The little clock Joe had placed in the box had an illustrated background to it showing the transition of night to day and back again. Right now you could see it was just after midnight which was when Joe would come to visit you. You hated being asleep when he showed up, you knew him and knew that he wouldn’t touch you without your permission but at the same time you could never have dreamed he would have kidnapped you and stuck you into a box.
You two had met a holistic trauma rehab facility. You both had trouble communicating in a group setting with everyone but found solace in each other. Your therapists encouraged you both spending time together. You two would go for walks in the woods ditching the group as they would drink LSD laden tea and sob about the stardust they were made of.
He had shared the chaotic environment he endured as a child when he came across a burnt tree during your walk. He had stopped to sob.
One group you had always participated in was the in creative movement class. You had danced throughout your childhood and high school years and found freedom in ridding the extra energy stored in your body, letting it move how it needed and scream what you couldn’t whisper.
You saw him watching from a distance while you were in your movement sessions.
On his last night there you two took a walk through the woods again, when you both came upon the burnt tree you had asked him if he could help you. He closed his eyes like you asked while you moved your body under the moonlight to the music only nature gave you. He never opened his eyes once. He respected your wish. You ran your body until it was nearly exhausted and the dried leaves were sticking to your sweaty legs.
You hugged him. It was the first human contact you had been able to bare since your own childhood. It even felt comforting. He knew your difficulties and didn’t move, he let you make all the moves and that was the only one you were capable of making at that time. You sobbed just as he had.
He left the next day. You watched from the room in your window as his wife pulled up and showered him in hugs and kisses. He looked up to your window with a solemn expression and watched with his big eyes from the prison of her car as she drove him away. You thought it would be the last time you would see him.
Until you woke up in his prison.
You had been out of the rehab in Portland for a month and back to your normal grind running your cat cafe. You stayed late preparing your documents for your tax return. It was so strange because one moment you were staring at a receipt and the next you were groggy and staring at Joe through a glass window.
He had been spying on you through your own security cameras and knew that you were the only one that drank the watermelon tobacco Brazilian coffee and that you did it every night you stayed late. He had spiked the coffee and somehow ended you up...here.
You weren’t sure how many days you had been here but it was enough for him to find homes for all of your foster cats in the cafe. You could thank him for that at least. He had brought you here to keep you from his wife who he said had a violent side and had read in one of his discharge papers his connection with you. That you could also thank him for.
You looked around the room and cleaned up the middle of it. Your body had a lot of thoughts at the moment and you felt it yearning to release.
You closed your eyes taking deep breaths in and out and listened to it urge you to lift your arms out in front of you. You threw your head back and felt the stretch down your spine. You rolled your hands then dropped suddenly sweeping your leg out to lunge. Again you threw your head back and let your back follow to wave as you straightened your legs. Your body needed a moment to breath so you stretched one arm out to the side as far as it could go and traced a circle as far as you could reach over your head until it reached your other arm now stretching out in the opposite direction.
You could feel him watching.
You opened your eyes and found him watching you with his hand pressed against the glass. He watched you with the same intensity he had watched you in each of your classes. He looked not like he wanted to devour you but he wanted to crawl into your body so he could feel the closeness.
The second that you heard news that the dragon queen was coming for Kings Landing you knew you needed to get out of the castle. You had put your leather dress on, thrown a cloak on, and tried to secure your hair into as tight of a braid as your long, thick hair could allow and ran for it. You decided to wait out the battle by the beaches in one of the small caves that was naturally build into the cliff on which the red keep was built.
You weren’t sure who you wished for to win, Cercei was unpredictable not in the sense that her behavior was sporadic, but you could never tell what the next piece of her plan would be executed and who would be killed with it. As one of her ladies in waiting you weren’t prepared to surrender your life for her. You’d seen the monster that lives within her, you had grown up in the castle with your mother who had lost her life when Cercei had sacrificed her own people to regain control of Kings Landing. The dragon queen was a different kind of unpredictable, that state of her mind was unsure as her father had shown the same signs of dwindling down into madness that you heard she presented. You weren’t sure you would be safer with her than with Cercei.
You hid inside the cave yet even from there you could hear the bells chiming followed by the screams of people and the roar of the dragon and its queen.
