neito always had his hands on you.

not in a sexual way, but protectively and kindly, you would always know that as long as he was by your side, you would be safe. he hated physical touch from other people unless he was trying to manipulate them, otherwise, you were the only person he was fine having it with. it was extremely apparent that he loved it with you and only you.

he’d smack someone’s hand off his shoulder if someone lay theirs there, and brush off his clothes as if they dirtied it. if you did it, however, he’d be wearing those clothes for weeks.

neito would have a strong arm wrapped around your shoulder while talking late at night with your classmates in the common area, most of them ready to sleep. he twirls your hair around his finger in class if he’s particularly bored, although he has to be next to you or behind you to do that.

during passing periods, he pulls you aside to place a warm hand on your waist and another on your cheek. he’d kiss you for a while, so intimately and sweetly. sometimes he gets carried away, and you have to tell him no one wants to see two teenagers making out at eight o’clock in the morning at school.

he’d roll his eyes, and although he often gets weird stares from his classmates at how much pda he shows, he doesn’t care. you’re only his.

You were still trying to catch your breath, heart thrumming in your chest as you lay back against the sheets. The air in the room was still thick with the scent of skin and sweat, body pulsing where he had touched you, kissed you. You loved the euphoria of this feeling, the soft moments after making love where you could just bask in the warmth of your climax.

As if interrupting your thoughts, soft fingers traced your hip in a slow soothing motion as you turned to look over at the man who had just thoroughly ruined you. Neito Monoma. Usual cocky expression replaced with something softer, hesitant, almost affectionate. His golden hair was a tousled mess, his brow furrowed and lips parted, like he didn’t know what to say but wanted to say something all the same. Instead choosing to shift closer and wrap an arm around your waist, head resting against you as he seemingly breathed you in, pressing a kiss to your temple that was far too soft even for him.

Monoma wasn’t usually quiet like this. He liked to talk, to tease, to gloat, always eager to prove himself. But now, he only breathed you in, pressing his mouth to your neck in slow, lingering kisses that had nothing to do with showmanship and everything to do with how deeply he felt.

“I didn’t hurt you, did I?” he asked suddenly, his voice low and a little uncertain against your skin. You turned slightly to look at him. His eyes were fixed on you now, genuinely waiting, worried, even. “No,” you said softly, running your fingers through his messy hair. “You were perfect.” His jaw tensed for a second before he dipped his head to press a kiss to your sternum, then another lower, slow, deliberate. “Of course I was,” he said, but it was whispered, almost shy.

His hand slid along your thigh, not quite sexual, but intimate, grounding. He rested his palm there, thumb brushing lazy circles against your skin. “I like when you say things like that,” he added, voice quieter now, like he wasn’t sure he meant for it to come out. “You mean the praise?” you asked.He hesitated, then nodded once. “From you? Yes.”

His hands continued their ministrations as he trailed his fingers over marks he had left on you moments before, a small smile tugging at his lips, only slightly smug. He stared at them in appreciation before pressing a kiss to each one, “I love you, you know. Probably more than you think.” His voice was soft and you weren’t even sure if it was meant to be heard or just whispered into the softness of your skin.

Your fingers thread through his hair in a gentle caress, bringing his attention back to your face as he leaned up to place a soft kiss on your lips. It was gentle and chaste but it held more emotion than he’d like to think. “I love you too,” you whispered in the space between you both. He smiled in that soft delicate way that only you got to see before placing another kiss to your lips before speaking to you gently, “Let’s go get you cleaned up.”

Students darted between game stalls, arms full of souvenirs and snacks, their cheerful voices echoing against the wide courtyards and colorful banners.

Over near the gym, a crowd dispersed, still buzzing after Class 1-B’s latest performance: “Romeo, Juliet, and the Prisoner of Azkaban: The Return of the Kings.”

Inside the backstage area, members of Class 1-B were hard at work cleaning up the remnants of their overly ambitious crossover production. Feathers from fake angel wings littered the floor, fake swords were piled in a corner, and someone’s wand prop had snapped in half.

