ZOMBIES 4 (2025) dir. Paul Hoen
Now this is a great shot —disneychannel (Instagram)
can i just say... i quite enjoyed zombies 4: dawn of the vampires? i was a bit hesitant at first (i'm not the biggest fan of change, thanks, hate to see the og's go) and to be honest after rise of red i was not feeling the continuation. but i was pleasantly surprised! here are some thoughts nobody asked for:
malachi and freya had some INSANE chemistry. i was cheering for a kiss by the end. we did not get it. fine. zombies 5?
i was worried about meg and milo's chemistry for absolutely no reason. they're too cute. zeddison 5ever and i need the wedding milo has promised us. i could watch them hold hands and look at each other on a loop. (meglo forever!) (mostly platonically) (but a little romantically) (but obviously meg has a boyfriend and they're adorable)
i wish eliza and willa could have done a bit more, but i get that a big plot point was to "pass the torch" as they say. i did enjoy their "core 4" friendship vibes, though i missed wynter and wyatt and bonzo and bree and even bucky, whom i adore. willa is just honestly one of my favorite characters and watching chandler on dwts this past season (ROBBED, btw) made me love her even more.
vargas had my entire heart from beginning to end. he's legit so cool. i want to be him.
ray? could have done without him. he made me mad.
vera? same. i came around towards the end but why she gotta be eavesdropping and not listening to the whole conversation? do it right please.
i'll admit the trailer had me SO confused as to what the entire plot of the movie was. don't know what i expected but the first thirty minutes of the movie i was at a loss for how anything seen in the trailer was going to fit in. don't worry, it's fine, it all worked out, but i was lost for a bit.
the songs were... actually fire???? the "someday" and "ain't no doubt about it" reprises made me cry like a little baby. i LOVED nova's solo song (that girl can SING, holy) and "place to be" was not as over hyped as i thought it would be. i'm glad i avoided listening to it as much as possible so i had fresh ears when hearing it!
costuming was flawless, I loved nova and addison's outfits... though why did they have addison go back to white hair? that confused me. and zed had a couple questionable styling choices, now that i think about it, but other than that, amazing
the dance breaks were SO COOL. i don't remember what song it is (sue me) but it's when zed's with the daywalkers and addison's with the vampires and they're on the beach going to the tunnels - cinematography was on point
hated nova's dad, hated victor's aunt. enough said.
the plot both made sense but also had some weird pacing issues? maybe there was more detail that got cut along the way?? I just wanted more, I think
can we talk about the way my heart stopped when zed was DYING??????????? if they had killed him off- I would have- unacceptable. then they just started partying?? I was like, okay...
i'm pretty sure that's all I have to say. a bit incoherent, really unnecessary, just wanted to swoon over zed/addison and victor/freya. all in all, would watch again (probably will sometime soon tbh), recommend! as a whole, i'd give this movie a... 7. or an 8. somewhere in there.
Supernatural Homecoming 💙💚🏈
@school-spirits Spirit Week 7: Alternate Universe
School Spirits x Zombies
Info and warnings: This takes place in season 1 of School Spirits at the homecoming game, in Zombies it takes place in between Zombies 2 and 3, (before Addison discovers she's 1/3 alien) by the way I have no idea really what a homecoming game is it’s not a thing in Australia so if details are wrong, sorry in advance, school spirits season 1 spoilers
Summary: Split River High plays Seabrook High in the senior homecoming game, revealing supernatural secrets.
The metaphysical world shifted the day Maddie arrived. The mystery surrounding her death was all anyone could talk about. Days go by without discovery of a body, the blood smeared walls of the boiler room the only sign that anything had even happened to Maddie.
Homecoming was just around the corner and today they would announce what school the Split River Bandits will be facing.
Excitement filled Wally’s body. Homecoming was his glory. Sure, he did die at his homecoming game in 1983, but he still to this day- forty years later- had the same excitement as he did back then- even if he didn’t really like playing the sport.