The rumbling above you made you question not if you would die but if you would prefer to die by the cave potentially collapsing on top you or if you would like to burn instantly by the hellfire you could smell.
A few more hours passed and night fell. You could no longer hear the dragon screaming but you could hear the distant sobs of terror as people came to find their loved ones dead and their own injuries unbearable.
You knew coming out of the cave would be a risk, you weren’t sure if the new queen would take kindly to you being in the prior queens court, you felt so numb to the experience though that you felt there was nothing worse that death would bring than the unknowing anxiety you were putting yourself through. You walked out to the bright daylight when morning broke. You smelled the ash in the air and the faint smell of burnt flesh. You looked up at the castle from where you were on the beach below and saw it crumbled in several spots.
A group of soldier that were certainly not from King’s Landing approached you. You felt so disconnected from the world that you didn’t even register that you could about to be killed if they were so ordered.
“State your position,” one of them said with a thick accent. You looked at him and shrugged.
“Whoever won.” He thudded his staff to his armor.
“Hail Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen the First of Her Name, The Unburnt, Queen of the Iron throne, the Andals, the Rhoynar and the First Men, Queen of meereen, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Protector of the Realm, Lady Regent of the Seven Kingdoms, Breaker of Chains and Mother of Dragons.”
“Long may she reign,” you drawled looking at all the lives she had ruined despite her vow for freedom.
You turned back to the sea and wondered if you could simply take a boat and find a new home. You just wanted quiet.
As you looked down at the sea past a patch of rubble you noticed some subtle movement. You thought it was ash settling but after some of it fell off the moving object you saw the dark red blood that had been concealed by the soot. You took a few steps closer and noticed the scarred face of Sandor Clegane. It had been many years since you had last seen him at court and you had never expected or thought of seeing him again but there was no mistaking that scar for anyone else.
You walked away from the soldiers down towards him.
He groaned and gritted his teeth while he tried to move. It didn’t seem like he could see you there was a great deal of blood on his eyes.
As you grew near to him the soldiers followed you.
“Do you know this man,” the same one asked.
“Yes, give me water,” you held your hand out to them. They handed you a flask that wasn’t very full. “This is Sandor Clegane, I believe an ally of the queen. The soldier nodded after taking a closer look at him. He said something to one of his men who in turn ran off. The rest of them began removing the rubble that was lying on top of Sandor.
“You look beautiful,” you said bluntly and poured water into your hand. You gently knelt down next to him. He grunted again. You gently began to pour water onto his face then used your hands to brush away blood and soot gently. He sputtered and groaned as the men pulled away a large rock from beneath him.
When they moved it you saw the body of something that may have once been a man that made you still.
“How sweet, you wanted to share a grave with your brother,” you felt chills going through you while you poured more water onto his face. The men removed another rock that was ontop of his stomach and he let out a loud yelp.
“I needed to make sure he got there this time,” he breathed out and was able to open his eye after the water loosened the sticky and crusted blood. You helped him lean up and brought a handful of water to his lips this time. He opened his eyes and looked at you. You could see he recognized you.
“Many people will forever be in your debt,” you said. He drank the water and you felt his rough lips on your hand gently sucking.
The soldier who had ran off at the others command came back with a stretcher. I looked at the thin material and winced. It may have worked for the thirteen year old boys they would recruit at desperate times to protect the kingdom but not for Sandor Clegane who was now the largest man in the seven realms.
“Fuck off with your toy, boy,” the bloody man grunted. Dribbling bloody spit into your hand. You wiped it onto his chest. Two of the soldiers took his hands and helped to pull him to his feet. He yelled as it happened.
“Take him to the tents,” the soldier said.
“No,” you handed him back his flask.
“I own a home just up the hill. If it’s still standing, just bring him there. I’ll take care of him.” Sandor coughed staring at you with eyes that looked like a freed man.
“Why are you doing this,” he asked you stopping you from continuing your fast paced sprint that you had been dragging him along with for the past five minutes. You were going to try to steal some imperial weapons but had caught this idiot trying to beat you to it. The problem was was that he had injured his leg and was not going to get far with his wound. A flash of anxiety grabbed at your heart from the cease of your moving.
“We have to keep moving,” you turned to run again but he pulled you back gentle enough that it didn’t hurt you but forceful enough that you understood he wasn’t going to give.