“Can someone explain why there was a dragon in Act Three?” Kendo Itsuka groaned, sweeping glitter off a table with a rag.

“That was my idea!” Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu said proudly, still in half of his armor costume. “Every good play needs a dragon! It’s called flair!”

Kendo pinched the bridge of her nose. “You set the curtains on fire.”

“Flair!” he repeated.

[Last Name] chuckled from across the room, helping fold costumes into a box. “To be fair, it did make the ending feel… intense.”

Her laughter was soft, a welcome calm in the post-performance mess. She brushed off a streak of gold paint on her sleeve before glancing toward the corner, where Neito Monoma, ever the self-proclaimed star, stood admiring a hand mirror like he’d just come off Broadway.

“Truly magnificent,” he said to his reflection, flipping his blond hair dramatically. “A performance for the ages! Our rivals in Class 1-A could never dream of achieving such theatrical greatness.”

Jurota Shishida, already halfway out the door, rolled his eyes. “Right, right… I’m heading out to see Class 1-A’s concert before it ends.”

A few others perked up at the mention. Pony Tsunotori clapped her hands. “Ooh! They said Jirou-san’s band was really good!”

“Yeah, I heard they even got Bakugo on drums,” added Manga Fukidashi, his speech bubble helmet flickering with excitement.

Monoma spun around, eyes wide in mock betrayal. “Traitors! My dear classmates, have you no loyalty? To abandon our glorious troupe for them—our eternal rivals—!”

“Monoma, calm down,” Kendo said tiredly.

He ignored her completely, stepping onto a box of props like a politician about to give a speech. “Dear Classmates! We cannot fraternize with the enemy! Remember, they are our sworn adversaries in the battle for festival superiority!”

The room fell silent, all eyes on him. Somewhere, someone stifled a laugh.

In truth, no one in Class 1-B really hated Class 1-A. Sure, there was competition, but most of them thought Monoma’s obsession was… well, very Monoma.

[Name] stood by, arms crossed, a small, amused smile tugging at her lips. She couldn’t help but watch him, his confidence larger than life. He was ridiculous, but there was something magnetic about it.

WHACK! Kendo’s enlarged hand came down on his head like a hammer.

“—best… class…” Monoma finished weakly, wobbling before collapsing into Kendo’s arms.

The others sweat-dropped in unison.

Kendo sighed, shrinking her hand back to normal. “We talked about this, Monoma. The festival’s supposed to be fun, remember? Not a competition. You’re giving everyone secondhand embarrassment.”

She turned to [Name]. “Can you keep an eye on him? He’ll wake up soon, and I don’t want him sneaking off to ‘spy’ on Class 1-A again.”

[Name] nodded, suppressing a grin. “Sure thing. I’ll make sure he doesn’t start another speech when he wakes up.”

He rose to his feet, adjusting his vest and straightening his hair as though nothing had happened. But [Name] noticed the faint flush that lingered on his cheeks, maybe from embarrassment, or maybe from realizing how close she’d been while he was unconscious.

Before she could respond, the door swung open and Kendo returned, carrying a plate of takoyaki and looking like someone who’d already had to stop five arguments in the past five minutes.

“Monoma,” she said flatly.

He froze mid-rant, caught like a cat about to be sprayed with water. “Kendo! You’ve returned! Surely you’ve come to congratulate me on—”

“—not causing a scene? Yeah, that’s what I was hoping for,” she interrupted, setting the plate on a table. “Don’t start another Class 1-A debate, okay? We just finished cleaning, and I’d like to survive this festival without another migraine.”

Monoma puffed out his chest. “You underestimate my ability to behave, Kendo. I am the epitome of—”

“Monoma,” she warned, raising her hand slightly.

He immediately backed down with a nervous laugh. “—of calm and collected maturity!”

But Tetsutetsu, already munching on something from a nearby stall, perked up. “Aw, come on! It’s the festival! Let’s go try it out! What’s the worst that could happen?”

Komori giggled. “It’s supposed to tell your future hero compatibility! Like who you’d make a good team with!”

