Surprise, itâs finally here, 18000 years later, since I take forever to write anything, apparently. And I have the immune system of a pea and get sick around 13 times a year, and with that Iâm not even exaggerating.
Things have been hectic (for the good, but mostly for the bad) in my life lately, so I sincerely apologize for the major delay in publishing this chapter. Itâs a big year since Iâm starting my application to vet school, on top of classes and caring for a very needy kitten. Iâve also gotten sick over the past 3 days so I apologize for that as well. Iâve taken every cold medication under the sun, and even that didnât help me this time.
I apologize for any typos and mistakes, Iâm heavily under the influence of several kinds of cold medication.Â

Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months. Inuyashaâs progress in both his speech and his overall social skills advanced smoothly. Ahead of schedule actually. This elated Kagome for the sake of both her subject and her project. This meant that all the effort and faith she put into it would finally be able to pay off in the end.
When she turned over to check the time on her bedside clock, she rubbed the sleep out of her eyes and the crinkling of her duvet cover alerted her room companion that sheâd awakened.
The clock read 5:00 AM.
Today was the big day.
Beware, this fic contains major spoilers of the manga series!Â
---
He couldnât believe it. It couldnât be true. It all had to be a very good dream. A miserable one when heâd awaken from it.
Kyo could finally hug her- and his head couldnât wrap itself around that.
Emotion bubbled out from his chest as he enveloped his strong arms around her petite waist. Tohru felt warm. She felt like- like Tohru. Hugging her for the first time without transforming into a strange orange house pet filled him with an unknown warmth that spread itself like wildfire through every inch of his body.
Tears spilled silently as he yanked that damn bracelet of his wrist, the snapping sound filling the silence as both Tohru and he held their breaths.
Clack. Clack. Clack.
The thunderous sound of the beads crashing on the cement of the park resonated as they rolled off in every direction, finally having broken free of their thread. Kyo was finally free. The cat had managed to escaped his faith.
He was sure it was because of her. She was always the answer for everything good that happened in his life.
Tohru had spent the remaining quarter of the hour of their time at the park picking up each fallen bead, cradling it within her hands all whilst she wept. It had also set part of her free when the animals of the zodiac had said their final goodbyes to God.
The rest of the walk home was quiet. It wasnât an uncomfortable silence. Neither of them had anything to say. All that mattered was that they could finally be together after all that time, with no strings attached, literally.
Their hands were clasped together, either of them too afraid to let go. They silently feared that if they let go of each other, the curse would somehow revert itself back to being present, the dayâs events too good to be true.
---
Arriving home felt surreal. The quietness as they made their way through the entrance was unsettling. Kyo nor Tohru felt ready to break the silence either. What ifâwhat if when they acknowledged the fact that they were together, it would end this unrealistic dream?
Words werenât necessary in this case, though. A permanent rosy colour painting their cheeks and the occasional soft smile whenever their eyes met was enough communication the two had to make. They simply understood one another.
Both young adults ambled to the living room, Kyo taking a seat facing the kitchen and Tohru continuing towards it to prepare some tea.
Her dainty hands trembled as she descended two mugs from the cabinet above her head. She filled the kettle with enough tap water for two and the familiar clicking sounds of the stove being turned on resonated throughout the main living area. Â
It took a few minutes for the kettle to boil, giving Tohru a moment to collect her thoughts. What now? She hadnât envisioned this far, not after the incident that brought her into the hospital. But that didnât matter anymore; She and Kyo were finally together, and thatâs all she had ever wished for. She shouldnât be more selfish than that.
The screech of the water having reached its boiling temperature and the clasping of the fluttering cap as it expelled puffs of warm humid air caught her by surprise. She squeaked in response, clutching the side of the kitchen counter she was leaning against.
âIdiot, itâs just the kettle. You started it in the first place,â a gentle male voice replied behind her. She felt his warm and tender hands snake around her waist once more.
Kyo held her tightly, refusing to let go. He pressed his chin to the top of her head, smelling her bodyâs natural perfume.
Tohru, Tohru, Tohru. The only word that filled his brain.
He couldnât get enough of her.