“Why are you helping me,” his brow furrowed just a little to create a crease between the two. You smirked and in the rush of adrenaline that had been running through you over the past few minutes you pecked the corner of his cheek just by his lip. He was stunned enough that you could throw his arm back over your shoulders.
“Just make sure to return the favor hot shot,” this time he let you continue to run again. His heavy footsteps followed very shortly after. You looked and saw him smiling with a glint in his eye as he tried his best to hobble along with you.
After the two of you stole the mayors speeder bike and took off he drove all the way to where his ship had landed near the marshes outside of the city. Luckily for the two of you, the city’s police had not yet found it. You two took no time immediately boarding the small ship and took off before anyone could follow after you. You did your best not to look out the windows as you took off. Heights had never been a thing of yours.
“Here,” a bag of empty air was tossed into your face from the co-pilot seat you were in. Poe looked over to you with a smirk, you took the bag graciously and clutched it close to your body as you considered retching into it at that immediate moment. “Does this count as that favor I owe ya?” You sheepishly smiled turning a little red as you recalled the promiscuous banter you had cast at him earlier.
“Not even clo-,” you caught the bag in front of your mouth just before your lunch escaped your mouth. You could dully hear a laugh coming from your left.
It didn’t take long to warm up to Poe, he pretty much insisted on you staying with him until you had enough funds to purchase a little place of your own. He trained you how to fly and pushed you everyday to make fun of the things that scared you, like heights. After a while the living situation seemed to be forgotten as you two moved into the same bedroom and started to settle in with each other. You two never said what you both thought of each other but knew that the other knew.
You eventually grew skilled enough as a pilot that you were assigned your first mission. Poe had thrown you a huge party the night before, revving you up with all the other pilots. You had never remembered drinking as much as you had that night. It was some right of passage that all the other pilots had taken before you.
You woke up only to Poe throwing your uniform at you as he himself rushed to get ready, also hungover from the night before. You did your best to look presentable but knew that you still looked like the hot mess that you woke up as. The two of you raced to the landing strip and prepared yourself with the other two pilots that were assigned to your mission with you. Every one of you were lined next to your ship. You could barely pay attention as the commander went over the mission for a third time. You had studied the mission before countless times yet you still felt anxiety at how you were slacking off due to your hangover. The commander waved you off and you all started to board your ships. As you were about to place your first foot inside you noticed a small white bag laying on your seat with a note scribbled on it. “Returned the favor, hot shot,” you smiled and stuffed the bag into your pocket knowing that you were most likely going to vomit shortly.
You all took off without a problem, the mission was short, make some ruckus to distract the empire ship while a spy of yours jumped on board. While you were out it you managed to take out one of their cannons.
“Nice one, oatmeal,” you heard Poe’s voice over the intercom. You looked out your window and saw him flying next to you on your guard, “fuck off,” you lipped to him. He made sure that the entire base knew you upchucked every time you got into a plane the first few times, resulting in your stunning nickname.
Just as you had said it your fighter came to an abrupt halt. You gasped and thought you had hit something but the bright light outside your ship made you realize you were being towed. “Shit.” You looked around and saw that you were quickly being pulled into the landing bay.
“Get out of there!” Poe yelled at you. You tried to jostle your console but the tow had disabled your ship. You could still hear everything that they were saying to you but you couldn’t even send out a signal.
“Poe, retreat.” Your commander came on ordering Poe. You knew the rest of the squad had to go. You could handle some roughing up. Poe’s ship was approaching you as he spun around.
“you idiot,” you mumbled to yourself.
He got closer, you looked back at the imperial ship and could see Kylo Ren standing at the docking bay. Double shit.
“Go,” you yelled as he got just close enough for both of you to be able to see each other, you were pointing away from the imperial ship at him.
Your ship just pulled into the bay there was more bright light than there was starry space. You could see his determination and thought for a second that he was going to be stupid enough to crash into the shield but he pulled up at the last moment.
Your heart sank despite that you knew he was safe, you were stuck.
You stayed in your seat until they opened up your fighter for you with several storm troopers pointing their guns right at you.
“Keep your hands up and step out slowly.” One of them said through.
You smirked and obliged. You were scared shitless but honestly humor is the only appropriate coping mechanism.
