After an exhausting national team training camp runs hours longer than expected, Kageyama returns home carrying more than physical fatigue. Convinced he's ruined the dinner date the two of you had been planning for weeks, he prepares himself for disappointment—only to find you waiting with his favorite homemade meal and the same unwavering smile that's always been his safe place. What follows is a quiet evening of heartfelt apologies, grateful kisses, shared dinner, and sleepy cuddles that remind Kageyama that home has never been a place... it's always been you.
Warnings: Pure domestic fluff, established relationship, hurt/comfort, soft and affectionate Kageyama, rain ambience, emotional reassurance, kisses, hugs, cooking together, cuddling, praise, sleepy intimacy (non-explicit), comfort food, happy ending.
—————————— ♡ —————————
The rain continued its steady drum against the window, but inside the kitchen, the atmosphere shifted.
Kageyama stood by the stove, the spatula held loosely in his hand as he stared down at the sizzling rice. Despite his focus on the food, his broad shoulders were visibly tense, slumped with a heavy, exhausting weight that went far beyond physical fatigue.
He hadn't just been pushed to his limits at camp; he was carrying a quiet, frustrating guilt that had been eating at him all the way on the train ride home.
"Tobio?" you asked softly, leaning forward on the barstool. "What's wrong?"
He didn't answer right away. He turned off the burner, slid the pan onto a cool grate, and stood there for a second, staring at the floor. When he finally turned to face you, his dark blue eyes were clouded with an intense, troubled look.
"The training camp," he said, his voice lower and rougher than usual. "They extended the final scrimmage block by four hours. We didn't get dismissed until late evening." He stepped closer to the island, his hands clenching into loose fists at his sides. "I missed the dinner. I missed the whole date. We planned it for three weeks."
He looked incredibly frustrated—not at the coaches, but at himself, as if his dedication to volleyball had somehow let you down. He was braced for you to be disappointed, or at least a little lonely.
Instead, you just smiled, reaching across the counter to grab his hand.
"Tobio, I'm not upset at all," you said gently, squeezing his calloused fingers. "I was watching the live updates from the scrimmage. You played incredibly well. I'm so proud of you."
Kageyama blinked, momentarily stunned. The intense, worried line between his brows began to soften. "You... you aren't mad?"
"Of course not," you laughed softly, sliding off your stool. "In fact, I figured you'd be starving when you got back. So..."
You walked over to the counter and pulled a small towel off a large, covered ceramic dish, revealing a beautiful, freshly prepared spread of hamburg steak—his absolute favorite—complete with a rich glaze and perfectly cut vegetables. "I made this for you so we could still have our dinner together, even if it's late."
Kageyama stood entirely still.
He didn't move, his tall frame casting a long shadow across the kitchen floor. He stared down at the beautifully glazed meal you had painstakingly prepared for him, and then his eyes slowly drifted up to meet yours.
He didn't speak. He just looked at you—intently, quietly, with an intensity that made the rest of the room fade away. His throat bobbed as he swallowed hard, his mouth opening slightly as if to say something, but no words came out. He was completely stuck, overwhelmed by the sheer warmth of finding you here, waiting for him, entirely unbothered by his mistake.
Slowly, almost hesitantly, he reached across the kitchen island. His large, calloused hand slid over the counter, his knuckles brushing against yours before his fingers spread and closed tightly around your hand. He squeezed—firm and grounding, a silent apology and an immense thank you wrapped into a single physical pressure.
"Tobio?" you murmured.
He finally moved, stepping around the island until he was standing directly in front of you. He didn't immediately lean in. Instead, he slowly bent his knees, lowering himself until he could gently rest his forehead right against yours.
His eyes closed. He just stayed there like that for a long, quiet moment, his cool skin warming against yours, his deep, shaky breath fanning across your cheeks.
"I'm sorry," he whispered, his voice incredibly raw. "And... thank you."
Before you could reply, his arms wrapped around you. He pulled you in with a desperate, unyielding strength, burying his face in the crook of your neck. It was a long, heavy hug—the kind where he let his entire weight relax against you, holding you so tight that you could feel the rapid, steady thud of his heart against your chest. He held you as if he were memorizing the exact feeling of having you in his arms after three long days apart.
Only after a long, silent minute did he slowly pull back. His hands slid up to gently cup your cheeks, his thumbs tracing your cheekbones, his gaze locked onto your lips.
And then, finally, he leaned down and kissed you.
It wasn't his usual quick, shy peck. This kiss was warm, heavy with gratitude, and sweet enough to make your knees go slightly weak. His lips were soft against yours, parting slightly as he poured every ounce of his relief and love into the kiss. His hands pressed firmly into your lower back, holding you close as if he couldn't believe how lucky he was.
When he finally pulled back just a fraction, his forehead rested against yours again, his breathing shallow. He leaned down and kissed you again, a quick, lingering press of his lips, then another on your cheek, and one more on the crown of your head.
"Let me help," he murmured, refusing to let go of your waist entirely.
What followed was a chaotic, sweet blur of kitchen fluff. Kageyama, still clinging to your side, insisted on holding the plates while you scooped the rice. Every time you reached for a serving spoon, he would lean down to press a soft kiss to your shoulder, his damp hair brushing against your neck.
"Tobio, I can't scoop the gravy if you keep kissing my cheek," you laughed, though you didn't make any move to stop him.
"Just one more," he mumbled, his voice sleepy but stubborn as he pressed his lips to the corner of your mouth, lingering there until you let out a quiet sigh of defeat.
Eventually, you managed to get the food to the table. You ate together in the quiet, warm glow of the kitchen, Kageyama practically beaming with every bite of the meal you had prepared. The guilt that had weighed his shoulders down was completely gone, replaced by a relaxed, content comfort.
Once the plates were cleared—which Kageyama insisted on washing himself, though he let you dry them just so you could stay close—he carried you, quite literally, down the hallway to the bedroom.
The moment you both hit the mattress, Kageyama pulled you into his arms, burying his face in your hair. He wrapped his long legs around yours, completely anchoring you to his side.
In the dim light of the bedroom, he looked down at you, his eyes heavy with a deep, peaceful sleepiness. He reached up, his large hand gently cupping your face, his thumb sweeping over your bottom lip.
"I love you," he whispered, his voice a soft, raspy murmur. "So much."
"I love you too, Tobio," you replied.
He leaned down, kissing you one last time—a slow, tender, sleepy kiss that tasted like home and quiet rainy nights. He tucked the heavy blankets securely around your shoulders, pulled you close against his warm chest, and let his eyes finally drift closed, his heart beating a steady, comforting rhythm against your cheek as you both drifted off to sleep.
