Tomb of Tutankhamun (KV62). The story of Howard Carter’s discovery of the tomb of the boy-king Tutankhamun (Nebkheperure) in 1922 is well known, and it could be said that it is more interesting than the tomb itself. The north wall shows Ay, wearing the royal crown, performing the rituals before the young king’s mummy. The reason for Ay's presence here is for two reasons: The first is that he is considered a priest of the Holy of Holies - Thebes, and the second: he is the uncle of Ankhesenamun and her children, wife Tutankhamun, and he is a Cousin of Queen Tiye mother of Akhnaten the father of Ankhesenamun.