You were admitted the night prior. They had a man sitting in your room watching you while you slept. They had a woman sitting with you while you ate breakfast. The had either a man or a woman escorting you to every thing you could do out of the few options. And they still hadn’t given you any fucking drugs.
Your anxiety was at an all time high. You could hardly sleep through the night with the door to your room open and hearing screams or sobbing come and go as people battled through their night terrors or fits of psychosis. You knew that the people in here were suffering just as you but you also knew that some of them could be dangerous. This didn’t feel like the healing, safe environment that your therapist had convinced you it would be.
Every action you did you could see a nurse writing it down and you would wonder if that had cost you more time here or not. Eating didn’t feel like an option when they would write you up for refusing food, So forcing at least half your tray of food to be swallowed when your anxiety was at an all time high made you nearly sick and need to lay down, which they wouldn’t let you do during the day. You just needed something to calm you down so that you could get through the 72 hours that you needed to to get out of there.
Group therapy was your first activity that you were brought in to do. The woman escorting you walked you by your upper arm and pointed to a chair she wanted you to sit in.
Other people were starting to come into the room, some were escorted by their one-on-ones and others were apparently trusted not to try to harm themselves or others
A man with a white coat and round glasses came in and sat down in the seats that were positioned in a circle. He smiled at a few people and to you as well.
“Looks like we are just waiting for Patricia or whoever agrees to join us today.” The man nodded and began checking some things off of his board. You could hear every sound in the room, the clock ticking, the woman humming to your right. The bald man with one eye biting his nails, the plump woman shaking her leg so hard that every few seconds she would bounce a leg of her chair off the floor.
On the 227th click of the clock a man walked into the doorway. He moved with such a grace that you wondered if they were dancing. He held his neck long and he glided to his seat. For a second you lost track of the noises. He patted your shoulder as he walked past and sat down in a seat a few away from you.
“Hello, Patricia,” the doctor checked off once more on the clipboard and then he took a breath that bothered you the way his nose wheezed as he took it.
“Alright, let’s begin today with introductions again. We have a new group member who came by last night. Shall we begin with you Charlie?” The doctor looked to his left where the plump woman was sitting.
“Hi I’m Charlie and I’m here for anxiety and PTSD.” The woman smiled at you, the clock was at the 62nd click now since you restarted.
The next person went, “Joey, I have bi-polar disorder... type two.”
The next “Hey, Jenny,” she pointed at joey, “type one.” She seemed too happy to be in therapy. 75th click.
The doctor chimed in next and acknowledged a man in a wheelchair with a far off gaze, “this is Giuliani, he’s here for catatonic episodes, he has given me permission to share some basic facts during groups when we are together in group.” 91st click.
Patricia was sitting with the the most perfect posture that you had ever seen. He, maybe she, waved to you.
“Hello pretty girl,” when they spoke you became more confused of their gender but were more focused on how soothing and soft the voice was to your ears, finally something actually comforting here. “I’m Mrs. Patricia, I am the current host to this body. I am here for Dissociative Identity Disorder and during our time here you may meet several of my companions.” They smiled kindly at the end. You lost count again.
The bald man was next, “Hi, my name’s peter I’m here for depression.” Click 13.
The woman to your right turned to you and smiled. “I’m here for Borderline Personality disorder, anxiety, depression, and maybe ADHD or PTSD or a bunch of other things.” She laughed to herself and shrug her shoulders high, “just a lot of whatever.” Click 37.
You looked at Patricia who was kindly looking at you with her hands placed on her lap.
“Hi, I’m (name)...” you felt heavy trying to say what you were there for without it sounding surreal, “my therapist sent me here.” You felt weird saying it out loud and felt a lot of shame. The plump woman began shaking her leg again.
“Oh, thank you so much for sharing dear,” Patricia looked at you with sympathetic eyes. “We are very happy to have you here with us, and safe!” She began to clap in the silent room. No one else clapped with her. This felt unreal.
The doctor looked to you with a cocked head. “Is there anything else you’d like to say about why your therapist sent you here?”
You swallowed and felt like you had to scream through ten layers of concrete to get your voice just to hoarsely let out “just give me the fucking vallum.”