Long-distance was never easy, but Nishinoya Yuu refused to let thousands of miles become an excuse to love you any less. No matter what country he found himself in, every night ended the same way—with a video call. Between stories of breathtaking sunsets, near-death encounters with overly confident seagulls, and promises of all the places he'd take you one day, the distance somehow felt a little smaller. And on the nights when missing each other became too much to bear, neither of you hung up first, choosing instead to fall asleep together through a phone screen.
Warnings: Pure fluff and comfort. Established relationship, long-distance romance, late-night video calls, sleepy conversations, travel stories, gentle teasing, soft confessions, cuddling through a screen, wholesome dialogue, and two people proving that love doesn't need the same time zone to feel like home. Happy ending.
—————————— ♡ ——————————
The digital chime of your phone cutting through the silence of your dark bedroom was a sound you had quickly learned to associate with a sudden, inevitable rush of warmth.
It was exactly 2:14 AM.
You rolled over in bed, burying half your face in your pillow as you fumbled for the glowing device on your nightstand. The screen lit up your face, displaying a contact name flanked by a string of chaotic emojis—sparkles, wild animals, and a volleyball.
You swiped to accept, and the screen instantly filled with a flurry of motion, a crackle of wind, and a blinding grin.
"Hey! You're awake! I didn't wake you up, did I? Tell me I didn't wake you up, but also I'm so glad you answered!"
Nishinoya Yuu’s face was pressed incredibly close to the camera, his dark eyes sparkling with a familiar, boundless energy. His hair, usually styled into his signature, gravity-defying spike, was completely down. It fell softly around his forehead and ears, damp and messy from either a recent swim or the humid night air of wherever he had landed yesterday. He was wearing a faded, oversized tank top, his shoulders deeply sun-kissed, a stark contrast to the pale, cozy blankets you were buried under.
"Yuu," you mumbled, your voice thick with sleep, a small, involuntary smile tugging at the corner of your lips. "It's past two in the morning."
"Ah! I knew it!" He looked momentarily apologetic, his shoulders dropping, but the excitement quickly surged back, puffing his chest out. "But look! You have to see this. I couldn't wait until your morning. I literally ran back to the hostel just to get a good Wi-Fi signal so I could call you."
He spun the camera around. The shaky footage smoothed out to reveal a breathtaking view. He was standing on a wooden balcony overlooking a dark, glistening expanse of water—the Mediterranean, if your memory of his chaotic itinerary served you right. Far in the distance, the cliffside of a coastal Italian town was dotted with warm, amber lights that looked like fallen stars scattered along the rocks. The sound of gentle waves crashing against the shore bled through your phone speaker, a rhythmic, soothing backdrop to his breathless narration.
"Isn't it crazy?" Yuu’s voice came back, loud and clear, though he was trying—and failing—to keep it down for the sake of his sleeping hostel roommates. "The water here is so blue during the day, it doesn't even look real. It looks like someone poured paint into the ocean. And tonight, the moon is so bright it’s casting a silver path all the way to the horizon. I swear, I wanted to jump off the balcony and try to run across it!"
"Please don't jump off any balconies," you laughed softly, resting your chin on your arms, staring at the screen. "I'd like you back in one piece."
"Don't worry, my balance is legendary! You know that!" He flipped the camera back to himself, leaning his chin against his palm as he propped the phone up on the balcony railing. His grin softened into something incredibly tender as he looked at you. "Man... I really miss you. Seeing your face right now is the best part of my day, hands down."
The sudden shift from high-energy explorer to sweet, earnest boyfriend caught you off guard, making your heart do a familiar flutter. "I miss you too, Yuu. How has the food been?"
"Oh, my god, the food!" He sat up straight, his eyes wide. "Okay, so today, I found this tiny little bakery down an alley that smelled like heaven. I didn't even know what I was ordering, I just pointed at this pastry and yelled 'Questo, per favore!' with the best accent I could muster. The old lady behind the counter laughed so hard she gave me two of them! It was filled with this sweet cream, and the crust was so flaky it got all over my shirt. I thought about you the whole time because I know you would’ve stolen half of it."
"I absolutely would have," you agreed, shifting under your blankets. "And you would have let me."
"Duh! I’d give you the whole thing," he said instantly, without a shred of hesitation. He leaned closer to the screen, his gaze tracing your features. "Hey, you look sleepy. Are you cold?"
"A little," you admitted, pulling the duvet up to your nose. "It's freezing here tonight. I wish I had your weather."
"I wish I could share it with you," Yuu murmured, his voice dropping into a register that was rare for him—soft, quiet, and intensely intimate. He looked down at his own hands, then back up at the screen. "When I was walking along the beach earlier, the sand was still warm from the sun. I was thinking... next time, we’re coming here together. No excuses. I'm going to show you every single spot I found. I'll carry your bags, I'll buy you all the pastries, and we can just sit on the sand until the sun goes down."
"Promise?"
"I never break my promises!" He thumped his fist against his chest, right over his heart, a fierce determination shining in his eyes. "Just picture it. You and me, eating gelato, walking around these crazy old streets. I'll even protect you from the seagull I had a fight with yesterday."
You let out a quiet giggle. "A fight with a seagull?"
"It tried to steal my sandwich!" Yuu defended himself, puffing his cheeks out indignantly. "It was a tactical retreat on my part, okay? Those things are ruthless. But for you, I would've fought to the death. No bird is taking your lunch on my watch."
You stared at the glowing screen, feeling incredibly close to him despite the thousands of miles of land and ocean separating you. It was in moments like this—when he was rambling about seagulls, his hair damp and messy, his eyes full of absolute devotion—that the distance felt manageable. He brought his entire, vibrant world right to your bedside.
"You're ridiculous, Yuu," you whispered affectionately.
"I'm serious!" he insisted, though a bright, boyish grin broke across his face. He shifted on his end, moving back inside his room. The background changed to a cozy, rustic room with stone walls and a small bed. He collapsed backward onto his mattress, holding the phone above his face. "Ah, my legs are killing me. I walked like fifteen miles today. But it was totally worth it."
"You need to rest, too," you said, watching him stretch out. "Don't overexert yourself just because you have endless energy."
"Hey, even the great Nishinoya Yuu needs to recharge," he chuckled, rolling onto his side. He propped his head up on his arm, holding the phone steady. The angle showed his sharp jawline and the relaxed, sleepy curve of his shoulders. "But talking to you is how I recharge. Seriously. It’s like... when I'm traveling, everything is so fast and new. It's awesome, and I love it. But when I call you, it feels like I can finally take a deep breath. You're my home, you know?"