âIâm sorry I got scared Kyo-kun. I didnât expect the water to boil so soon,â she replied, giggling a few times and breathing a sigh of contentment as she felt the kindhearted presence of her now boyfriend directly against her.
His teasing dramatic sigh sent them both in a laughing fit as they captured this precious memory in their minds. One of many they would make as a couple, that was certain.
---
The evening came and went, the pair eating dinner alone without the company of the other inhabitants of the house.
âI wonder what Shigure-san and Yuki-kun are up to. I should prepare them a plate just in case they arrive and havenât already eaten,â she pondered aloud, mostly to herself.
âAh, donât bother with them. They can feed themselves. At this rate, theyâre probably all together at the main house weeping about the curse,â Kyo replied nonchalantly, shrugging his shoulders.
âBut- but thatâs no good! I should call them to see if theyâre okay,â Tohru answered, panic lacing her voice as she pushed herself up from her seated position at the living-room table, eyes fixated on the hall where the telephone was located.
âTohru,â he retorted as his hand reached out to grab her wrist before she got away too far from him, âyouâre making too big a deal out of this. Theyâll come when theyâre ready.â
âYouâre probably right,â she mumbled, tears starting to well up in her eyes as she gazed into his feline-shaped ones.
The petite girl slumped back down on the ground, sitting beside Kyo this time.
âThatâs my idiot,â he said, gently stroking her hair as he pulled her into a side embrace, resting his head atop of hers.
Tohru snuggled deeper to his side, humming pleasantly as she could finally be close to the one she loved. Never had she envisioned this day truly become a reality. She hated to be pessimistic, but the thought of the curse breaking and hugging the orange haired boy sheâd grown so fond of, was only in her furthest fantasies.
---
The two of them had been inseparable throughout the day, joined by the hip. Tohru had insisted they wait for Yuki and Shigure, only for 9 pm to roll around. At that point, Kyo got impatient and decided heâd head up to his room.
âYouâre welcome to join me, Iâm probably just going to do a bit of reading or training, nothing exciting,â he told her, trying not to sound too hopefully. Heâd become soft, that he knewâbut he hadnât become that soft.
âOkay! Let me go get a book too!â she exclaimed, thrilled by the invitation.
Her heart started to race even more when she bounded up the stairs, Kyo trailing behind her at a much slower pace. Heâd never invited her in his room to âhang-outâ before. Tohru knew that boyfriends and girlfriends became intimate with one another over time, but she was certain thatâs not what Kyo had intended. They could finally be at peace and spend time together without the risk of being forcefully torn apart. And that was the greatest feeling of all.
âSlow down or youâll trip and fall,â his voice resonated down the hall behind her as she had already practically made her way up to her room a few doors down.
She giggled and turned to beam at him, giving one of her signatures smiles before waltzing through her roomâs doorway. He chuckled and returned her smile. A true smile.
Tohru hurriedly rummaged through her small collection of belongings. She had a few books that Hana and Uo had lent or given to her over the years, grabbing a few of them she thought could be interesting.
It hadnât even been a few minutes before Kyo heard a soft rapping noise at his door.
âCome in,â she heard from behind the door.
As she turned the doorknob slowly and stepped inside his room, she tried to memorize each aspect. Kyo had been a fairly secretive person with his personal life and she hadnât had many opportunities to see his room.
He must have noticed she was staring at her surroundings as he proclaimed, âBoring, I know.â
Tohru wouldnât call his room boring. It just wasnât lavish or extravagant, and there was nothing wrong about that. It was very natural, just like him.
âNu-huh. Itâs just like Kyo-kun,â she declared in all certainty.
âGoof.â
It didnât take her long to join him around the small table in the middle of the room. He offered her a pillow to sit on and the two sat crossed legged, beside one another like the lovey-dovey lovebirds they were. The window was open so the occasional cicada or bird noise could be heard, but apart from that, only the sound of beating hearts filled the room.
Minutes turned into hours before Kyo noticed that the slumped-up figure beside him had fallen asleep. She had said nothing or really moved during the entire time they were reading, and he had been too engrossed in his novel he didnât even notice her falling asleep.
He tried as best as he could to remove the magazine she had been looking at. It was open at a page of a local zoo not too far from the Sohma residence. Perhaps sheâd been wanting to go? Heâd have to be certain to ask her about it tomorrow.