The doctor was mildly stunned by what you said but as his training taught him, he recaptured his control. “You can discuss medication with your psychiatrist, I’m not in a position to prescribe you medication.”
You felt your eye twitch. Click 127.
Patricia was staring at you with her mouth agape and you could see their posture and expression change as they stared at you the entire time.
“Ah, do we have someone else with us?”
“Sorry doc, I had to see her for myself.” Patricia’s voice had grown deep and they reached into their pocket to pull out a pair of glasses. They leaned forward in their chair clasping their hands together as they stared at you. For some reason you felt like it wasn’t just one person eating you up through their eyes.
“She has surrendered to a joy known only by the insane. She has lost herself completely, and she is finally free. It is horrible and it is beautiful” -Ari Aster
You woke up in the same room. You felt as if you had the most peaceful sleep in your life but you woke with a start. Your body seemed be ahead of the rest of you and it stood up suddenly.
You could hear a ruckus going on outside the cell or whatever it was you were locked in.
You ran to the door to listen and heard what sounded like a dog and electric squishy noises. From the small window in your cell you could see red blasts of light flying about. You couldn’t imagine what was happening out there besides some sort of laser point fetch game for dogs. One of the red lasers hit your door and it seemed to hit it with an actual force that let it unlock.
You took another look outside and saw a group of men in white knight suits running past. They clomped with every step. You ducked below the window and waited until you couldn’t hear their steps anymore.
When the hall fell back to silent you pulled the door open and looked down the hall being careful to be able to jump back in your room if needed.
There was no one down either side and you could see some sort of console down at the one side with what looked like bunker doors. Perhaps the exit?
You tiptoed into the hall and pulled your door shut behind you in case anyone were to come by and look. You stayed close to the wall with all of its divots and places to stick into in the even that someone ran past.
Your heart was racing and your mind was in panic not knowing what was going on. Had Earth been attacked by aliens or was the future or had you fallen into some sort of wormhole somehow like Interstellar? No idea and you were oddly numb to any of these possibilities you just knew you needed to stay alive and after that man had come by and threatened you, you doubted that you would live much longer in that cell.
You were just at the console when you heart softer footsteps running down the other end of the hall. You scooted into an alcove and leaned against the wall. The steps slid to a halt. You couldn’t see who it was and didn’t want to poke your head out risking being caught but you knew it was him.
He was still for too long, you knew he would come down and catch you. Giving your best you decided to go for it. You jumped out of your hiding and hit the big button on the console.
the hydraulics steamed and you caught a glimpse of him as he began running down the hallway. His face was shown and you could see his anger swelled up across it. You could see the door was going to close before he got to you and in your joy you smiled and flipped him off before continuing your venture into the unknown area. He grunted and yelled just as the barrier closed.

After you watched the entire house burn down you took your son and fled for a time to the countryside while you tried to figure out what to do. You wanted to flee the country but the Ministry was so guarded and on the hunt for you that leaving would be very risky. Finally after a few months of moving from house to house within muggle communities you decided to You apparated just off the grounds of Hogwarts with your son and sent your patronus, which you hadn’t conjured in over thirty years, to Dumbledore to meet you off the grounds. You knew that there was a price on your head for being associated with Tom and you did not want to risk your life or your sons.
An hour later you heard rustling of leaves behind you. You pulled your son close to your body and held your wand out at the ready, you couldn’t take any chances anymore. Dumbledore’s light blue robes peaked through the bushed and you relaxed as he stepped forward. He, however, seemed far from relaxed.
“You have no business here,” his voice was harsh and his eyes darted to your son who was looking at him with curiosity.
“Not here but elsewhere, I need to leave the country,” you knew that there was a plea in your voice but you didn’t care.
“You should be thrown in Azkaban,” he immediatley retorted. You felt your son grip your dress a bit tighter. You smoothed his hair to try to calm him.
“You knew me Professor, you know that I never would have done what I did out of my own free will.” You started to cover your sons ears, not wanting him to hear the fight that was sure to ensue.
“She’s correct,” Severus’ voice came from behind the bushes. Your jaw dropped at seeing him back you up. The two of you had never gotten along very well. “He had, had me brew him countless batches of amortentia and elixers of life, which should have worn off about this morning if he had not given her a dosage last night.” Severus walked around Dumbledore and looked down at your son.