Your chest tightened with a sweet, aching warmth. "Yuu..."
"I mean it," he said, his eyes unwavering. He reached a finger out, gently tapping his screen right where your cheek was on his display. "Right there. I'm touching your face. Can you feel it?"
"Yeah," you whispered, matching his action and tapping your screen where his cheek was. "I can feel it."
A soft, pink dust settled over his cheeks, and he let out a shy, breathy laugh, burying his face in his arm for a brief second before looking back at you. "Man, you're too cute. It’s not fair. I want to hug you so bad right now. I want to squeeze you until you complain that I’m holding on too tight."
"I wouldn't complain," you said softly. "Not tonight."
"Then I'd hold you even tighter," he promised, his voice incredibly gentle.
For a long while, neither of you spoke. The silence wasn't heavy or awkward; it was comfortable, filled only with the soft rustle of your blankets and the distant, faint hum of the Italian night through his open window. You watched his eyes flutter slightly, the exhaustion of his long day finally catching up to him, though he stubbornly kept his eyelids pried open to keep looking at you.
"Yuu, you can close your eyes," you murmured, your own eyelids growing heavy. "I'm not going anywhere."
"No way," he mumbled, though his blink lasted a second too long. "Want to keep looking at you. What if you disappear when I close them?"
"I won't disappear. I'll be right here on the screen."
"Promise?" he echoed your earlier question, a sleepy, vulnerable edge to his tone.
"I promise. I'll stay on the line until you fall asleep."
"Okay..." He let out a long, contented sigh, shifting his pillow so he could rest his cheek comfortably while still keeping the camera pointed at his face. His dark eyes softened as they locked onto yours one last time. "Hey. I love you."
"I love you too, Yuu. Sleep well."
"Love you more," he mumbled, his voice dragging slightly as his eyes finally drifted shut. "Next time... gelato... and no seagulls..."
You couldn't help but let out one last, quiet laugh at his sleepy rambling. You watched him on your screen as his breathing slowed into a deep, steady rhythm, his features completely relaxed and peaceful.
Even with an entire ocean between you, wrapped in the quiet chill of the late-night hours, you had never felt warmer. You nestled deeper into your blankets, resting your phone on the pillow next to your head so his sleeping face was the last thing you saw, and let yourself drift off to sleep to the faint, distant sound of the Mediterranean waves.
Summary:A harmless gift from Suna—a limited-edition Luffy plushie won after far too many failed claw machine attempts—quickly becomes your favorite possession. What starts as an inside joke slowly turns into Suna's greatest (and most embarrassing) rival as the plushie earns a permanent place in your bed, your texts, and your daily life. When even the famously unbothered Suna Rintarou finds himself competing with a stuffed pirate for your attention, he realizes that maybe... just maybe... he is capable of getting jealous after all.
Warnings: Pure fluff and comedy. Established relationship, playful teasing, jealous Suna, light possessiveness, cuddling, kisses, One Piece references, and one very innocent rivalry between a professional volleyball player and a plushie. Happy ending.
—————————— ♡ ——————————
Suna Rintarou was not a jealous person. At least, that's what he'd have told you if you'd asked him a month ago. He didn't get worked up over much of anything — not over Atsumu's teasing, not over losing at Mario Kart, not even over Osamu eating the last onigiri he'd been saving for after practice. He drifted through most of life with the same half-lidded, unbothered expression, like nothing was worth the energy of caring loudly.
So when he found himself standing in your kitchen at eleven at night, arms crossed, staring down a stuffed Luffy plushie like it had personally wronged him, he had to admit — something had gone very wrong.
It had started innocently enough. Three weeks ago, Suna had seen the plushie in a claw machine at the arcade near your apartment. It wasn't even that good a machine — the kind that ate your money and gave you nothing back, rigged within an inch of its life. But he'd dropped in coin after coin, ignoring Osamu's increasingly loud sighs beside him, until finally, on his ninth try, the claw actually gripped instead of slipping, and out came a slightly lopsided, extremely soft Luffy doll with stitched-on sunglasses that didn't come with the original design — some limited edition variant you'd mentioned wanting, off-hand, weeks before, in a conversation Suna hadn't even seemed to be paying attention to.
That was the thing about Suna. He always seemed like he wasn't paying attention. And then he'd go and prove that he'd caught every single word.
"Here," he'd said, tossing it into your lap without ceremony, like it was nothing, like he hadn't spent forty minutes and way too many coins on it. "You wouldn't shut up about it."
You'd nearly tackled him. You definitely squealed loud enough that he'd winced and told you to quiet down, the neighbors were going to think he was hurting you. But even as he complained, there'd been that small, satisfied curl at the corner of his mouth — the one he only got when something had gone exactly the way he wanted.
You'd known his name immediately, obviously — Luffy, straw hat and all, if a little lopsided from the stitching. From that day forward, Luffy had a permanent spot on your bed, propped against your pillows like some kind of straw-hatted sentinel.
Suna hadn't thought anything of it. Not at first.
The problem, if you could call it that, started small. You'd taken a picture of the plushie sitting on your windowsill in the afternoon light and sent it to him with the caption he's living his best life. Suna had smiled at his phone like an idiot on the train home, which Osamu had mercilessly clocked and would not let him live down for the rest of the week.
Then you started giving the thing a personality. "Luffy says good morning," you'd text. Or, during a particularly boring class, "Luffy is judging me for not studying." Suna found it funny. Endearing, even. He liked that something he'd given you had become a whole bit between you two.
But then it kept going. And going.
You started sleeping with it. Which — fine. Normal. People slept with stuffed animals. Suna had definitely still had a beat-up old cat plushie somewhere in his closet that he was never, ever going to admit to owning. But then you mentioned, completely offhand, over a phone call one night, that you'd started talking to it before bed. "Just to like — process the day," you said, laughing a little. "Don't judge me."
"I'm not judging you," Suna said, even though something in his chest had pulled tight in a way he didn't have a name for yet.
"Good. Because Luffy is a great listener. Better than some people." A pause. "No offense."
"...None taken," Suna said, in a voice that suggested offense had, in fact, been taken.
He told himself it was ridiculous. He was a nineteen-year-old man getting weird about a stuffed pirate. There was no version of this where he came out looking normal, and he knew that, and yet the feeling didn't go away — it just sort of sat there, low and stupid, every time you brought the plushie up like it was a third party in the relationship.