The gymnasium doors swung open. Students and members of faculty filled the vast space of the gym, sitting on chairs placed facing the stage. The ghosts- who had just wrapped up a meeting of the Split River afterlife support group-walked along the sidelines. Wally, Maddie and Charley stayed for the announcement, while Rhonda and the other ghosts left using the side entrance door.
Principal Hartman stepped on stage; he tapped the microphone to make sure it was turned on, hoping the static noise would quieten everyone down. “Good afternoon students. The all-important homecoming game is next week and the team the Split River Bandits will face is The Seabrook High Mighty Shrimps.”
A gasp filled the air with murmuring beginning to fill the gym. A student stood abruptly from his seat “Isn’t that the school that is full of those freaks?”
“We don’t use that word here, but the school does have students and players that have… uh… special abilities. But rest assured the principal of Seabrook High has assured me that they will not be a problem. But just in case there will be special safety zones set up for everyone.” Principal Hartman announced. “Now, let's give it up for our Split River cheer team”
After the announcement, Wally, Maddie and Charley left the gym. A puzzled look across Maddie’s face. “What did that kid mean by ‘freaks’? Am I missing something?”
Walking the empty halls heading towards the library, Wally looked over at Maddie. “Haven’t you heard about Seabrook?” Maddie shook her head. “Well, it’s a small town and like fifty years ago they had some explosion at some factory then people literally turned into zombies. At first, they were shut out of town until a couple of years ago. Now zombies are accepted in the town as well as werewolves.”
“Zombies and werewolves, for real?” Maddie questioned.
“Well ghosts aren’t a thing that should exist but here we are. I guess that’s the same for zombies and werewolves.” Charley shrugged stepping into the library making a beeline for the couches.
“Just when I thought things couldn’t get weirder, they just did.” Maddie said sitting next to Charley on the couch.
Wally walked towards the shelves of library books; he returned with a book “Here read this.” He passes the hard cover book to Maddie titled ‘the history of Seabrook’. “It’s all in there. Answers to the questions you probably have.”
Maddie flips through the book, quickly skimming over the pages. “How am I only learning about this now. And why are you guys not as freaked out as I am about this?” Rhonda sat crossed legged on the couch, flipping through pages of a magazine. She takes her ever-present lollipop out of her mouth. “We’ve been dead for a while, cherry pop. Not a lot can freak you out after being stuck here for so long. Besides, they are just more people that can’t see us.”
The week flew by, and the day of homecoming. Maddie had spent the week reading through the book Wally gave her about the history of Seabrook when she wasn’t trying to figure out who killed her. Their current main suspect was Claire, her former best friend and her boyfriend, Xavier. Maddie had a lot going through her mind. Discovering who killed her on top of finding out that the supernatural exists and coming to Split River High.
Maddie walked into the gym, the ghosts busy getting decorations ready for the big game tonight. Wally was doing push ups with Rhonda sitting on his back for weight. After he’s done with his push ups, he asks Maddie to help him spread the long butcher paper on the hardwood floor. The teens spread out on the floor and began painting on the paper ‘Go Wally!’. As Maddie and Wally painted, Charley and Rhonda were busy blowing up balloons with the helium tank. “Why do we have to do this? Like can’t we just steal the decorations the school already has?”
“I mean we did steal all this from the homecoming committee and all the paint from the art room.” Rhonda said, tying up the balloon with her fingers.
“Plus, we do it every year.” Charley says inhaling some helium out of the balloon to make his voice all high and squeaky. “It’s kind of tradition”
Rhonda laughs “Once a year we are forced to relive Wally’s glory years.”
“Hey at least I have glory.” Wally butted in as he continued to paint on the paper.
Just then Sandra- Maddie’s mom entered the gym. She asks a student directions to a classroom. Maddie abruptly stops painting the sign and followed her mother into the hallway.
The cool wind blew through Maddie’s hair. She settled into a spot on the bleachers, watching for Claire to arrive on the field for the cheer routine. The Split River Bandits ran through their banner and onto the field doing some final practice and stretches. Then came out The Seabrook Mighty Shrimps, running through their banner and doing final practice throws. From afar Maddie couldn’t tell who on the team was a Zombie or a werewolf. They just looked like normal high schoolers.