“I just need somewhere, where my son and I can live in peace and quiet. I can find money on my own, I just need safety.” You started to feel some emotion come onto you upon realizing that you were not only being given just the amortentia, yet it made sense now looking at your still thirties-looking skin and complexion when in fact you were 54 years of age.
Dumbledore seemed to be thinking and pulled Severus over to the side where they were discussing the situation. You could feel yourself shaking with an anxiety that made you feel oddly human, as if you had been some other sort of species for the past thirty-eight years. You watched with hope in your eyes as Dumbledore looked over to you and finally nodded to Severus in a manner that showed he was agreeing.
“We can help set you up with some old friends of mine, however, we would like something in return.” You nodded as soon as he started to ask.
“Whatever it is, I’m willing to pay it,” you placed you hand in front of your mouth as a few tears started to silently spill down your face. You were waiting for them to state their price, but instead Severus slowly slipped his hand into his robe and pulled out a small vial. You calmed quickly as you realized what it was that they wanted. Just thinking about thinking about it made the screams ring in your ears again as if she were right next to you.
“I’ve pushed that memory out for so long,” you stopped speaking to regain your composure. “I’m not sure if I can give you everything,” you admitted but took the vial from Severus.
“Anything you can give us can help,” Dumbledore gently lifted his hand and grasped yours on top of the vial. You let go of your son with your other hand and pulled your wand tip up to your temple and did your best to pull the entire memory from the locked room of your mind. The silvery streak slithered out and you pulled it into the vial where it glittered about.
Dumbledore took the vial and brought you and your son to Hogwarts in secret until nightfall when he sent Severus to escort you out of England forever.
You were left undisturbed for decades until one day when a young man showed up to your house with two other young adults that looked as if they were aged not with time but stress. They explained that a few locals had pointed them in your directions when they tried finding someone who spoke english but you knew better. You invited them in despite their english accents and the scar that you most certainly recognized to be the one your past husband had placed unto a young baby. You had heard of Tom’s return and had been worried that he would come to find you and your son again.
You made your guests each a cup of tea and a snack. They very gratefully ate the food and drank the beverage as if they hadn’t eaten in some time.
“So Mr. Potter, what is it that you wish to ask of me” your voice had grown older and your hands held a few more wrinkles than they had fifteen years ago when you first moved to Austria. He set his tea down on the coffee table between the two of you.
“Have you heard about what has been happening in England,” he stared intently at you. You knew that this was going to be a bit of a long conversation and so you took one final sip of your tea and set it down on the coffee table as well.
“I have an inkling as to what the circumstances are over there, yes,” you crossed your hands over your knee which was crossed over your other leg.
“I know what he did to you,” he stared at me with bright blue eyes, full of a fearful determination I had once seen in Dumbledore. “You know what he can do if he isn’t stopped.” You continued to stare at the boy, and kept your face unreadable. You could tell he was trying not to push you too hard, but at the same time was desperate for your cooperation. You put the boy out of his agony and spoke.
“What is it you are asking of me,” you knew what the general question would be about, but you didn’t feel like sharing every detail of your personal memory.
“We need to know what and where the horcrux’s are,” just the sound of the word reminded you of the terrifying events you had witnessed. You took a moment to compose yourself then relaxed back into the chair feeling your old body feel a little older.
“I only know for certain of two,” you started recalling both of the innocent people who were murdered in the most brutal way possible. You swallowed the bile that rose in your throat and continued. “One was Tom’s journal,” their lack of interest at this made you think that they had already discovered this so you went on to the next. “The other... as I said I can’t be certain.”
“Any sort of lead is going to help us more than you know,” the dark haired boy persisted with a determination in his eyes that resembled the gun that so many young adults shared.
“I believe it was the diadem of Ravenclaw,” you breathed it out once again the horrid scene replaying in your mind.
“You mean the lost diadem of Rowena Ravenclaw,” the mousey brown haired girl spoke finally. You nodded your head once, she seemed to understand the issue of trying to find an item that was lost, yet the two boys still held the hopeful determination in their eyes.
“Do you have any clue where he might be keeping it,” you felt pressure build up in you afraid to give them a false lead. Your memory of your time under the potions that Tom had been giving you was fuzzy. You could remember being there and thinking but you weren’t always sure what was real and what was not.