Things came to a head on a night he'd come over to study — or that was the plan, anyway, before you'd both given up on productivity within twenty minutes and ended up sprawled on your bed, half-watching something neither of you were really following. Luffy, as always, held his post against the pillows.
At some point you shifted, curling slightly into Suna's side, and grabbed the plushie to hug against your chest, sighing contentedly. "Best cuddle buddy," you murmured, patting its head.
Suna, who had been in the middle of getting comfortable himself, stopped.
"I'm right here," he said.
"I know." You didn't even look up. "You can both be my cuddle buddies. It's not a competition."
"It's a stuffed animal."
"He has a name."
"He's made of polyester."
"Rude," you said, hugging the plushie tighter, like you were protecting it from him. "Don't talk about Luffy like that in front of him."
Suna stared at you. Stared at the plushie. Felt, with a rising and deeply humiliating clarity, that he was — somehow, impossibly — losing an argument to a stuffed pirate.
"You know I bought that thing," he said.
"I know."
"I spent actual money on it. Multiple times. The claw kept dropping it."
"I know, and it was very romantic," you said, entirely too sincerely for someone who was still hugging the plushie instead of him. "That's why he's earned his spot."
"His spot," Suna repeated flatly.
"Yeah. Right here." You patted the space between you and the plushie, which, Suna noted with some indignation, was closer to you than he currently was.
He didn't say anything else. He just reached over, plucked the plushie out of your arms with the same unbothered efficiency he did everything, and set it down on the nightstand, facing the wall.
"Hey—"
"He can watch the movie from over there," Suna said, resettling himself against you, arm looping around your waist like he was reclaiming territory. "Or not. I don't really care what he does."
You were laughing now, delighted, propping yourself up on one elbow to look at him properly. "Suna. Are you seriously jealous of a plushie."
"No."
"You just turned him around so he couldn't look at us."
"He doesn't have eyes that work. It doesn't matter which way he's facing."
"Oh my god." You were grinning so wide it had to hurt. "You are. You're jealous of Luffy."
"I'm not saying anything else about this," Suna said, which was, in itself, a confession, and you both knew it.
He tried to play it off over the next few days. That was the Suna way — deflect, downplay, pretend the moment had never happened and hope it got buried under enough time and unrelated conversations that nobody brought it up again. It worked on most people. It did not work on you, because you had apparently decided that Suna Rintarou being quietly, absurdly jealous of a stuffed animal was the funniest thing that had happened to you all year, and you were not going to let it go.
You brought Luffy everywhere, suddenly. Not really — you weren't actually carrying a plushie around campus like a lunatic — but every text became an opportunity. A picture of the plushie "helping" you study, propped up next to your notes. A picture of it wearing one of your hair scrunchies like a headband. A message that read, simply, Luffy says hi with no further context, sent right in the middle of Suna's practice, so that he had to read it standing on the court with Osamu leaning over his shoulder asking who Luffy was and why Suna's ears had gone red.
"It's nothing," Suna muttered, shoving his phone back in his bag.
"Doesn't look like nothing," Osamu said, entirely too pleased with himself. "You're the color of a tomato, Rin."
"I will end you."
"Who's Luffy?"
"I said I will end you."
Osamu, naturally, told Atsumu. Atsumu, naturally, would not shut up about it for the rest of the week, cackling every time he caught Suna glancing at his phone, asking loudly across the club room whether "the plushie boyfriend" was doing okay, whether Suna needed to fight a stuffed animal for his honor. Suna endured it with the long-suffering patience of a man who had brought this entirely upon himself and knew it.
It was you, in the end, who put a stop to it — mostly because even you had limits on how long you could tease him before it stopped being funny and started being mean, and you liked him too much to actually make him miserable over it.
You showed up at his apartment on a Friday evening with the plushie tucked under one arm, and when he opened the door and saw it, his expression did something complicated and resigned, like he was bracing for another week of this.
"Relax," you said, stepping past him inside. "I come bearing peace offerings."
"You brought the enemy into my own home."
"He's not the enemy. He's actually here to help you." You set the plushie down on Suna's couch, propped upright, facing the two of you. "Luffy, as official witness — Suna Rintarou, you are, and have always been, my favorite. Not a stuffed animal. Not anyone. You. I just thought it was really funny watching you get worked up about it, so I kept going. That's it. That's the whole thing."
Suna looked at you. Looked at the plushie. Something in his shoulders that had been quietly tense for the better part of two weeks finally eased.
"You did that on purpose," he said. "This whole time."
"Obviously. You should've seen your face at practice. Osamu sent me a video."
"He what—"
"Focus," you said, laughing, stepping closer and looping your arms around his neck before he could spiral into another rant about Osamu's betrayal. "I like you an unreasonable amount, Suna. Way more than a stuffed pirate that I asked you to win me as a joke, and that you then spent forty minutes and probably ten dollars in quarters trying to get."
"Twelve dollars," Suna corrected, arms settling automatically around your waist, some of the sharpness draining out of his voice now that he had you instead of an empty apartment and a green-eyed grudge against felt and stuffing. "I counted."
"Twelve dollars," you agreed. "Which is genuinely the most romantic thing anyone has ever done for me, so. I'm sorry I turned it into a bit for two weeks."
"You're not sorry."
"I'm a little sorry."
"You're not even a little sorry."
"Okay, I'm not sorry at all," you admitted, grinning up at him. "But I really do like you more than the plushie. For the record."
Suna huffed something that was almost a laugh, tipping his forehead down against yours. "You'd better. I have a reputation to protect. Osamu already thinks I proposed to a stuffed animal."
"You kind of did, a little."
"I'm breaking up with both of you."
"You can't break up with a plushie, Rintarou, he's not your girlfriend."
"He's got more screen time in your texts than I do, so I'm not sure that's true anymore."
You laughed again, pressing up to kiss the corner of his mouth, and whatever was left of his sulking dissolved entirely. Behind you, forgotten now on the couch, Luffy sat propped against the cushions, permanently smiling, permanently oblivious to the chaos he'd caused — a twelve-dollar rubber-armed reminder that even someone as unbothered as Suna Rintarou could, apparently, be brought entirely undone by something as small as watching you love a gift more than you loved bragging about the person who gave it to you.
He decided, privately, that he didn't mind so much. As long as he still came first.
Which, obviously, he did. Even if it had taken him an embarrassingly long two weeks and one entire volleyball team's worth of teasing to actually believe it.