He smirked, placing a hand on his chest. “Doubt me all you wish, [Last Name]. Greatness is often misunderstood.”

Kendo crossed her arms. “Fine. But if something explodes, you’re cleaning it up.”

“Noted!” Monoma declared proudly, already marching toward the door.

Tetsutetsu laughed, following after him. “This is gonna be great!”

Komori clapped her hands and skipped after them. “Let’s go, let’s go!”

Kendo sighed, grabbing her plate again. “This is either going to be hilarious or catastrophic.”

“Correct!” Mei said proudly. “It’s powered by a combination of quirk-reactive sensors, emotional feedback algorithms, and a small chance of static electricity!”

Monoma stepped forward, hand to his chest like a knight accepting a challenge. “Static electricity or not, I, Monoma Neito of Class 1-B, shall bravely test this device to prove our unparalleled hero synergy!”

[Name] groaned softly. “You’re going to end up glowing or something.”

Mei snapped her fingers. “Ooh, I like that enthusiasm! Please, step right up, Class 1-B’s golden boy!”

Behind him, Tetsutetsu pumped his fist. “Go, Monoma! Represent us!”

Komori giggled. “He’s so confident! I hope it doesn’t explode!”

Kendo deadpanned. “Don’t say that out loud.”

Monoma took a deep breath, dramatically rolling up his sleeves as if about to perform heart surgery. He turned to [Name] with a smirk. “Watch closely, [Last Name]. You’re about to witness scientific proof of greatness.”

[Name] crossed her arms. “Or proof of your bad decisions.”

Undeterred, Monoma stepped into the booth. Inside, a strange looking chair sat beneath a metallic arch covered in blinking lights and cables. Mei adjusted a few knobs and flipped her goggles down.

“All right! This will analyze your emotional wavelengths, hero potential, and compatibility energy! Please place your hand on the scanner, and—oh! Don’t move too much if it starts buzzing.”

“Buzzing?” Kendo repeated, alarmed.

Monoma smirked. “A little buzzing is nothing compared to the electric thrill of victory!”

He placed his hand on the panel. It hummed to life immediately, the lights flickering faster and faster. For a brief second, everything seemed to work.

Then came the spark.

“Uh, is it supposed to do that?” [Name] asked carefully.

The arch above Monoma started glowing bright pink, followed by a loud pop and a puff of purple smoke. Monoma yelped as the booth vibrated violently.

“Ah! What is—AHHH!”

“Monoma!” Kendo shouted, rushing forward.

Mei clapped her hands, delighted. “It’s working! It’s reading his biofeedback at maximum output! Fascinating!”

“It’s malfunctioning!” Kendo yelled.

The lights flashed rapidly, and suddenly, a holographic screen appeared above the booth, projecting Monoma’s “compatibility results” for everyone in the crowd to see:

“Romantic Compatibility Detected: 99.9% Match with—[Last Name]!”

There was a stunned silence.

Then Tetsutetsu broke it with a booming laugh. “WHAAAAAT?! NO WAY!”

Komori gasped, covering her mouth. “That’s so cute!”

Kendo facepalmed. “Oh, you’ve got to be kidding me.”

[Name] froze, eyes wide. “Wait—what—no, that can’t—”

Before she could finish, Monoma stumbled out of the booth, hair frazzled and suit slightly smoking. His eyes darted to the floating display, then to her.

“W-what kind of faulty pseudoscience is this!?” he sputtered, trying to hide the blush creeping up his neck. “Surely the machine must have… misread!”

Mei tilted her head. “Nope! I double-checked the sensors. Fluctuating heart rate, elevated temperature, reactive bio-signature… yep! Totally mutual!”

[Name] felt her face heat up. “M-Mutual?!”

“Ah, yes!” Mei said, oblivious to the mortified expressions around her. “See, when two people have overlapping emotional energy patterns—”

“Stop talking!” Monoma barked, his voice breaking slightly.

The crowd around them had started gathering—students from other classes, curious bystanders, and even a few Support Department techs who had come to see the commotion.

“Is this part of a skit?” someone asked.

“It looks so real!” another said.

