You woke up in the same room. You felt as if you had the most peaceful sleep in your life but you woke with a start. Your body seemed be ahead of the rest of you and it stood up suddenly.
You could hear a ruckus going on outside the cell or whatever it was you were locked in.
You ran to the door to listen and heard what sounded like a dog and electric squishy noises. From the small window in your cell you could see red blasts of light flying about. You couldn’t imagine what was happening out there besides some sort of laser point fetch game for dogs. One of the red lasers hit your door and it seemed to hit it with an actual force that let it unlock.
You took another look outside and saw a group of men in white knight suits running past. They clomped with every step. You ducked below the window and waited until you couldn’t hear their steps anymore.
When the hall fell back to silent you pulled the door open and looked down the hall being careful to be able to jump back in your room if needed.
There was no one down either side and you could see some sort of console down at the one side with what looked like bunker doors. Perhaps the exit?
You tiptoed into the hall and pulled your door shut behind you in case anyone were to come by and look. You stayed close to the wall with all of its divots and places to stick into in the even that someone ran past.
Your heart was racing and your mind was in panic not knowing what was going on. Had Earth been attacked by aliens or was the future or had you fallen into some sort of wormhole somehow like Interstellar? No idea and you were oddly numb to any of these possibilities you just knew you needed to stay alive and after that man had come by and threatened you, you doubted that you would live much longer in that cell.
You were just at the console when you heart softer footsteps running down the other end of the hall. You scooted into an alcove and leaned against the wall. The steps slid to a halt. You couldn’t see who it was and didn’t want to poke your head out risking being caught but you knew it was him.
He was still for too long, you knew he would come down and catch you. Giving your best you decided to go for it. You jumped out of your hiding and hit the big button on the console.
the hydraulics steamed and you caught a glimpse of him as he began running down the hallway. His face was shown and you could see his anger swelled up across it. You could see the door was going to close before he got to you and in your joy you smiled and flipped him off before continuing your venture into the unknown area. He grunted and yelled just as the barrier closed.
