★ kageyama literally freezes. his body takes a screenshot. his ears perk up and his eyes widen and he has to fight the smile breaking out on his face. his cheeks get all red too and he has to calm himself down before he sees you.

★ kyoutani's heart starts beating faster and he lets a little smirk slip (he's really fighting a grin though). comes over to you quick and wraps an arm around your waist, pulling you close to him, a little more confidence in his step.

★ sakusa blushes behind his mask, smiling to himself. feels all lovey after and cuddles you a lot. secretly wants you to refer to him as only that from now on. gets kinda bothered when you don't.

★ suna pauses and comes over to you, no shame. 'so your man, huh?' all smug. only accepts that title from now on when you're talking about him. will interrupt you when he hears you on the phone calling him by his name, 'who?' leaves you alone when you correct yourself.

Spa-Day - Kyoutani x Reader

The water is hot, but not too hot. If you could stay here forever, you probably would, floating on clouds of scented foam. The background music is a little annoying, but you can blend out the brainless tunes.

You put your head underwater, let your hair float until you have to come back up for air.

The sight has you squealing like a mouse, jumping back on instinct.

Kentarō is scowling at you, brows furrowed, nose barely above water level. He looks like he's just done planning your murder. And the murder of your family.

"Baby!" You press a hand to your chest, heart racing underneath your wrinkled skin. "You scared the shit out of me."

His brows unfurl and he blinks, one, two, three times.

"Sorry," he mumbles, voice so low you can barely catch it over the music and the sloshing of water. But you can feel his hands grab you by the hips, pull you in like he always does. "Didn't mean to."

"What got you so upset?" You ask, hands running through his wet hair. He's sitting on a ledge in the shallow part of the pool, a place that's normally bustling with activity, especially when the jacuzzi jets are turned on. But you always go to the bath in the early morning , when the pools are almost empty and no chatter drones out the annoying music.

"Nothing," Kentarō claims, "I think it's the music."

"Nuh-uh," it's your turn to furrow your brows at him. "You're lying. You know I can tell when you're lying. Tell me? Please?"

"Fine," He huffs, wrinkled fingertips playing with the strings of your bikini top. "Seno made a stupid comment at training."

"What about?"

He huffs again. Averts his eyes. You dig your fingertips into his side, right where he's the most ticklish. He pulls back and glares, but he opens his mouth.

"Spa Days are unmanly, apparently."

You snort. "Says who?"

"Seno."

"And Seno is the world's leading expert on manliness since when?"

Kentarō's lips pull up, even if just a little.

"Well, I told him to shove it, but... I don't know... it kinda stuck? I was thinking about it just now."

"Hmm..." You playfully put a finger against your lip as if you have to think really hard about it. "If you ask me, you're really manly. The manliest of them all. You could wear pink shirts to work and you'd still not lose any manliness."

Kentarō grins, proud and a little smug. He knows just how well he pulled of that pink shirt last date night.

"And?"

"And you never care about what other people think," you remind him, pressing a kiss between his brows before they start to furrow again, "So I don't think you should start doing that now. Especially not when it's Seno, who begged me to give him my friend's number."

"You're so right," Kentarō pulls you in.

Your proud grin vanishes just seconds later when he lifts you into the air.

"Don't you dare-" He drops like a stone, and you fall with him, pressed to his chest.

When you come back up, sputtering water and hair sticking to the side of your head, Kentarō's grinning from one ear to the other.

He looks so cute, you can't even be mad.

But he better watch out, because you're going to dunk him next chance you get.

lifeguard!kyoutani and babysitter!(y/n) falling in love over the summer

(y/n) who is so damn stressed out watching three kids under ten

kyoutani sees her walking into the public pool carrying one kid and holding another's hand

(the third is already running towards the pool, still fully clothed)

she just looks so frantic, and without a second thought kyoutani steps in to help

he snatches up the kid running towards the pool and helps (y/n) set up a space for them in the shade

"i forgot the sunscreen..." she says, sounding just so defeated.

and kyoutani doesn't really know why, but he wants to help

except he knows exactly why he helps, and it has nothing to do with the fact that he wants to do his job well

he brings out extra sunscreen from the back room and tells her that he'll watch out for the kids if she needs and break

he sees (y/n) and the kids more and more after that

they would come in at least once a week, sometimes even more than that and sometimes,

"hey, uhh. one of the kids forgot their towels here and if i don't get it back i'll literally never hear the end of it... have you seen it around?"

(y/n) would always smile at him, and after a few weeks, she even began to wave hello and goodbye

she would hold the littlest kid's hand and point to him as he sat on his chair

"wave to the nice lifeguard! say thank you for keeping us safe!"

and then she would smile at him, bright and brilliant

kyoutani's heart would literally stop. she was, like, really fucking pretty

but even though he really wanted to ask for her name or number or something, he just couldn't

he was kinda shy, okay?

but thankfully, she was more bold than he was

"say bye! wave bye-bye!"

kyoutani kneeled down and grinned, waving goodbye to the kids. he then gazed up at the babysitter, who was looking down at him with a smile of her own. he wanted to say something, but all he could do was stare at her with an open mouth and wide eyes. he probably would have stared at her forever if she hadn't asked that question.