Wally ran up into the stands. He gave high fives and hugs to the other ghosts then paused in front of Maddie pointing out his momma in the stands. Still cheering on the team, decades after her son passed away.
Wally asks Maddie if she wanted to get some food from the concession stand. She nods, walking down the steps and onto the ground below. Wally offers to get food for the both of them and for Maddie to find somewhere to sit.
Wally returns with a tray full of food he places the tray down on the table. “Please tell me both of those are for you.” Maddie wondered as Wally took a seat next to her.
“What’s wrong with hotdogs?” Wally asked with a puzzled look on his face.
“Nothing. It’s just when my mom wasn’t... herself I had to fend for myself for dinner. And what does every thirteen-year-old know how to make?” Wally gestured to the tray in front of him. “And I got really creative with what I could make too. I even once made hotdog peanut butter and jelly.”
A girl with green hair and a boy with darker hair with a strip of white, approached the table. Maddie and Wally paid no attention to them. It wasn’t until the girl with green hair spoke. “Hey, is it okay if we sit here?”
Wally looked over at Maddie who shared the same confused look as he did. His eyebrows furrowed together. “I mean it’s cool if we can’t, we can find somewhere-
“You can see us?” Wally interrupted the boy.
The boy and girl exchanged confused looks. “Yeah, of course we can see you. Why wouldn’t we be able to?”
Both Maddie and Wally were speechless. The only person that can see someone on ‘their side’ was Simon and he could only see Maddie not the rest of the ghosts. Rhonda and Charley were walking past the group of tables. “Guys, come here for a sec?” Wally asked, gesturing Rhonda and Charley to the table.
Charley and Rhonda approached the table, Rhonda slightly annoyed at his interruption. “What is it, Moose?”
Before Wally could respond the boy perked up. “Your name is Moose? That’s so cool. I’m Wyatt and this is Eliza.
‘What’s happening?” Charley asked with a shocked look on his face- dropping his notepad and pencil on the table.
“That’s what I called you over for.”
“They can see us.” Maddie repeated.
Eliza tilted her head “Again, why wouldn't you be able to see you guys. I thought students at Seabrook were unique. I just saw the marching band walk in circles playing the same song over and over.”
The teens' eyes grew wide. “How is this even possible?” Rhonda pondered as she began to pace.
A boy dressed in a pink button-down shirt approached the table. “Are you guys talking about” he waved his hands in front of his face “me?”
“Why would we be talking about you, Bucky? We’re getting to know some of the students at this school.” Eliza said, gesturing across the table to where Maddie and Wally are sitting.
“What are you talking about? There’s no one at this table besides you.” Bucky replied. “Whatever freaks. I need to get back on the field and cheer for myself… I mean the team.”
Rhonda scrunched up her nose “I don’t like him.”
Wyatt looked over to Eliza “Why didn’t Bucky see them? They are right there” Eliza shrugged her shoulders.
“He couldn’t see us because we” Rhonda waved her hand towards Charley, Wally, Maddie and herself “are dead, haunting the place we all died for decades on end.”
Eliza and Wyatt exchanged looks between each other. “Wait, decades? How long have you… nevermind that could be a really long topic. The explanation for why we can see you likely has something to do with the supernatural. I’m a zombie and Wyatt is a werewolf.” Eliza said.
“That explains his pointy front teeth.” Charley said sarcastically. “But you don’t look like a zombie.”
Before Eliza could explain, Maddie said “They have these things on their wrist called Z-bands that keep that part of them under control. As long as the bands say online, they aren’t full zombies. I read about it in the book Wally gave me.”
“Exactly.” Eliza lifted up the cuff of her jacket and showed the band.
“Zed, why aren't you on the field? Wait, what happened to your green hair? Have you been messing with your Z- band again?” A girl approaches the table from behind Maddie and Wally.