“Are they acting or actually dating?”

Monoma’s pride visibly cracked. He straightened up, his usual grin twitching as he tried to salvage his image.

“Of course this is… all part of the Class 1-B entertainment experience!” he declared, spreading his arms. “Yes! We’ve partnered with the Support Department to bring you an interactive romantic comedy demonstration! How clever of us!”

Kendo groaned audibly. “He’s improvising.”

[Name] buried her face in her hands. “Oh no.”

But the crowd cheered, taking it as confirmation. Phones came out, flashes went off, and the situation spiraled even further.

“Tell us your confession line, Monoma!” someone shouted from the crowd.

“Yes! Confess!” another voice joined in.

[Name] waved her hands frantically. “It’s not—this isn’t—”

Monoma froze, caught between his ego and the unbearable redness of his face. His mind raced for something, anything, that would maintain his pride without exposing how much the idea of confessing terrified him.

He inhaled, flipping his hair back and forcing a grin. “Well, if you insist! Ahem!”

He turned toward [Name], his voice theatrically loud.

“How could I not fall for someone who stands beside me through every trial, every victory, every defeat! Your brilliance rivals even my own—perhaps the only one who could ever truly understand my genius!”

The crowd erupted.

[Name], completely red now, could only gape at him. “Monoma—!”

He wasn’t finished. “Yes! You are the Juliet to my genius! The patronus to my ambition! The—ow—KENDO!”

Kendo’s enlarged hand came down again, smacking him square on the head. “You’re digging your own grave!”

The crowd laughed harder, thinking it was all part of the performance. Mei clapped enthusiastically. “That was amazing! Totally organic romantic energy!”

Monoma stumbled, rubbing his head, but his eyes met [Name]’s, and for just a second, the noise faded. She was still flustered, still mortified, but there was something soft in her expression, something that made his chest feel even warmer than the electricity had.

He cleared his throat, voice quieter now. “A-anyway… that concludes the demonstration.”

[Name] managed a shaky smile. “Yeah. Demonstration.”

The crowd began to disperse, still laughing and gossiping, while Kendo muttered something about needing a week-long nap.

Mei was already scribbling notes. “Fascinating! I need more test subjects—oh, maybe I’ll add a built-in truth serum next time!”

“Please don’t,” [Name] and Kendo said in unison.

As the noise died down, Monoma let out a breath he didn’t realize he’d been holding. His pride was in tatters, his reputation in question, and yet, when he saw [Name] trying to hide a small smile behind her hand, he couldn’t bring himself to regret it.

Videos of the incident had already flooded the school’s social media channels. Someone had added dramatic background music, slow-motion shots, and even captions like “True Love Sparks (Literally)” and “Support Department’s First Ship Success!”

Class 1-B was in chaos.

“MONOMA! YOU’RE TRENDING!” Tetsutetsu shouted as he barged into the room, holding up his phone like a trophy. “Look, you’ve got almost ten thousand views!”

Monoma’s eye twitched. He snatched the phone, jaw dropping as the video replayed his mortifying ‘confession’ in perfect clarity.

“‘The Juliet to my genius’—WHY DID NO ONE STOP RECORDING?!” he shrieked, slamming the phone face down.

Kendo sighed. “We tried. You were too busy declaring your eternal love in front of fifty people.”

Komori giggled from her seat. “It was so cute, though! You even blushed!”

“I. did. not. blush!” Monoma stammered, a clear pink tinge rising again to his cheeks.

“Sure you didn’t,” Kendo muttered, flipping through her textbook.

Before the debate could continue, the door slid open, and walked [Name].

Instant silence.

The second she stepped in, heads turned. Whispers spread like wildfire.

[Name] froze mid-step, realizing all eyes were on her. She glanced toward Monoma, who looked equally panicked.

Kendo leaned forward, whispering, “You might want to fix this before people start making merch.”

Monoma inhaled sharply, stood up, and dramatically pointed toward [Name].

“Aha! You’ve come to… continue the act!” he declared, voice slightly cracking at the end.

“…Act?” [Name] echoed, raising an eyebrow.