Kyo slipped the pages out of her delicate hands and placed it on the table. Now would be the tricky part. How could he reposition her to a futon without waking her up? Luckily for him, his girlfriend was a deep sleeper and despite gently placing her against the floor as he wriggled to get off with as little movement as possible, she hadnât stirred.
He let out a breath he wasnât even aware he had been holding as he stood up to set up his futon close to the window. He unrolled the soft bedcovers and placed his two pillows side by side.
As he went to pick up Tohru, she let out a few unintelligible mumbles below her breath. Whatever she was dreaming about, it seemed serious the way her eyebrows were drawn so closely together.
He gently laid her down on his bed and covered her small frame with his large futon cover. Kyo tucked her in before getting back up to get changed. He had been wearing the same sweater since this morning and it was too warm to sleep in it. Browsing in his dresser, he pulled out a plain blue t-shirt and a pair of black sweats with a white stripe running down each leg.
Kyo had two choices. He could either risk waking her up when he exited the room since his door squeaked, or he could pray she wouldnât wake up and change technically in front of her.
He chose the latter.
Swallowing up his pride, he turned his back to her and faced the wall. He stripped down to his boxers and quickly pulled over his night garments. Peaking over his shoulder, he noticed that  Tohru had turned onto her side, but was still taking deep shallow breaths. Good, she hadnât woken up.
Deep down, had he wanted her to wake up? Did he want her to see him in that way now that they had confessed each otherâs love?
No! There was no way in hell that Kyo was thinking such impure thoughts! He shook his head a few times hoping it would chase that kind of thinking away. There was no way he could think like that yet. Plus, he highly doubted Tohru would even ever think of him like that. Fuck no. What in the world had gotten into him?
He sighed and ran his hands from his face to his hair trying to shake off these feelings that had steadily grown over the past year. Not today, he told himself.
Kyo placed himself on the ground beside the futon and slipped one of his floor cushions under his head. He curled up with his back facing her. Unable to sleep due to his racing heart, he stared at the stars and the moon outside of his window.
An hour passed by before he heard the commotion happening on the floor below. The rest of the household had finally arrived home. He wouldnât go see them, though, he could deal with them tomorrow morning when he had more energy. For now, heâd enjoy these last few minutes with Tohru before sheâd wake up and would realize that sheâd fallen asleep in the wrong room.
He heard the knocking down the hall which was presumably the oh-so-perfect rat trying to check if she was awake.
His assumption had been right as the knocking sound was quickly followed by a faint, but still distinguishable, âMiss Honda?â
Obviously, there had been no response.
Donât you dare come here and embarrass her, you darned rat!
Kyo turned to face her when he heard her stir beside him. Apparently, the commotion of the entryway was enough noise to wake her. Her eyes struggled to open as she let out a soft wince. Her hands came up to her eyes, and she methodically rubbed the sleepiness out of them.
âK-Kyo-kun?â she asked as she was greeted with the sight of him lying on his side, prompting his head up with his hand.
âMhm?â
âI should probably go to sleep,â she mumbled as she tried to push herself off from her comfortable position.
âCan you please⊠stay?â Kyo murmured, so softly he doubted she even heard him.
Tohruâs face flushed and even in the room's darkness, it was visible. She gave him a slight nervous nod. Her eyes looked at the floor and a small smile tugged at her lips.
She scooted towards the side of the futon to allow him some room under the blanket. Kyo didnât have to be told twice. He moved off the floor and onto the soft surface where he could be close to her.
âTurn over,â he whispered.
And she obliged. He cuddled up to her, acting as if he was the bigger spoon and rested his hands around her waist, pulling her in.
It felt so warm. So right.
As they were both drifting to sleep, he was certain he heard her whispering, âdonât tell Shigure.â
So, I ended up writing the thing. Honestly, I hope it came out okay. I feel so nervous about posting this since I havenât written anything but class notes for that past 4 years. Enjoy!

Then Came the Knight
The day had started like any other. Well, as any other day should have started when you travel back in time 500 years in order to continue the rest of your life with the one you love.