Wally turns around to face her, confusion spreads across his face. “Who’s Zed? I’m Wally.” He turns back around, Eliza and Wyatt staring at him. “What?”
They both tilt their heads slightly to the right and squint their eyes. “Willa, you’re right. He does look just like Zed.”
“And things just got interesting.” Rhonda commented, stealing some of Wally’s French fries.
Willa walked around the table and sat on the empty seat next to Wyatt. “I’m confused. This isn't Zed?”
“I literally have no idea who that is.” Wally stated, looking between them.
“Zed is my best friend. He once messed with his Z-band to make him look human. He wanted to impress a girl’s parents because they didn't like zombies at the time.” Eliza said. “When he did that, he looked exactly like you, Wally.”
“Okay this is officially weird.” Charley said, touching the frame of his glasses, nudging them back into place.
“I’ll say.” Wally looked over at Charley. “So, this Zed guy…me and him look the same? How is that even possible?”
Before any of the teens could respond the game announcer yelled over the PA system “And the Seabrook Mighty Shrimp have defeated the Split River Bandits in a nail-biting final quarter with the final score 88 Bandits to 90 Mighty Shrimp!”
“The game’s over, Zed should be heading off the field now. He will probably be with Addison. We should go find him.” Willa suggested.
Eliza and Wyatt begin to stand up from the table “Wait, he’s a football player too? This keeps getting weirder and weirder.” Charley said, standing to his feet. Maddie, Wally and Rhonda followed Willa, Wyatt and Eliza to find the zombie.
Eliza was first to spot Addison outside the boy’s locker room, waiting for her boyfriend to finish showering. Addison turned around at the sound of her name being called “Hey Eliza. Zed should be finished soon, then we can go out to celebrate the big win.”
Addison pauses when she notices the other people around her friends that she doesn’t recognise. Being her friendly self, she gives them a quick wave as she introduces herself. “Hi, I’m Addison. Nice to meet you guys.”
“Wait, you can see them too?” Wyatt questioned. How is Addison able to see them if they are ghosts? With what they have been told so far, humans can’t see them. So how is it that Addison can?
“Of course I can.” Addison scans over the new faces then lands on Wally’s face. “Zed? Did you mess with your Z-band again?”
“That’s not Zed. His name is Wally, he’s a ghost and so are the rest of them.” Eliza gestures to Maddie, Rhonda and Charley.
“Woah. Freaky coincidence.” Addison said, walking closer to Wally. “The resemblance is uncanny.”
“So, I’ve been told.” Wally replied.
A girl with dark brown hair and a tall lanky boy approached the group. “Hey you guys. Bonzo and I have been looking for you for ages. We heard there’s this great place nearby that has the best burgers in town, so we should celebrate the win there.” The girl in the matching cheerleader uniform said.
“What kind of name is Bonzo?” Charley pointed out. “Wait. Actually, nevermind.”
“Hey Bree, Zed is still in the locker room. But speaking of Zed, look at that boy right there.” Addison points Wally out amongst the group “He and Zed look identical. Freaky coincidence, huh?”
Bree looks to where Addison is pointing. Nothing. “Who am I looking at?”
“Bree is human, Addison. She wouldn’t be able to see the ghosts. My hypothesis is that we can only see them because of our abilities.” Eliza explained. “But that doesn’t explain why you can see them?”
Just then Zed walks out of the boy’s locker room, straight away turning to Addison for a hug now that he is no longer sweaty and gross. “Did you find a place where we can go out to celebrate? I’m starving.” Zed pauses when Addison doesn’t respond. He turns around and eyes the rest of the group. “What’s going on?” When Wally’s eyes spotted Zed for the first time it was like looking in a mirror. Granted he had paler skin and green hair, but the rest, the resemblance was undeniable. Wally was still confused why and how he and Zed looked so similar. He looked over to Maddie who had the same bewildered look on her face. How is this possible? He wondered.