“Yes!” he said, waving his hands in wild gestures. “You see, dear classmates, the Fortune Booth incident was, uh, a coordinated performance between Class 1-B and the Support Department! A demonstration of camaraderie and, er, romantic improvisation!”

[Name] blinked. He was really doubling down on this?

“…Romantic improvisation?” she repeated flatly.

“Precisely!” Monoma insisted, puffing his chest. “We wanted to test emotional resonance under pressure! You were all participants in an experiment of the human heart!”

Kendo groaned. “This is painful to watch.”

Tetsutetsu laughed, slapping Monoma’s back. “Nice save, bro! Totally believable!”

“It’s not believable at all,” [Name] said dryly, crossing her arms. “You sound like you just made that up on the spot.”

“I—what—nonsense!” Monoma sputtered, trying to recover his composure. “We both knew what we were doing! Right, [Last Name]?”

She stared at him for a long moment, then smirked.

If he wanted to keep pretending, she could play along… at least a little.

“Of course,” she said smoothly, turning to the class. “I mean, who wouldn’t want to fake-confess in front of a hundred people for fun?”

Kendo snorted. Komori clapped happily. “You guys are such good actors!”

Monoma blinked at her, thrown off by how easily she matched his tone. “Y-yes! Exactly! She’s… very committed to the craft.”

Her lips twitched upward. “You looked committed too when you said ‘Juliet to my genius.’”

His face turned scarlet. “T-that was… improvisational flair!”

The class laughed again, the tension breaking. But as everyone started chatting, Monoma leaned closer to her, voice dropping to a whisper.

“You’re enjoying this too much.”

She smirked, not looking at him. “You started it.”

For a moment, their eyes met, and though they both looked away almost immediately, the air between them felt heavier. Familiar. Warm.

Komori, who had been watching them, leaned toward Kendo and whispered, “They totally like each other.”

Kendo sighed. “Yeah. But if we tell them that, their brains will short-circuit.”

Later that day

The incident had spread far beyond their classroom. Posters were appearing at the festival grounds, jokingly labeling them as “Fortune Booth Success Story #1.”

Even Mei had joined in, placing a framed printout of their holographic result on her booth’s display board, complete with a big red heart drawn around their names.

When [Name] passed Mei, Mei waved cheerfully. “You two are my best advertisement! You should thank me, the customers doubled!”

“Thank you?” [Name] said, incredulous. “You nearly electrocuted us!”

“But it sparked something beautiful!” Mei said proudly. “You can’t buy chemistry like that!”

Monoma groaned beside her. “Please stop using the word ‘sparked.’”

Still, as they walked away, [Name] noticed him sneaking glances at her. Every time she caught his eye, he quickly looked elsewhere, pretending to fix his gloves or adjust his tie.

When they passed a group of students giggling and whispering, Monoma straightened his posture. “Tsk. Rumors spread like wildfire here.”

“Only because you added fuel,” she teased.

He shot her a look. “Oh, and you didn’t? You played along perfectly fine.”

“I had to,” she said, tilting her head, a teasing smile playing on her lips. “Someone had to save your reputation.”

“My reputation was never in danger,” he retorted, though his faint blush said otherwise.

“Sure,” she murmured, smiling.

For a brief moment, they stopped walking, standing close enough that the noise of the festival faded into background static. Neither spoke. The air between them was charged, uncertain, but… almost comfortable.

He exhaled quietly. “You know,” he said softly, “if we were actually a couple, we’d make quite the spectacle.”

She raised an eyebrow. “Is that supposed to be a compliment?”

“Perhaps.”

A small laugh escaped her lips, light and genuine. “You’re impossible.”

“Yet, you’re still here,” he replied before realizing how that sounded. His words hung in the air for a second too long.

Her expression softened, and for a moment, neither of them seemed to know what to say.

Then Kendo’s voice echoed from behind them. “Hey, lovebirds! Don’t wander too far, we’ve still got cleanup duty!”

Both turned crimson instantly.

“We’re not—!” they chorused in unison, earning laughter from the rest of Class 1-B nearby.