💌 Ree’s note: Hi hope you’re having a lovely day/night! I couldn’t decide between Noya and Oikawa (MBTI-compatible), but ultimately decided on Noya because I feel like you guys would have a lot of fun hanging out together ^^
— first impressions
Noya didn’t mind that you were quiet around him at first. He likes talking to you and was happy when you started becoming more comfortable with him.
Chill talks where he asks about what you’re currently watching or reading
He finds your hobbies really cool since they’re different from what he usually does to pass the time.
Whenever you find his jokes and ridiculous shenanigans funny, he’d have the biggest grin on his face. He just loves making you laugh.
Everything feels chill and fun with him, he lets you be yourself.
— spending time together
Nishinoya would LOVE to play volleyball with you.
I can imagine you two spending some afternoons tossing a volleyball around with the neighborhood kids.
When he found out you started boxing, he got so excited.
As someone who finds the sport cool and gets fired up easily, he’d want to join you during your boxing sessions.
Hanging out and sparring with you? That’s all the motivation he needs to get better.
(And of course, wanting to look even cooler in your eyes hehe)
— little gifts and tokens
Noya also thinks it’s so cool that you’ve been drawing since you were young.
This excitable dude would be asking you to draw and would playfully offer to model for you.
If you do decide to gift him art you made, especially if it's a drawing of him or you guys together, he’d feel so warm and touched.
Expect that he’d cherish anything you make for him forever.
Noya would keep them in his room and have this little smile on his face while looking at them as he gets ready in the mornings.
He also gets so excited whenever he finds merch of anime/manga you like.
Out with the Karasuno gang and he sees a new merch shop that just popped up? You bet he’s rushing inside like to check if they have any merch of your favorite characters.
— being there for you
Nishinoya has this contagious energy and is the happiest when he’s with you.
He also reminds you to live your life how you want to live it, making sure you’re enjoying being here in the present, being with him.
Although he can be excitable and impulsive, there are times when he’s focused and serious.
He pushes himself to be someone you can rely on, the way you let others rely on you.
Noya is tenacious and hopes you know you don’t always have to be the strong one.
“You know, behind every fear is a wasted experience. Worries, things we can't change... we'll stop letting them hold us back and just live life to the fullest. Together?”

Haiba Alisa is your best friend. You two met early on in your career. By then, she had already been a known model, and she took you under her wing often, helping you rise to where you are today. When you made your breakthrough and became more well-known, you were signed to the same company as Alisa alongside other talent. One of those other talents was her brother, Haiba Lev. You met him a few times in passing while hanging out with Alisa; eccentric, passionate, and overall, a golden retriever. And, with no surprise, handsome. They were known as the sibling modeling pair in the industry, often getting hired together, similar to how you and Alisa would get hired as a pair very often. Alisa would often joke about you two being a good match, but you brushed her off as joking. In reality, she was trying to hint at something more.
You see, Alisa never kept secrets from you, all but one. Lev has a huge, major crush on you. She didn’t find out until she accidentally came across a magazine in his room featuring one of your solo photoshoots. It seemed small at first. Maybe he was just being supportive of his sister’s best friend. But then she noticed some smaller things he would do, like fixing his hair and dressing a bit nicer when she mentioned you were coming over, having eccentric conversations with you when he could, and also asking Alisa about you and your interests. That’s when she put two and two together. Her sweet little brother had a crush on her best friend, and she couldn't be more thrilled to make that relationship come true, especially since she had another secret she knew.
She knew you also have a bit of a crush on Lev.
You were soon hired to work a duo shoot with Alisa at the last minute for this new perfume line called “Lover”. Things up until the day of were running smoothly, you being excited for another photoshoot with Alisa, and she also being excited just the same. However, at the last minute, Alisa got called into a meeting about a different project that had priority. She felt really bad leaving you there, and when she called, she mentioned sending someone else over to fill her spot. Turns out, she sent Lev in to fill her spot. Getting to the studio, Lev saw you sitting in your chair, getting all dolled up. He immediately got nervous and bashful. He cursed under his breath a bit. Alisa never told him it was a duo shoot with you specifically, only that she had to run out on a last-minute job and needed help. Of course, being the best brother in the world, he agreed. You turn to look at him, all dolled up and smiling at a familiar face.
“Hey Lev. Alisa sent you in her place?” His mouth got dry as he tried to smile through his nerves.
“Yeah! Glad I can be working with you on this.” He sat in his chair and let the team get to work. While he was getting ready, you were already getting changed and doing solo shots in your outfit, a slim-fitting short black dress that highlighted everything in the right places. Lev swallowed hard as he sat there gawking a bit at you until the artist physically turned his head back.
After about an hour of solo shots of you and Lev, the time for the duo pictures had come. Originally, the plan was for you and Alisa to pose together in a temptress way, but now with Lev, the production team had a different approach. They want it to be romantic and tension-filled now. Let’s say, it really shook up Lev.
“Come now. Lev, stand closer to her, be friendly. You’re supposed to be like lovers. Be romantic!” Lev was sweating bullets by now, hand hovering over your waist as if he were a beginner. You tilt your head up and look at him before the photographer pauses and calls a break. Lev ran to the dressing room to catch his breath.
“I’ll check on him. We’ll be back out in 10.” You follow him out to his room, hearing nervous pacing back and forth and his anxious mumbling. You nervously hold your hand to the door until you hear him say your name.
“Damn it, Y/N looks so gorgeous. I can’t think straight!” Those words hit you almost like a truck. Gorgeous? He’s freaking out because of you? You can feel a slight warmth fill your cheeks as you slowly knock on the door before coming in.
“Lev?” You called out.
“Oh! Y/N! What are you doing here?” You can see him nervously messing with his hair, either trying to fix it or calm himself down. You couldn’t tell. You pulled yourself together, trying to hold back the blush creeping on your face.
“You looked tense this entire time. Are you usually like this with partner shots? Or is there something else?” Lev looked away, super anxious, not knowing how to respond. On one hand, he wanted to admit his infatuation; on the other needed to hide it from you to save face. He stammered a bit, trying to think of an excuse.
“I just… It’s a bit embarrassing to do such poses with an audience. I also just don’t wanna make you uncomfortable with you being Alisa’s best friend and all.” You stared at him a bit, genuinely trying to figure out if this was an excuse or a diversion from what he “possibly” said earlier. Your heart was still beating loudly as you stared at him. He was being so cute about all this, being shy and flustered about what should have been a professional shoot. All because you were the other model. You couldn’t help but want to tease him, to flirt back, or hint at your subtle feelings.