“You might want to turn around.” Addison said, grabbing him by the shoulders, turning Zed around. It doesn’t take long for him to see. Standing behind Eliza, Willa and Wyatt was a boy with dark brown hair, porcelain skin. Zed stepped closer to Wally. He squinted his eyes, looked him up and down. Zed was looking at someone who looked exactly like him when he messed with his Z-band to look human, minus the fluffed up hair.
Walking around the corner, Bucky spots the group “Are you talking about how amazing and brilliant I am.” He says with a wide grin on his face.
“Again, Bucky, no one is talking about you.” Eliza said, looking over to him.
“Well, someone should.” As he walks off, he spots a group of students from Split River High “Hi, Bucky Buchanan, future student body president of Seabrook High.”
Rhonda rolls her eyes “Still don’t like him.”
Maddie looked around, noticing people were starting to leave the stadium. “If we are going to continue this conversation, we should find somewhere more private, so people don’t think it’s odd that you guys are talking to air.” Taking that into consideration, the ghosts lead them into the school, finding an empty classroom to talk.
“We should go find Wynter.” Willa said, heading towards the field with Wyatt.
When the teens entered the classroom, Wally and Zed were the last to enter. When they both got in the room, they stood next to each other. “This might be the freakiest thing to happen in decades.” Charley said, taking a seat at one of the desks.
“Wait, did you say decades? How long have you guys been here?” Zed asked.
“Well, I’ve been here 30 years, Wally 40, Rhonda 60 and Maddie has only been here a couple of weeks. Her death was the biggest mystery… well up until now.” Charley responded.
“I… do not know how to respond to that.” Zed said, watching Wally guardedly, like he might somehow know something he isn’t telling them. “Anyways maybe I should call my dad? He might know something.”
Zed pulled out his phone and dials his dad. He quickly lets him know how the Mighty Shrimps won the game, and he wished his Dad could have been there to see the game. He then fills his Dad in on meeting Wally and the ghosts, hoping his father can shed some light on the situation.
Zed hangs up the phone. “Well, what did he say?” Addison wondered.
“He says that his Aunt Bea lives in Split River and had a son that died in the 80’s.”
“Bea is my mom. So, we’re second cousins?” Wally exclaimed.
Just then, Willa, Wyatt and Wynter enter the classroom. “Woah, there’s two Zed’s. Do I have a concussion or something?”
“No Wynter you don’t have a concussion. Turns out they are cousins.” Addison explained to them.
“Aww this is such a cute family reunion that I wish I could see.” Bree said, looking around the room to try to spot the ghosts that they are talking too.
“A zig zagg gwag gwad ziggy got got.” Bonzo said.
“Uh, what did the zombie boy just say?” Rhonda asked, raising her eyebrows.
“He said he was hungry. How about we all celebrate together? Even though we're on different teams, it would be a nice way to get to know you guys better.” Addison said.
“That’s the thing, Addison. We can’t leave the school grounds. Whenever we try, we just bounce back to the spot we died. We still don’t know why it happens.” Charley got up from the seat and stood next to Maddie and Wally who were near the window seal.
“Well how about we go get some food and we can come back here? That way we can all be together.” Addison replied.
“You guys want to do that for us?” Wally said, giving a pointed look to the group.
“Of course, anything for family.” Zed said, a grin forming on his face.
After a while the teens returned, all carrying food in their arms from the local diner. The ghosts moved the tables out of the way, making a spot on the floor for everyone to sit. They all laughed, told stories about their wild adventures.
Now that the mystery of their similar appearance was solved, Zed and Wally became fast friends as did the rest of the teens with the ghosts. What started out as an ordinary day changed for the better, Wally thought. He now has new friends to talk to after decades of being limited to the same people stuck with him. And for the first time, Wally forgot that today was the anniversary of his death, having too much fun with his new friends.
Thank you @seeker1982 for editing, giving me ideas, being a beta reader and an amazing person!
Thank you @school-spirits for coming up with this event, I had so much fun each week coming up with new ideas. I loved it!