But even as Monoma huffed dramatically and [Name] tried to look annoyed, neither could fully wipe the smile from their faces.

By late afternoon, the sun dipped lower behind the school’s tall walls, painting everything gold. The festival was at its liveliest, students running from booth to booth, music from Class 1-A’s concert echoing faintly across the courtyard, the scent of takoyaki and caramelized sugar drifting through the air.

Class 1-B had gathered at their own section again, with Komori selling mushroom-themed snacks, Tetsutetsu arm wrestling festival-goers, and Kendo trying to make sure no one set off another “Support Department special.”

[Name] sat near the edge of the booth, holding a cup of lemonade and finally relaxing, until Monoma appeared, dramatically sweeping aside the curtain to their stall.

“Dear classmates!” he began, striking a pose. “The time has come for the performance results survey!”

Kendo groaned from across the table. “Oh no.”

“Yes!” Monoma continued, proudly holding up a clipboard with an exaggerated grin. “A grand democratic event where U.A. students vote for the superior festival performance!”

Komori clapped. “Ooooh, sounds fun!”

Tetsutetsu grinned. “We’re totally beating Class 1-A this year, right?”

Monoma’s eyes gleamed dangerously. “We must. For pride! For Class 1-B’s honor! For—”

Kendo smacked the clipboard down. “For sanity. Please.”

[Name] laughed softly, sipping her drink. “You really never rest, do you?”

He glanced at her, pausing for half a second too long before answering. “Competition is the essence of greatness, [Last Name].”

“Or maybe you just like proving you’re right,” she teased.

He gasped in mock offense. “How could you say such a thing? I am humble in victory!”

“Right,” she said dryly. “And dramatic in defeat.”

Before Monoma could respond, a crowd began forming nearby, Class 1-A’s concert was reaching its last performance. Students were flocking toward the outdoor stage, and even Class 1-B started drifting that way.

Komori tugged Kendo’s sleeve. “Come on! Let’s go see!”

Kendo sighed. “Fine, fine, just don’t cause trouble, okay?”

Tetsutetsu flexed. “Trouble? Never!”

Monoma crossed his arms. “Bah. I refuse to contribute to their popularity statistics.”

[Name] grinned, grabbing his wrist. “Then don’t contribute. Just… Come watch. You might actually enjoy it.”

He blinked, caught off guard by her hand on his. The warmth of her touch threw him off just enough to make his usual retort disappear.

“I—uh—very well,” he said quickly, adjusting his cape. “For evaluation purposes.”

They joined the crowd together, weaving through students laughing and dancing under the strings of lights. The atmosphere was bright, alive, almost magical.

As Jirou and her band finished the last chorus, confetti exploded overhead. The audience roared with applause.

[Name] clapped along, her eyes lighting up as she watched. “Wow,” she said. “They’re really good.”

Monoma, arms crossed, tried to look unimpressed, but failed. “Hm. Not… terrible.”

She laughed. “Admit it, they were great.”

He glanced at her, watching how her hair caught the festival lights, how her smile looked genuine and warm. For a fleeting moment, he forgot the crowd. The noise. Everything.

And then someone shouted nearby—

“Hey, look! It’s the Fortune Booth couple!”

Heads turned. Students whispered, pointed, and giggled.

Monoma immediately tensed. “They’re still talking about that?!”

“FINE! If you wish for a performance, then I shall deliver one worthy of Class 1-B!”

Kendo, from somewhere in the crowd, muttered, “Again? This can’t end well.”

Monoma turned toward [Name], expression caught between defiance and panic. He could feel the stares. The noise. The expectation.

His pulse raced. His thoughts scattered. And before he could think twice, the words came spilling out, loud, theatrical, but undeniably sincere.

“You, [Last Name]—you are the Juliet to my Romeo! The spark to my genius! The one person who challenges my every thought and makes me want to prove myself more than anyone else!”

The crowd gasped, then erupted in laughter and applause. Someone whistled. Others began cheering.