“In that case Lev, why don’t we try it here?” He looked at you with wide eyes, face now glowing red. You were also getting flushed, not realizing till now how bold your words were.
“Wait, we don't have to! I mean… I’ll be fine!” He looked like he was gonna fall over in his chair, waving his hands like a maniac. You couldn’t help but smile.
“Okay, just let me know.” As you turn around, Lev begins to contemplate, fighting the desire to agree to the training and the matter of being a gentleman. He takes a breather before stuttering.
“A-Actually, can we try a little, just to get our bearings?” You turned to look at him, a bit shocked and now a bit bashful. You didn’t expect him to take that offer. To be honest, you were only trying to tease a reaction out of him. You walked to his chair and gave a shy smile.
“Okay… then let’s redo what we did just now. ” He nods along, standing and gently reaching up to hover over your waist before finding the confidence to rest it above your hip. He was a bit shaky and avoided your gaze, which was endearing. You gently raise your hand up to guide his focus onto you, giving a small encouraging smile.
“I…don’t know what to do or say…” He muttered.
“It’s alright, just look at me. Think of it as if we’re dating, like the photographer said. If talking helps…say whatever comes to mind.” He was visibly struggling not to buckle under your soft gaze. His legs felt like they were going to give out, trying to see if you were comfortable. You admit, you felt just as nervous, but also safe and a bit excited to be held in this way by him, like he was in love with you. You whisper to him.
“I feel comfortable around you Lev, don’t worry.” His hands continue to shake as his face twists between being unsure and wanting. He finally found the confidence to reach down to rub your side, dipping his head down near yours.
“Sorry, I just…I think….You’re so pretty, you know… You make it hard to focus… I don’t want to do anything wrong to mess this up…” He whispered in a softer voice. Nothing inappropriate or pushy, just being genuinely honest about how he saw you, almost like a yearning. His other hand traveled up to the side of your face, tenderly holding it before resting his forehead against yours, and a shaky breath. After a moment, you let out a small laugh.
“You’re good at this. No wonder you climbed the ranks so quickly. You’re a natural at getting into character for photoshoots.” He gives a small pout, the kind a child gives when you tell them that they can't have a cookie or that playtime is over.
“Yeah…a character...But… does it feel…nice?” You felt your face heat up as you looked at him. That playful pout was cute, but you can tell how serious he was. There was no lie in his voice. He was genuinely worried about your comfort. The two of you stand there, staring at each other, blushing, but overall, not pulling away.
“I like this…if that’s what you're asking.” His face is now glowing bright red. You can feel a slight tug on your waist from his hand, egging you to come closer. You nudged closer to him. His head dipped down a bit more, lips brushing by your ear.
“Then...what if-” Soon, a knock at the door spoiled the moment. You two backed away from each other before someone called out.
“Lev, Y/N, you two ready?” Lev looked at you, bashful and still red. You smiled at him before walking out.
The two of you went back to your photoshoot. Lev had more confidence in the way he held you. His arm held your waist, respectfully, and he was giving you the same look that he did in the dressing room, the same yearning look. You too looked right in his eyes with a soft, and sometimes flirty way. You can hear the photographer’s praise and excitement about how the photos were coming out.
“Now this is the look of want, like you two were in love!” The photographer joked as he was showing off the photos. The two of you smiled politely, laughing even, but it was hard to deny the slight tension you felt. His lips by your ear, his soft and gentle touch as he held you. It was electrifying, but most of all…
It felt right, even if neither of you wanted to say it out loud.

reader is really kind and is really cute too. cute reader is real. yes we are real. also, established relationship.
dedicated to @showhay for dedicating a yamaguchi fanfic for me 🤧❤️🩹 my first time writing an x reader fanfic like this so...kinda nervous 😓
You were irresistible. You were heaven, and Hinata basically combined. It wasn't just about your well-known cute face but also for your personality. So it wasn't a surprise to have Torū Oikawa also fall for you, too.
His genuine attention was given to a few rare subjects—mainly volleyball, milk bread, and well...you. Was it really wrong for him to be persuaded by eyes that looked like they were handpicked by the gods themselves? Or finding himself heeding to every whim of yours with words that sounded like they were blissfully unaware of the sweetness stuck on them? Yes or no, Oikawa was whipped. Hard.
Now, Torū Oikawa is a man who is also found to be charming. He's got the looks, smarts, and body to be considered attractive. Because of that, he came to be used to flattery, the honeyed words of girls trying their hardest to receive even the slightest compliment from him. But you? You were different. You didn't outright flaunt your beauty, didn't beg for attention, you were yourself, and maybe that's why he fell in love. Fell in love with the way you never held back true kindness, and people still craved for it. The way you smiled—oh gosh—especially your smile.
He melts—not literally, of course—but if he could, he would whenever he sees that bright smile of yours. Every single time you flash even the smallest grin or let out the tiniest chuckle, his knees buckle. .
"Torū!" You call out, waving rapidly as you caught up to his large strides. It was a sight really, seeing the most popular boy in school freezing up at the mere sight of you. Everyone could understand, though. They couldn't fight the fact that they would react the same way, too. "You done with practice?"
His fingers carded through your hair as you wrapped your hands around his body. "I-uhm- yeah. I'm done. Wanna walk home together?" In that second, he thought that when you agreed, it would be the happiest moment he would have ever had in his entire lifetime.
But he's wrong. Maybe you would be the first person to give him so many happy experiences. For now, however? He just wants to bask in the glory of being the one to gather that many shining smiles from you.
a/n- i wrote this right b4 sleeping. dont mind if its short asf. i will make a pt2...maybe.
You and Sakusa Kiyoomi were amazing at first. You met through mutual friends from his team at a party, standing against the wall quietly as you both make fun of how stupid everyone is acting. You both had a mutual fondness and respect for each other and even established a routine based on your schedules, which allowed for time together between his volleyball practices and your busy work. You loved his drive and attention to detail when it came to himself, and he always enjoyed your passion for your work, even when others may argue that office work is bland compared to his lavish volleyball career. You knew about his germaphobia, and it never bothered you at first. Even with his germaphobia and busy schedule, you were being as understanding as possible.
That was the easier part until it wasn't.
