His perception, his intelligence and just overall fire that seems to burn within him. He's a villain, yeah. He's the 'badboy', sure. But he's also a being that, knows exactly what he wants. Just think about that. Grimmjow doesn't give a fuck who's looking at him, or thinking badly of him. He does what he wants because he wants to-- half of which are things he himself doesn't even understand the motive to but that doesn't matter to him. He doesn't care why because he's confident enough to know there's absolutely nothing wrong with going after what makes you thrive. And fuck that's just admirable.
Going off of what I said about his lack of desire to pursue his motives, I ultimately believe that to be a sort of--double-edged Achilles heel. What I mean by that is. He gets so caught up in winning and fighting and letting his years as an Adjuchas paint his view on the world he doesn't stop to think that perfection is an unattainable goal. He's never going to truly be the best and I believe no amount of losing in a fight will get that through his head.
His insufferable stubborn nature would be the only thing I could classify as a 'dislike' of him, even though really it's more of an opportunity for growth. I truly hope he has the ability to, even on an internal level, achieve a level of character development where he realizes this. If he were to do so I think it'd only make him stronger.
Ichigo and only Ichigo and if you want to know why well, that's an entirely different can of worms but let me just say this-- canon hand-holders.
Favorite scene/panel of them:
Every one with Ichigo and him. The scene where he 'saves' Orihime from Menoly and Loly. It's such an overlooked area of his character. Here he comes, on his way to essentially kidnap his ally's prisoners because Ichigo needs healing and she's the only one that can do that. However, upon arrival he realizes well fuck someone's going to kill her. So, instead of just brushing Orihime off when she asks him 'Why' he gives her the response "for healing my left arm", as if he had intended to save her when really, he was fitting the means necessary to achieve his own agenda. It's such quick thinking on his part, such subtle manipulation and I think he deserves more credit for that.
GrimmHime and GrimmUlqui.
Grimmjow and Renji because like wow I just think in this arc they'd annoyingly get along? And maybe they can gang up on Ichigo and make fun of him but then Grimm can get annoyed like no my Kurosaki you stay away and have the "Only I can say that shit to him" mentality. //aggressively shoves my shipping needs into this.
