Day 2: Kyoru with their first son, Hajime, as first time parents
@kyoruweek19 ... Day 3 ... [Selfish]
(Post-Curse, Fluff, Ficlet, Rated G)
There was something beautiful about waking up with his arms around Tohru’s waist, legs tangled together, her chestnut hair tickling his nose (he had to scrunch it in an effort not to sneeze) and knowing that he was allowed to. He enjoyed to. There was no mystical curse, no angry spirits, no annoying dogs to interrupt their time together...
Just them.
Kyo smoothed her hair down and let his hand linger at the back of her head to hold it steady while he bent to give her a gentle kiss.
Or at least, it was just them for the next three hours.
A tiny, adorable, sleepy squeak came from Tohru as she blinked her eyes open and focused on Kyo. A smile brightened her face.
“Good morning, Kyo,” she breathed sleepily.
Something warm blazed in his chest at her expression and he squeezed her close to him, wondering how one person could possibly love another as much as he loved her.
“You’ve got no right being this cute this early in the morning y’know.”
Tohru giggled. “Sorry.”
For a little while neither of them moved; she was tucked under his chin in that place where she fit perfectly, breathing slowly and evenly, and Kyo knew he would happily spend the rest of the day there with her if he could.
As if following his train of thought Tohru shifted slightly in his embrace. “Kyo- Kyo we need to get ready for the party.”
“Nope. We’re staying here now. Not going. Can’t make me.”
“I’m not sure, but, I think everyone might notice if we don’t turn up to our own engagement party,” she said, amusement dancing in her voice.
"You know I can’t argue with you,” he whispered, bringing her hand up to his mouth and kissing her engagement ring gently. “But let me be selfish and have you all to myself just a little while longer.”
The Nights are Shorter With You
Kyoru Week- Day 1: Stay
I read a fanfiction with a similar premise and just had to make my own version.
He heard it on accident. That little sniffle coming from the other room.
He thought he was imagining it, but he couldn’t leave it be. To confirm it, he walked over to her door and placed his ear against it. When he heard that sound again, he didn’t hesitate to knock. “Tohru?” he quietly asked.
The night was silent for a long while, but he waited until she answered the door. When he did, the night prevented him from seeing her well and clear, but there was enough light for him to make out that she was grinning, though it was likely forced. “Kyo. What brings you by so late in the evening?”
He frowned at her. “I heard you, you know.”
Instantly, her smile vanished.
Day 1: Stay
You guys are funny if you didn’t think I was going to attempt Kyoru week! This ship is my everything and while I’m super busy, I’m going to try my hardest to show my love for these two!
That being said, day 1 is stay. And tbh all I could think about is something angsty. Something like them clinging onto each other. And that’s where this came into light!
Kyoru Week: Day 2 - Firsts
I’m gonna be honest, I wrote this in like 2hrs; it’s nearly 1am (so I missed the deadline for the 2nd day in a row), and so I haven’t really edited it. Sorry if there’s any typos. I’ll try to do a good polish/edit tomorrow when I’m awake again. :P
UPDATE: K. It should be all edited now. ^_^ UPDATE #2: I forgot to mention that you can also read this story on AO3, on FFN, or on DA

Experience It All
Spoilers: Story is post high school graduation Romance Level: Newly Dating Word Count: 1493 Summary: It's the first apartment Kyo ever owned. The first one he and TOHRU ever owned. And he becomes surprised as to how many more "firsts" they have to go.
Kyo was buzzing with nervous energy. The keys to their new place clinked against each other as he spun the ring around his index finger, catching the keys and then spinning them in the opposite direction. Spin clockwise. Catch. Clink. Spin counter-clockwise. Catch. Clink. Spin clockwise again.
“Is this it?” Tohru clung to Kyo's left arm. She had been taking in the quaintness of the village he had moved her to, but upon hearing the jingle of the keys, she focused on the building before them.
“It's gonna be small,” Kyo warned, not moving as he took in the apartment complex. “It's not going to be like Shigure's place, or your grandfather's.”
“That's okay. Mom and I used to have a small place. Besides, I'm sure it will be way bigger than a tent.” She giggled, and hugged Kyo's arm close.
She had spent months in that tent, alone in woods she didn't realize had belonged to the affluent Sohma family.
Months. Alone.
Kyo had never been alone. Not really. He had been neglected, sure, and might as well have been alone. Still, he always had an adult near by. When he was real young it was his mother. Then, after she died and Kyo was all but disowned by his father, Kazuma Sohma took him in. He had loved Kyo, and the boy took that love for granted. Worse. He didn't accept that it was real, not before he met Tohru. Even when Kyo was lost within himself - after failing to save Tohru's mother – he wasn't alone. Kazume spirited him away to recover and revive. Then it was Shigure's turn to watch over Kyo.
For someone who felt isolated and unloved, he always had a guiding hand. He was the adult now; almost. He wasn't living in someone else's house anymore. This was his place. He held keys for his home. He was the master of this place. He wasn't sure he was ready for that sort of responsibility. Why couldn't he be a stupid kid again?