“I have a memory, that I’m not really sure is true or not. But,” you flicked your hand up to your temple and tapped it like you were trying to wind back a clock, “if I am correct, then it would be at Hogwarts.” You could remember watching Tom place the sparkling headpiece into a velvet lined box which he quickly concealed when he noticed your presence.
“Thank you,” a gentle voice brought you back to the present and you smiled kindly at the children in front of you. You decided in that moment that you would no longer ignore the war that was happening in your home country. Your son was an adult now with a family of his own, you didn’t need to hide any longer. “I don’t know how we can ever repay you,” you stopped him from continuing by raising your hand. You smirked and knew what you needed from him.
“How about, you point me in the direction of that cozy Phoenix group of yours,” you watched all three of them smile at each other then smile back at you with their young worn faces and child eyes.
“Sh... It’ll be alright, just stay quiet and stay put,” you started to close the thermal cell that blocked out the body heat of whatever was within it when one of the little hands that you had been talking to reached out and grabbed the bottom of you shirt.
“Don’t leave us,” the little girls tears had welled up so much that her face had turned red and her mouth was full of saliva upon opening in. You knew how panicked all of them were, but you also knew that you had to go and turn yourself in to him. One of the older children grabbed the little ones hand and pulled her to himself.
“I’ll watch them,” his voice sounded deeper and you weren’t sure if it was because he was trying to sound strong or if we was actually feeling the responsibility that was placed on him. You patted his shoulder and finished shutting the room full of the village children inside the chamber. Before leaving you pulled the collapsable wall across it that disguised it inside the house.
You took no time in waiting to run into the storm that laid beyond the shelter of the house. You should have looked before you stepped out but a shot from a tie fighter threw you across the courtyard and smashing into Deesnlyo’s speederbike. The ringing in your ears disoriented you for a moment as you tried to shake off the fuzzing feeling in your head and the soreness across your entire body.
You could see shots of red and blue being shot all over the place and the white light of the lightning that was striking trees in the distance. You rolled onto your stomach and slowly started to push yourself up from the ground. Your hearing started to come back as a rumbling shook through your entire body from another thunder strike.
“Get over there,” you heard a rough voice growl. When you looked up you saw Deesnlyo, the village elder, being pulled aggressively by a stormtrooper dressed in black. You looked around and found that the stormtroopers were rounding everyone up into a single spot in the middle of the courtyard.
“You,” a voice came from another stormtrooper that was pointing at you with his gun, he stomped over to you and grabbed you by your upper arm and started to pull you with him. You obeyed knowing that he was going to take you to Kylo. Another stormtrooper came over to you and grabbed your other arm and helped escort you to wherever they were taking you. You felt your breath growing shallow, you expected that you would die younger than most people, but in the moment it was a very terrifying thought for you.
You kept your head down even when the troopers stopped you from walking any further. The rain dripped down your hair and fell from the tips of the clumps of hair that hung around your face. You watched one droplet fall from the end of your hair all the way down to where you mud ridden boots were planted into the wet ground. You could see a subtle red glow reflecting in the water that pooled around your feet and you knew he was there.
You brought your face up and found that he had also been looking down. He was bringing his gaze up to meet yours as well from underneath his metal mask. You took a deep breath and knew you didn’t have much longer so you closed your eyes and let yourself enjoy the sensation of the rain falling onto your skin.
“You can’t run anywhere this time,” his voice called out to you.
“Do whatever you want with me, just don’t harm anyone in this village.” He cocked his head to the side appearing to be looking at the group of frightened villagers behind you. He walked forward toward you the light of his lightsaber glowing on your skin the closer he came. He came closer and closer until his face was right by yours and you could swear that some of the hairs on your arm. You weren’t directly at him but in your peripheral vision you could see your reflection in the black metal of his mask. He stood there for what seemed like an eternity.
“Deal,” his cool voice drawled. You clenched your eyes shut and prepared to feel the drive of his saber pass through you, yet it never came. Instead his voice was all that followed. “Bring her to a holding cell.” You snapped your eyes open and looked at him through the mask. The stormtroopers both started to drag you onto the ship that was landed in front of you.
You looked over your shoulder at Kylo Ren who was staring at you through the side of his mask as you were dragged off.