The hard part was handling his lack of affection. You knew he was a bit of a germaphobe, and it was fine at first until you felt like it was a burden for him to be affectionate with you, always needing to wash up or sanitize before he would even consider touching you, and the smallest messes seemed to throw him off. Soon, the beginning of your relationship seemed so far away. No more flowers during special moments, less time for dates with him rising in fame, fewer I love yous, and he seemed more adamant about being clean, sometimes commenting on your apartment being messy even after you've worked a grueling shift. Eventually, you reached your breaking point one day. You had a horrible time at work and really needed support. Despite the obviously horrible day riding on your shoulders, you were still op. When he came over after his practice, he didn't comfort you until you took a shower. That did it; the cold attitude of disgust overshadowed the need to comfort and support you as your boyfriend. You felt distant, like wanting affection was gross. You were gaslighting yourself, saying that the relationship can work without the need for such affection. However, that mindset left you feeling isolated in your own relationship, feeling unwanted. You didn't hate him, but you knew this wasn't healthy. When you broke up, you simply and honestly told him.
"I love you, Kiyoomi, but I don't want to feel like being with me is disgusting to you. I deserve to feel affection, not like I'm a virus whenever I want love from you."
He watches as you leave, with a heavy heart and a gross conscience.
♡ Boyfriend Yamaguchi Tadashi ♡
It took time to heal. Leaving Sakusa was hard after dating for that long, and you found some nights to be lonelier than others. But you knew what you two had was not working out, and staying would've hurt more than now. You threw yourself into your work and slowly began to recover from the reality check you had. Eventually, you opened yourself up again with the help of some friends. You were helping with a project that involved collaboration with an electronics company. That's where you met Yamaguchi Tadashi, the sweetest boy who had just finished university and was working as a simple office worker there at the electronics company. You two spent countless nights working hard on the projects. He would bring you coffee, remembering how you'd like it and snacks, saying it was to keep you fed until you could get a proper meal. For a while, you thought he was doing this only for the good of the project. But, along the way, he started going out of his way for things. He started buying bento boxes and leaving them on your desk during late nights so you had a meal. He even bought you the specialty drink from a cafe you raved about!
He went all out for you.
After the project was completed, you were a bit sad not having a reason to see Yamaguchi anymore. He felt the same way, so he reached out, saying how he would love to get to know you more outside of work. You agreed, and the two of you went out a few times, learning all the cute quirks about him. He's utterly shy, loves soggy fries, and is dead set on making you as happy as possible to see you smile. It was no secret to anyone how much he adored you. When he asked to be your boyfriend, you were worried but still willing to give it a try. Being with him was not only healing but absolutely full of affection. He still brought you snacks and coffee when needed, dropping by during overlapping lunch breaks to go to a nearby cafe, and he's even sent flowers to your desk one day because he was too busy to visit one week. He was so attentive, so affectionate, and most of all, you felt loved. You weren't a burden, but more of something he dedicated his life to cherishing. One day, you woke up to the smell of fresh coffee being brought to you. Yamaguchi sits down next to you on the bed, handing you coffee and gently holding your hand, leaving a soft, unprompted kiss on your lips.
"You are the best person I've ever met, Y/N. I get butterflies whenever I get to kiss or hug you every time we see each other. There isn't one day I want to go by without you knowing how much I love you."
You cuddle close to him that morning, feeling his warmth surround you. It never felt cold anymore after he came into your life.
𓇢𓆸 Ex Boyfriend Kageyama Tobio 𓇢𓆸
You and Kageyama Tobio were the it couple. You were both playing pro on your respective teams, rising in fame and popularity in the volleyball world. Despite that, you both made it work in the best way you knew how. You took time to be romantic, having dinners together, buying gifts, and you even moved in together into a small apartment. At times, you and he even trained together on the court, him setting up for you while you practice your spiking. Sometimes you two would get competitive and frustrated from practicing, but you both always knew it was left on the court. News channels headlined your names together, posting on how you two would be on the next line to be married.
It really did seem like that for a while.
After getting drafted on the Japan national team, Kageyama had changed. He was stronger, but he became more calculated, more critical, and worst of all, he became an even crazier perfectionist. Practicing together soon became tense. His words cut deeper than before. He gave less advice and more judgment about your timing, your form, and your skill. It made you feel small, even though you knew you were extremely strong as a player. Problems that used to be left on the court were brought home, and soon the tension grew. If you flubbed a spike, he would grow annoyed and not talk to you at home for the night. If you tried to critique his sets, he got defensive, saying he had it right, just needed a spiker to follow through. He was less of your boyfriend and more of...a tyrant. You couldn't even breathe in your own house anymore. It was like volleyball was all he could focus on, as if you were another player rather than his partner. After one extremely bad practice session, he came home frustrated, worse than ever. It was even harder for him to accept not being able to pull off a set that day. When you tried to ask him about what he wanted for dinner, he blew up, commenting about how you think about eating with you after how badly the drills with each other went, and how you needed more practice. It's one thing for him to be upset; it's another for him to snap at you again like that. You had had enough. You broke up with him not much later, frustratingly packing an overnight bag.
"I'm not gonna be with someone who only focuses on volleyball and brings those frustrations home. I don't deserve to be belittled for messing up your sets when I know just how hard I work to be a great athlete."
And with that, you slammed the door and left, leaving him with his head hanging from a heavy crown on his head.
The breakup was rough. News lines went wild, publicly reporting on your breakup, and reporters added their own speculations as to why the suddenly tight relationship grew sour. You didn't care; you just needed to move on. You went on a short break from your training, and some grew worried whether or not you'd come back into the spotlight. The few people who knew the situation comforted you the best they could, including family, teammates, and friends, both separate and mutual. Among them was Miya Atsumu, someone who has known both of you for a while. You two were great high school friends, and he was the one who introduced you to Kageyama. Hearing about your breakup hurt him mainly because you were crying over a guy he introduced to you. Made him feel horrible. What made it worse was how Atsumu looked at you with yearning in his heart, silently wanting you, even now. He kept that quiet all this time because you loved Kageyama. You two were a couple that seemed perfect together, and he didn't want to ruin it. He convinced himself that being in your life was enough. He can still see you smile, even if it's for another man. His yearning for you only grew over time, and seeing you in tears after the breakup shattered him.
After all, Atsumu has always been in love with you.