For @kyoruweek19: Day 2 - Firsts
The rat always came first.
“Kyo, would you like to hold your son?”
Tohru smiles at him with tired eyes, strands of hair plastered to her neck. She reaches a hand out to him, beckoning him closer, fingers catching on air.
Kyo walks over and grasps her hand in his, bringing it to his lips. His eyes nervously settle on the bundle in her arms.
“I-is it okay?”
Tohru laughs. “Of course. Come here.”
She drags his hand and places it on top of the swaddle of blankets before shifting it over to touch tiny tufts of orange hair. Rosy cheeks peek out through the cloth, a slight quirk of eyebrow, a disgruntled whine.
Kyo attempts a smile through his tears. “H-ha, he’s just like me. So grumpy..”
“He is, isn’t he?” Tohru replies, “So handsome too.”
Kyo leans on Tohru, turning to give her a kiss on the temple. Bending down, he plants another on the crown of his newborn son’s head.
“To new beginnings,” he whispers. And, like a prayer of blessing, “And to new journeys where you’ll always be first-
“Hajime.”
Kyoru ficlet for @kyoruweek19 & Starsobafictober @thewritingstar prompts Stay & Haunted House 👻
“I-I don’t know Kyo,” Tohru looked at the creepily decorated structure looming before them. Their old high school had done a great job turning one of the buildings into a haunted house. So well in fact, she barely recognized it. This holiday was a growing fad in Japan, and this school was reaping the benefits of catering to the craze.
“It’ll be fine,” Kyo takes her hand, raising it to place a chaste kiss on its back along the knuckles. “I’ll be here to protect you from all the monsters.”
“Promise,” her bright eyes begging that he better stay right by her side.”
Kyo chuckles, lifting their still joined hands over his heart, “forever and ever, I promise.”
“Oh-Kay,” she beams.
He leads her through, keeping to his promise by placing his arm around her shoulders and his other hand in his pocket, just in case. It would be bad if he ended up decking a kid by accident. Even knowing the purpose is to scare, fight or flight instincts were highly ingrained in his psyche.
So to make it easier on himself, Kyo focuses on the still slightly trembling woman beside him. It made him chuckle. Tohru was so scared and yet absolutely excited every time some creepy ghoul or trumped up vampire or half rotting zombie jumped out to scare them. Hell, he had to admit many of the costumes were spot on! The amount of work these kids had done was nothing short of amazing!
Smoky dim hallways and strobe lighting effects, strange sounds or eerie silence till the screams began again, brought a sense of the macabre. They loved all the scenarios that were set up. From graveyards to old mansion-like rooms, even a dilapidated hospital morgue. Kyo thought that one was the most creepy. Just the idea of a place of healing being turned into a ward of death gave him the shivers.
“How are you doing Tohru?” Kyo checks on his wife as they walk out of the exit. “Still have all your fingers and toes?” He chuckles. “No vampires bit ya?”
“Ha ha,” she jests, but it’s clear by the big smile on her face she was totally fine. “It wasn’t so bad since I had a protector the whole way.”
Kyo leans down and kisses her. “I’d take a zombie bite for you,” he grins, “but then I’d probably bite you after so you can’t leave me.”
“I’d never leave your side,” she hums with a sense of pride.
“I know.” He kisses her again. “Shall we get dinner before heading home?”

He couldn’t believe it. It couldn’t be true. It all had to be a very good dream. A miserable one when he’d awaken from it.
Kyo could finally hug her- and his head couldn’t wrap itself around that.
Emotion bubbled out from his chest as he enveloped his strong arms around her petite waist. Tohru felt warm. She felt like- like Tohru. Hugging her for the first time without transforming into a strange orange house pet filled him with an unknown warmth that spread itself like wildfire through every inch of his body.
Tears spilled silently as he yanked that damn bracelet of his wrist, the snapping sound filling the silence as both Tohru and he held their breaths.
Clack. Clack. Clack.
The thunderous sound of the beads crashing on the cement of the park resonated as they rolled off in every direction, finally having broken free of their thread. Kyo was finally free. The cat had managed to escaped his faith.
He was sure it was because of her. She was always the answer for everything good that happened in his life.
Tohru had spent the remaining quarter of the hour of their time at the park picking up each fallen bead, cradling it within her hands all whilst she wept. It had also set part of her free when the animals of the zodiac had said their final goodbyes to God.