The elegant priestess in training was accompanying her teacher in order to help the delivery of a baby in a nearby village. Her rough nâ tough lover, not too ecstatic about her leaving his line of sight, had definitely shared his thoughts on the matter with her that same morning when she announced her departure.
âWhat do you mean, itâs going to be fine? Youâre with Kaede. That olâ hag ainât able to fight off a mouse,â he sputtered while his ears pinned back in annoyance.
Kagome sighed. She understood where he came from. It hadnât even been two weeks since the young couple had been reunited with one another. Both the young priestess along with her silver-haired hanyou simply couldnât get enough of each other. Inuyasha refused to let her out of his sight, always watching her, brushing up against her, being her shadow wherever she went. It also didnât help that their marriage was only a week away, leaving the half-demon extremely protective of his soon-to-be wife.

How had he even found out about her secret? There was something immensely fishy about this whole situation and Kagome decided sheâd get to the bottom of it.
She had told no one, hadnât slipped up once. Hadnât posted about it on social media either, not that she had a very large presence, to begin with. Could he be stalking her? He hadnât given her that impression, but you never knew in this day and age.
Psychoanalysis might help her determine what Kouga was trying to accomplish by putting her on the spot like that, but itâs not something she could just do on the fly. Freudâs theory would be a problem sheâd have to deal with tonight at this rate.Â
âKouga, Iâm not sure what you mean. Is itââ
âShe got herself a pet dog, can you believe it?â he cut her off, not paying her the slightest grain of attention.
He ignored her completely as if sheâd said nothing, that mother fucking jerk. Sheâd show him a thing or two. She wasnât just a hunk of meat he could ignore whenever he wanted to and get her to give him attention whenever he desired it. Â
âDid he have issues with his motherly figure when he was a child?â she wondered, incapable of stopping herself from resorting ï»żto using psychology.
Boisterous cackle thundered from the back of the office where Mukotsuâs desk was located, âWait, you mean the Kagome Higurashi got a dog? Youâre talking about the one who continuously claims to be a cat person because dogs are filthy?â
Oh. Thatâs why they reacted.
But seriously, how did he figure out sheâd come in contact with a âdogâ. This story didnât add up. Could Kouga know more than he was letting on? Â
Iâve been quite sick lately and also been dealing with a very rambunctious kitten that doesnât enjoy my auntâs very annoying and untrained puppy.
Microsoft Word and my computer, in general, have also been giving me issues? Iâve reinstalled it so many times and it finally seems to have fixed the problemâat least I hope!
Sorry for the delay, hereâs the new chapter.

All she wanted was an uneventful morning spent shopping. Some peace and quiet from the excitement that had found itself in her once serene home. Some wishful thinkingthat was.
Kagome didnât even have the time to set foot into the brightly illuminated shopping center when the sliding automatic doors opened and a tall figure beelined for her general direction. Two other figures trailed closely behind trying to keep up with the enthusiastic man half-jogging towards her.
When he was close enough in view for her to distinguish his identity, she inwardly groaned. Great, just what she needed.
Iâm pretty sure that Iâll try to upload this series every Sunday. However, I canât make the promise itâll always be released on time due to the fact that Iâm pretty much always on call for work. I absolutely need this summer job even if the schedule is pretty crappy since Iâm applying to vet school in September and need a secondary vet on my application. Oh well. My s/o is also on weird night-shift schedules 7 on/ 7 off, possibly changing to 10 on/4 off out of town, and since I havenât seen him for the last 4 months really, I want to spend some time with him. Plus, Iâm the process of adopting an adorable kitten, in two Saturdays from now, so Iâll be missing in action that entire weekend since sheâs 10 hours away from where I currently live.
So, Iâll try my best to stick to this schedule, but it might not always be feasible. Â
I also want to thank everyone for the kind words and all the positive feedback on this story so far! It really warms my heart! I originally had no idea how this story idea would turn-out, but Iâm glad people enjoy it!
Iâve been editing this for over 8 hours and Iâm certain itâs still covered in grammatical errors. I apologize!Â

After the tub had finished filling with warm water at a level she deemed acceptable, the professor figured it was time to invite over her new housemate. Sheâd have to think of a clever way of luring him out because he had taken off the second he had realised what was about to happen.