A week or so later, he knocked on your door. You open it to see him holding a bottle of wine, some groceries, and a supportive smile. The two of you go to the kitchen, pouring some wine as he looks around your place. It's barely decorated, bought last-minute after moving out with your boxes still everywhere. He took a few things out of the kitchen box: unused pans and pots, meaning you've just been having takeout or nothing at all. So, he made you something, nothing fancy, just pasta, but it was better than takeout. You sit on the counter watching him. The two of you don't talk about Kageyama; you just talk like normal friends as he cooks, occasionally passing things over. The two of you had dinner and wine together that night, and it brought you a silent comfort you never thought you needed. Or rather, this is something Astumu always did for you. Ever since high school, he has always been there as your support, never judging you for making less-than-ideal choices, and always there when you needed someone to be without hesitation. Eventually, the topic did end up on the breakup, causing you to tear up and become upset. Atsumu's heart shattered, seeing your glossy eyes and heart aching, wondering what you could've done differently. He doesn't say much, but his actions do. He pulls you in and hugs you, softly whispering in your ear about how you were amazing, how he was the problem for pushing you away, and such. You clung onto that comfort, the buzz from the wine slowly hitting both of you. That's when Atsumu's yearning took over. He softly looks at you with the same yearning that's been festering for years. All the times he comforted you, cooked for you, complimented you, were all ways of him silently hoping you'd feel the same way too. It was about time he became honest.
"He may love volleyball more, but I love ya' the most... Would it be so bad to give me a chance, to show ya' how much better being with me can be?"
You didn't say anything, but the soft smile and gentle holding of his hand already said so much. You can always trust Astumu, even with your heart.
𓇢𓆸 Ex Boyfriend Ushijima Wakatoshi 𓇢𓆸
Ushijima Wakatoshi is what many people expected: a gentleman, driven, and strong both mentally and physically. The two of you started dating not too long ago after meeting at one of his games not too long ago as a trainee under Iwaizumi’s watch. You two started to get to know each other, and sooner or later, he confessed to you after a practice one day. Nothing extravagant, just a simple “I like you, romantically”. Some may find it off-putting, but it was Ushijima you were talking about. It was something you’ve learned to expect. He was what you described as predictable. He followed the same schedule and routine most of the time, making it easy to guess where he was and what he was up to. But he still managed to carve out time to come over and take you out. You’d mostly end up going to a fancy restaurant together as a date. It was the highlight of your week, working so hard at your apprenticeship, then ending with your boyfriend wanting to spoil you with a nice dinner. It was everything you could ask for in a relationship. Even with his stone-coldness, you loved him enough to keep holding on.
But somewhere, everything changed.
After a year or so of dating, the stone-cold demeanor was no longer something you could tolerate. You were patient, hoping he would ease up and slowly get warmer, but it didn’t happen. Ushijima remained the same stone-cold exterior he’s had. Something about that hurt, the fact that he didn’t treat you like the two of you were dating. He didn’t really show affection even after that year. It was mostly you initiating; every hug, every kiss, every hand holding. Even the times you sleep over, he always starts the night with a confused question, like why you needed to if you had a lovely apartment. It was as if he didn't understand what being in a relationship meant. It became suffocating being in a relationship that didn’t seem like one. You were a person who wanted affection, even just a bit. But, from the looks of it, you wouldn’t be getting that. One night, he came home late from practice. It was your anniversary night, and you had gotten all dolled up and ready, even made dinner. But he still came home late. When you confronted him, he struggled to meet your gaze, saying it seemed like a natural milestone that you didn’t need to celebrate. You’ll have another anniversary soon. You broke a little inside. Anniversaries are important, well, they were important. He didn't even compliment you on how you looked, something you took hours putting effort into for him. You called him out, got frustrated and upset, and prayed he would show some kind of reaction. But all he did was apologize and try to move on, saying that having love for each other was enough. But it isn't, not for a man you've been dating for so long. You were tired of being the afterthought, of having romance in your own relationship being an unnecessary thing. You were human, you wanted to feel…wanted. You took your things, the meal untouched, and walked past him, saying it was over. When he tried to stop you, you only stared at him.
“I’m sorry, Ushijima. But I can’t make a relationship work with someone who treats me like just another person in his life.”
And with that, you walked out, leaving him feeling colder and ironically lonely and guilty for taking you for granted.
Getting back into the swing of things took time and was a process. Trying the dating pool again seemed so daunting, always nervous about whether you’ll get treated the same way. You spent many nights walking around to clear your head. It was peaceful, and it helped calm you down whenever you thought back to Ushijima. One night, it was particularly late, and you were caught up in your own thoughts. You were walking past a bar when a group of men came out, obviously drunk. They began harassing you a bit, catcalling and such. It wasn't until they followed you down the street and got really close that you started to get nervous. One of them grabbed your arm, causing you to struggle and yell at them to let you go. Soon, you can hear a loud commanding voice, and someone’s arm gently wraps around you. That’s when you met Sawamura Daichi. He was nearby on patrol until he heard the noise, literally a knight in shining armor. You thanked him kindly as he checked on you. You can feel the heat rise to your face as he guides you to his patrol car and drives you home. When you got home, he walked you to your door, smiling nervously as you thanked him again. Maybe it was the moonlight, but you left that man gobsmacked, speechless. So much so that he handed you his number in case you needed help again — emergencies and such, right?
Let’s just say, you didn’t use the number as an emergency number.
The two of you messaged often, almost every single day at all hours. You two talked for so long about your day and your interests, getting to know each other properly. You noticed his warmth, his kindness, and most of all, his charm. He never hesitated to compliment or praise you for something that happened, and every time you saw each other in passing, he always said hello and how beautiful you looked. He was a total gentleman and the biggest simp for you. One day, he gathered the courage to ask you out. Not in a text or anything, but at your door. He came by with flowers, chocolate, and your favorite boba tea from this high-end cafe. He shuffled nervously in place before asking you if you’d want to go to dinner at a new restaurant that was opening. He was blushing and hiding his face behind the flowers, waiting for your answer. It was a no-brainer for you; you wanted to go with him. A few days later, he picks you up from your place, dressed in a button-down and nice jeans with a dark jacket. It was hard to tell that he was a nervous wreck before. As soon as you stepped out, he couldn’t help but gawk at you. He stuttered, going on about how breathtaking you looked and how he couldn’t believe you said yes to going on a date with him. You laugh and joke about being the lucky one, but honestly, you really were. The restaurant was beautiful, the food was amazing, and his attention was all on you. He held your hand gently as you two talked and enjoyed the music, getting to know each other beyond surface-level questions. He made sure you were comfortable, even giving his jacket to you. It was romantic. He was romantic. By the end of your date, he held your hand at your door. The same place where this all started, with the same nervous look he had before. He looked at you like he didn't want this to end just yet. He gently held your face and whispered.
“Thank you for trusting me. I’d love to do so much more for you in the future if you’d let me Y/N. I’ll give you all that you want and deserve.”
Your heart swooned a little. You can feel the affection and sincerity behind his words, not just emptiness. You held him close, knowing that he was the right guy, he was affectionate.