This is hands down my favourite entry in Spirit Week maybe my favourite fic I've ever written. I love both franchises so much so when I saw at the start week 7 was alternate universe, I came with this idea then. Honestly I could have written way more but had to shorten it I was already on 7 pages 😅
thank you for reading it means the world 🥹🫶🏻

Coming soon
Things in Zombies Re-Animated that I can't stop thinking about/just stuck out to me Idk:
Bartleby. He is very cute.
Like literally one of the best looking scenes in the entire show is the bit where he licks the sandwhich Dae gave him. The way his eyes close and his ears go back makes me so happy I love it when animals do that
Also Bartleby screaming in Something to Tok About is a really funny gag Idk-
The animals in this show are all great tbh I love that so many characters get to have weird little pets
WHEN BUCKY MET BARKY IS SUCH A SWEET EPISODE SJFNVKEMFMEMDN
Bucky somehow picking up on Dae being an introvert before anyone else does???
The Trevor Tordjman jumpscare in Something to Tok About
Shrimpossible
Bucky loving cool frogs, mostly because it's a mood
Just Bucky in general tbh
Also I really like Dae! I was kinda worried she would be annoying, because one of her defining traits is how quirky she is and that kind of character can get annoying FAST, but so far Dae's actually been really fun!
Also I think it's very funny that her VA(Kayhun Kim) was in Cocaine Bear
The Mothership not being Ru Paul anymore. A VERY understandable choice(getting Ru Paul back would be EXPENSIVE), but disappointing none the less
The fact that Bree canonically writes fanfic about A-spen and Wynter because she has a weird disconnect between them being her friends and them being her favorite band-
The fact that Wyatt and Eliza actually got together and then broke up over the course of like, 5 episodes? Which isn't a bad thing! I think their relationship was actually handled really well, which is why I'm gonna be thinking about it a lot lmao
WE'RE BRINGIN IT IS STUCK IN MY HEAD AND I CAN'T GET IT OUT H E L P
Bucky and Willa being friends. Them being friends is very important to me.
Zeddison. Just Zeddison. I love them <3
Willa and A-spen BARELY interacting in the first 11 episodes :(
Willa and Bree friendship :)
Bucky and Dae friendship :)
S p a g h e t t i W a t e r f a l l
Im glad Trevor Tordjman is ACTUALLY singing again in the show. If you don't count rapping(which I don't bcuz rapping and singing require different skill sets), he hasn't had an actual solo part in anything since like. Fired Up Competition. Which is weird cuz he's actually a pretty decent singer???
I'm also glad we get to hear Kylee Russell sing more!!! Her voice is so pretty :)
The soundtrack in general is really good
Eliza singing a love song to a vending machine
Addison and Bree's joint hallucination being the thing to prove to them they're still besties. Only real ones share hallucinations fr
Coach and the Solstice Slasher being highschool besites???
RAZZMATAZZ!!!!!!!!
Just Coach and his relationships in general tbh
The poster of Eliza in Invasion of the Bucky Snatchers. That image is going to haunt my nightmares f o r e v e r
SERIOUSLY I LITERALLY CANNOT GET WE'RE BRINGIN IT OUT OF MY HEAD IT'S TOO FUCKING CATCHY-
Also my brain has constructed a version of It's Okay where Wyatt's part is replaced with the chorus of I'm Not Okay, I Promise by MCR and that won't get out of my head either 💀
Also also every time I see the title of that song I start thinking about It's Alright by Mother Mother?
Basically everytime I think about It's Okay I get every song EXCEPT It's Okay stuck in my head. For some reason
And then We're Bringin It gets sTUCK IN MY FUCKING HEAD AGAIN SERIOUSLY IT WON'T FUCKIN L E A V E
Bucky is canon m-spec and polyamorous that one scene in A Wyatt Place confirms it I'm nOT INSANE I'M NOT-
I miss the Aceys 😔
This show has a surprsingly similar sense of humor to South Park and Smiling Friends? Like obviously it's really toned down because Re-Animated is on fucking Disney Channel, but like... idk it has the same vibes
The Blob
I wanna know when the rest of the season is coming out cuz I need moooooooore