He was just like a puppy - curious at first, but gone in a flash at the sudden sight of danger.
Kagome scanned the bathroom for the nearly naked figure. Nowhere in sight.Â
The woman grunted in displeasure at his sudden decision to finally not be in her way. That annoying dog hadnât left her line of sight all day and he was finally choosing now for his great escape when she needed him.Â
She peeked around the corner of the doorframe. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary in the dimly light corridor.Â
Her next stop- the living room. She scanned every nook and cranny of the area, turning over her fuzzy blankets, checking behind the chic cream-colored leather couch. He was not here either.Â
The same could be said of the kitchen. The white-haired man had not chosen to hide in her barren fridge or one of her cluttered cupboards. There was still no sight of the half-demon anywhere.
How could someone that had pestered her all day disappear just as suddenly?
The last place she determined was an acceptable hiding place for a full-grown man was her bedroom, which she had purposely locked earlier that morning to prevent him from going inside. This time, she was certain she had double-checked the door on her way to fill the tub and she couldnât blame it on her sleep-laden brain like she had done the previous night.
When she turned the knob to test the door and make sure she truly wasnât losing her marbles, it was unlocked. Â
https://inuyashasnook.tumblr.com/post/184932707221/feral-chapter-twoSo, I wrote something based on this head cannon I have where Inuyasha is actually very smart, but no one in his life has ever given him a chance to prove himself because heâs a half demon. This story idea is also heavily based on the psychological phenomenon of feral children.
This is only the second piece I do in a long time, but I hope it meets expectations! I will try to update this series once weekly and will post its updates on a scheduled time. Iâm currently in the process of moving back home for the summer and starting my new summer job at a vet clinic, so once thatâs settled Iâll post more info.
Iâve been editing this for the past 6 hours so I apologize for any grammar mistakes. (My s/o who was supposed to proofread it for me decided that 4000+ was too many words, so I really sincerely apologize for any mistakes!)Â

Kagome let out a groan as she stretched and leaned back in her chair. Sheâd spent the entire day looking at her computer screen answering emails and working on her current research project. Unfortunately, it wasnât going anywhere, and she was afraid sheâd have to flunk the project altogetherâthus was the life of a psychology professor at a highly competitive university. She wasnât sure what sheâd do if she couldnât find another research thesis soon or sheâd run out of funding and get in trouble with the department advisor.
The raven-haired woman glanced outside the window next to her desk and realized that it had gotten dark outside since the last time she checked.
Crap, Iâve stayed here way too late again she thought to herself.
Unhurriedly, she saved her work and turned off her monitor. As she was packing her bags to head out, she realized that sheâd have to walk home since her usual ride had already left hours ago. Kouga, another of the psychology professors usually drove her home after work since the beginning of the semester. She thought he was a lovely fellow, but was a little pushy at times. Needless to say, she was grateful for everything he did for her so she didnât press her luck and tell him to tone it down for fear she would hurt him.
As she stepped out of the building where her workplace stood, the fresh crisp air of the night filled her lungs and she breathed a sigh of relief. The young professor had been spending too much time cooped up inside her office, she felt like she would lose it one of these days. Â
The complete silence of the area was making her skin crawl. The street lamps gave off their weak rays of light and made her feel as if she was being watched as in a horror movie. There was no one in sight, the campus grounds deserted compared to during the day, bustling with busy students rushing to their classes. Â
The worst part was that her path home was only dimly lit, being a little woodsy off-road on the side of campus. The tree-filled gravel road made it hard to see where to put her footing, which often led her to trip a few times before making it to her final destination. As she made her way there, the words of her coworkers rang into her head.Â
âHey, did you hear? Apparently, the campus police tried to arrest a student last night. He was acting off. Iâm thinking he was probably on drugs or something because apparently, he was barking at the officers and growled at them when they tried to approach him. You know whatâs the worst part? He got away! Supposedly, he jumped up on a dumpster and then onto the roof of the science building! Iâd avoid walking at night alone if I were you, especially until that weirdo gets caught!â she had overheard from a professor working in the sociology department tell her friend.
But, she was almost off of school grounds now, so she was safe, right? If only life was that easyâŠ
