A Gintama episode a day keeps the ending away...Episode 55
The anime team tacked on like 10 minutes of the next episode (one of my faves) but it still got its own title card.
MY 9 FAVORITE MOMENTS IN EPISODE 55 (manga chaps 105, 106 and a little of 101):
1) Editor Oonishi should have written his own Mother’s Day card instead of having Sorachi-sama do it for him...poor guy is much maligned.
2) The hosts with the most.
3) That old woman should have been totally dead.
4) The manliest sleepover.
5) Kagura’s cool log attack.
6) I felt soooo bad for Katsuo...his poor face was RIGHT THERE when the old woman farted. I wanted to throw up just seeing that.
7) I think I liked Katsuo pretty early on because of how much he loved his little dog, Meru-chan. Man’s a sweetheart...even if he’s a yakuza.
8) I really didn’t like Hachirou’s mom and I was glad she was leaving, but still, as soon as Kyoushirou opened that letter from her, I always tear up and then by this point I would be full on crying. Moms are the best.
9) I used to have this song on repeat for gods know how many times. Heck, every time I hear it again I would go through a small stretch of repeat marathon. Love it!
SHIPS TALLY:
Katsuo x Kyoushirou: I was so happy that Katsuo even noticed Kyoshirou’s hair to that degree.
Gintoki x Katsuo: Gin-chan WAS servicing him.
Kondou x Hijikata: they were sharing a newspaper which was kinda cute and worrying over Sougo’s antics like two anxious dads.
Disclaimer: Gintama is not only about shipping. Gintama is hilarious, clever, exciting, poignant, heart-breaking, loving, brilliant, and just completely unbelievably amazing. It is only due to Sorachi-sama’s immense generosity that I am able enjoy Gintama on an extra another level, the shippy level, and I am forever grateful for that. GINTAMA IS LIFE AND LOVE.

There’s really no other way to respond to that scene lol
I DID IT
As per usual of Kabukichou, you can’t be a true distraction unless you’re pulling out some idiotically heartwarming shtick out of your ass.
A Gintama episode a day keeps the ending away...Episode 54
MY 7 FAVORITE MOMENTS IN EPISODE 54 (manga chaps 104 and 105):
1) HOW CAN SHE BE SO FREAKING ADORABLE EVEN WITH BEAD HEAD AND A SNOT BUBBLE COMING OUT OF HER NOSE??? We are not worthy of Kagura.
2) This broke my heart a little because that is probably the most complete meal they’ve ever had in their home. Our Yorozuya babies really need a mom to take care of them sometimes. Or at least to cook some healthy meals for them.
3) Kyoushirou is so pretty.
4) We are truly not worthy of the Queen.
5) None of these lowly beings were worthy of servicing the Queen....but at least they were better looking in the anime than in the manga. Those dudes didn’t even deserve to be in her presence.
6) Ok, that profile looks nothing like the Jirochou we know. The funny thing is, these panels were not featured in the manga....Gin-chan only spoke about the 4 devas, they weren’t shown...so the anime team could have easily just avoided this discrepancy.
7) The Tamagahara hosts should’ve just gone home as soon as they appeared. In fact, all the hosts in Kabukichou could have just gone home for the day cuz who really can compare to radiant awesomeness of these three??
SHIPS TALLY:
I am absolutely not going to count Gintoki/Hachirou’s mom because I love him too much to do that to him. And although I personally ship Katsuo/Kyoushirou, it was really just based on the fact that Katsuo called Kyoushirou “Kyoushirou-han” in the ep, which is kinda insane so I’ll leave it for next time.

A Gintama chapter a day keeps the ending away...Lesson 621
Gorgeous bonus color image for this chapter:
MY 16 FAVORITE MOMENTS IN LESSON 621:
Loved seeing so many familiar faces popping up again!
1) Otose is really so awesome.
2) Katsuo!! I was so happy to see him!
3) I don’t care if it’s all due to plastic surgery, I still think he’s pretty.
4) These two guys really should not be talking about spreading viruses. Lol.
5) Lmao. Gross.
6) Seeing the town band together like this just warmed my soul.
7) Love Catherine’s words!
8) Even though I didn’t really think we would lose Tae-chan, this was still a heart-stopping moment.
9) This sequence...one of the best in the arc...the Yorozuya working together as one to save Tae-chan...
10) ...even though they weren’t entirely successful. Shinpachi’s expression made my heart hurt.
11) So freaking disturbing...and I wanted the Shinra to die a thousand times for being total monsters.
12) Otose is just so badass. Sure, she knew help had arrived, but that blade still got way too close for comfort yet she didn’t flinch at all.
13) YES! HA! Take that you Shinra bastards!
14) I thought someone would catch Tae-chan...of course I hoped it would be Kondou...but this was a pleasant surprise. Gin-chan’s fall position is hilarious.
15) Pirako!! Was THRILLED to see her again! Couldn’t wait to see how much stronger she got under her dad’s tutelage.
16) Jirochou making a boss AF entrance.
SHIPS TALLY:
None really, even though Katsuo and Kyoushirou were arguing it just didn’t feel shippy enough, especially since they were talking about spreading their virus to women...lotsa love for the town tho.

Gintama anime ep 349/manga chaps 615, 616, 617, 618, and 619
Dear Gintama gods and Sorachi-sama,
Please allow me to humbly express to you what I am most thankful for in this episode:
- this GinHiji and OkiKagu moment in the opening credits, which I only stupidly noticed in this episode,
- the reference that is still funny even though I’ve given up on that particular show more than a year ago,
- Gintoki’s detachable balls,
- Tae-chan the fighter in action,
- Saigou the ball crusher,
- The Queen of Kabukichou,
- the copping a feel ball crushing club,
- this super (kinda useless) M,
- teamwork,
- Kyuu-chan,
- her smile,
- the cool albeit brief return of the Yagyuu Elite Four,
- an indulgent grandpa,
- students of the Yagyuu Chinkage Style and the Chinko Volunteer Squad,
- the attack from FOUR directions,
- more strong women warriors,
and lastly, my favorite manga to anime moment:
“You’re the ones who don’t get it. War is an act that affects men, women and children equally and reduces them all to ashes. Surely you didn’t start this war unprepared to swing your clubs at babies and kids. Surely you’re not standing before me unprepared to be cut down by women or children!”
That speech by Kyuubei: I loved it in the manga and even though it’s changed a little in the anime, I love it even more. She was clearly the MVP of this episode...oozing coolness in every single frame she was in. I have always loved Kyuu-chan but I think I totally fell in love with her here. Somehow she seemed even more dashing in animated form. If Tae-chan had run off with her as a result of this episode, I would have totally understood. Apologies to Kondou. But overall this episode was just so amazing, perfectly capturing the thrilling action within all four chapters in a breath-taking manner. I wish BNP didn’t have to skimp on the animation of some of the facial shots, but I understand why they have to start conserving their budget since there are many more awesome action-packed moments to come that would require all of their resources. I loved seeing all the townspeople take part in defending the town, this was really one of the highlights of the arc, so I am grateful we got to see the events brought to life. Thank you for giving us these great moments and please do not let Gintama end.
Yours truly,
A silly fangirl with yaoi dreams