"can i give you my number?"

soon summer ended, and the kids went back to school. the sun was coated by clouds, and the weather began to get dark and gloomy

but kyoutani, however, felt the exact opposite. he was light and happy for the first time in a while

he had (y/n)'s smile to brighten up his days. he thought if he never saw the sun again he would still feel that way, as long as she was right there next to him

Kyotani has an oral fixation!!!!! whenever he's sitting down with you in his lap he always is attached to any part of your body. he just cant stand the feeling of you just being there with his mouth not on you. like excuse you???

you seriously cant get rid of him. it would genuinely be a fucking crime if you just decided that you weren’t gonna sit on his lap and let him suck onto your skin. he would either sit there and obnoxiously pout, or magically your hips werent connected to your body anymore due to the force and pace that he grabbed them and pulled them to his lap. in literal seconds, you were on his lap. and even if you tried to get off of him, or pull him off of you, there would be no possible way to move. kyotani always has an actual death grip on your waist if he’s focused on your body.

moral of the story : i also have an oral fixation

you understood his distaste for others. it all boils down to his upbringing. and while you wish he considered other peoples feelings, you couldn’t deny the utterly satisfying comfort you got knowing he trusted you.

you haven’t confessed your feelings yet, it’s not like he made it easy to. he still had issues. he needed to learn to love, platonically and romantically.

you both sat on a rickety wood bridge that crossed a river not far from his house, your typical meetup spot.

you always talked about the day you had. he did the same, although with a little more venom to his words.

“i just don’t understand his teaching style. he’s nice and all, but how could he go through the lesson so fast and expect us to learn right away?” you ranted.

“you know, i’m sure he has lovely things to say about you.”

a moment of silenced passed.

“why are you only nice to me?”

“excuse me?”

“a few minutes ago you were talking shit about everyone…and now you’re nice to me.”

you know he’ll never tell the truth, but you can see the soft grin he has when he sees you in the halls. the way his walk gets more perky and his eyes become more lively.

ATSUMU rocked the crib quietly, you were leaning on the doorway, eyes hardly cracking open with fatigue. he’d insisted that he’d go check on her when she began crying for the fifth night in a row, aware of just how exhausted you were. he held a soft smile on his face despite the tired eyes that watched, about to reach forward to hold the baby to his chest. he glanced at his hands skeptically, brows furrowing. “darlin’ i don’t know if i should hold her, i mean, my hands are so rough. i don’t wanna hurt her.” he sighed, slumping sadly. “you’re talking about your hands?” you waddled forward, smaller hands holding onto his to bring them against your cheek. “you won’t hurt her, and your hands are soft and warm. she’ll love them just as much as i do.” giggling softly at his reddened cheeks in fluster. “alrighty then.” he scooped her up ever so carefully, lifting her to his face while her tiny hands held his face just as yours had done many times before. “hey beautiful, your daddy loves you more than anything y’know.”

KAGEYAMA brought his little girl to the gymnasium with him early so they could play around and get used to the “feel” as tobio exclaimed with easily noticeable excitement.. that idea in mind, he’d spent what felt to be hours teaching the mini to set a ball( it was makeshift in the end ). “yes !” he jumped into the air happily, she’d finally managed to lift the ball a small portion into the air with her tiny fingers. he was beaming with pride. “c’mere ! you did so good !” he bounced around, stalling to drop to a crouch when ushering his daughter to him. yet once she arrived closer, he hesitated. he had calloused bruising at his hands for almost every finger. and the look she gave him when he didn’t airplane her( what she called it when he spun her around in the air ) broke his heart to pieces. “why no airplane daddy ?” he tilted her head comically, to which he leaned back on his heels in dismay. “mm .. daddy’s hands aren’t comfy babydoll, you wouldn’t want them on your pretty face.” she stomped her foot with a loud huff. “but i love daddy ! and airplane ! der ( there ) is nofing ( nothing ) wrong wif ( with ) your hands !” she forcefully grabbed his wrist, smiling with her missing tooth on display. so stinkin’ cute, how could he resist.

USHIJIMA had always been taken as a harsh person. maybe it was his demeanor that appeared cold and calculating that left people with that impression. or his constant drive to work harder, push harder. but to your little boy, he was nothing but a gentle giant. a teddy bear to put it perfectly. the littlest things he’d do, or the way he’d look at him. oh the way he’d look at him. the sweetest thing ever i swear. he’d offer kind reminders to wash his hands and greet others respectfully. now his son munched away at the dishes scattered on the table. although the thought of wakatoshi’s strength just registered to him as he sat. how easily he could hurt him. it scared the ace thoroughly. that pit of worry bursting into a vivacious cherry. so when he noticed the grain of rice clinging to his boy’s cheek. he withheld his urge to wipe it away. “so unlike you toshi.” you hummed, using a napkin to rid of the messy eater’s evidence. “i didn’t want to be to aggressive with him, i’m easily capable of hurting him.” he fiddled nervously. “exactly, but you’re not ever like that for either of us. believe in yourself, you’re our volleyball player after all.” you were silenced with a honeyed kiss. “now that was aggressive.” — “thank you for this .. for everything.” he placed his forehead against yours. “i mean it.”

KYOUTANI moped on the chair outside of the pediatricians office, absolutely ruined from his baby girls cries after receiving her yearly injections. it was killing him. his moping was alerted when he heard your voice say “all done !” and knew just how screwed he was. if it was this hard already to keep himself from loosing it from guilt he was certain he couldn’t take it when he saw his angels face, all tear-stained and sad. the idea was spot on. you placed her to your breast, bouncing her while filling out the paper work. meanwhile, his dainty darling was still crying her lungs out. not over the ordeal apparently. “ken, can you hold her while i write this down ?” he hit his lip, thinking over the phrase. “she’ll probably get even more alarmed if she sees me, and i’m too harsh with her, i don’t want to scare her anymore than she’s already is.” he growled, voice low. “daddy!” interrupted your reply before she was clenching her fist repeatedly in his direction to be held. “ken, she wants you, it’s okay.” you assured, your muscular husband complying as he held her to his chest, shushing her cries. “shhh it’s okay i’ve got you.” he caressed her dampened cheeks, the nurses echoing an ‘aww’ from behind the counter. kyoutani couldn’t have been more embarrassed.