Kendo facepalmed. “He actually did it…”

[Name], frozen in place, stared at him, eyes wide, heart pounding. He looked equally horrified at his own words, as if realizing what he’d just said.

“I-I mean, that was a reenactment!” he blurted, voice cracking. “For dramatic purposes only! Purely theatrical!”

The crowd didn’t buy it.

“Sure it was!” someone yelled. “He’s blushing!”

Tetsutetsu laughed so hard he nearly fell over. “Monoma, you’re redder than Kirishima’s hair!”

Komori squealed. “It’s so romantic!”

[Name] hid her face with her hands. “Oh my god…”

Monoma, mortified, tried to recover some dignity. “I—uh—thank you all for attending this unscheduled performance! Class 1-B always aims to entertain!”

Kendo groaned. “Smooth save, theater boy.”

But as the laughter died down, Monoma glanced at [Name] again. Her hands were still over her face, but she was laughing, quietly, genuinely.

When she finally looked up, she met his gaze.

“That was… very bold of you,” she said softly.

He swallowed hard. “It… wasn’t intentional.”

“I know.” She smiled faintly. “That’s what made it sweet.”

For once, Monoma had no clever retort. His usual smugness was gone, replaced by a flustered, nervous kind of silence.

The crowd began dispersing as Class 1-A’s concert wrapped up, but the two of them remained standing there, just staring, the air buzzing with unspoken words.

Kendo walked past them, muttering to herself, “If they’re not together by the end of the night, I swear—”

She glanced toward the other side of the courtyard, where Monoma stood alone beneath a lamppost. He was staring up at the sky, hands in his pockets, his usual overconfident posture replaced by something quieter. Thoughtful.

For a second, she just watched him.

Without the dramatic speeches, the teasing grin, or his constant rivalry rants, he looked almost… gentle.

Then he turned his head and caught her looking.

He walked over, his steps echoing lightly against the pavement. “Kendo’s been threatening to confiscate my vocal cords if I ‘declare anything else in public,’” he said, mimicking her voice with playful precision.

That earned a quiet laugh from her. “Sounds like her.”

Monoma stopped beside her bench, glancing up at the empty sky. “You’d think after all this, I’d feel… humiliated.”

“You don’t?” she asked.

“I do,” he admitted. “But also…” He hesitated, then exhaled. “It wasn’t all bad.”

[Name] tilted her head. “You mean being called the ‘Juliet to your genius’ in front of the entire school?”

He groaned. “Must you repeat it?”

“You said it.”

He looked away, muttering, “In a moment of weakness.”

The first firework shot into the air then, bursting into a cascade of gold. The light reflected across his eyes, making them shine even more than usual.

For a long moment, neither spoke. The fireworks continued, red, blue, white, painting the courtyard in color.

Finally, [Name] said quietly, “You know, for all the chaos you caused today… you were kind of brave.”

“Brave?” he repeated, surprised.

“Yeah.” She smiled softly, eyes still on the sky. “You put yourself out there. Most people would’ve run off and hidden after something that embarrassing.”

He studied her profile, her calm voice against the backdrop of fireworks. “You stayed, too,” he said quietly.

“Of course I did.” She looked at him now. “Someone had to make sure you didn’t set another booth on fire.”

He smiled faintly. “And here I thought it was out of affection.”

Her lips curved upward. “You’d like that, wouldn’t you?”

“…Maybe,” he said honestly.

That one word hung between them—simple, unguarded.

She blinked, caught off guard by how sincere it sounded.

“Monoma,” she said softly, her tone shifting. “Did you mean what you said earlier?”

He froze. “Which part?”

“The… Juliet thing.”

The question hung in the air, delicate as the sparks falling from the sky.

Monoma’s usual smirk faltered. His throat tightened. “It was, well, it was mostly improvisation,” he began. Then quieter, almost too quiet to hear: “But… not entirely.”

Her heartbeat stumbled. “Not entirely?”

He looked at her then, no theatrics, no grin, no playful arrogance. Just Monoma, earnest and flustered and human.

“I may have exaggerated,” he said, fumbling for words, “but… I do admire you. You challenge me. You never let me get away with anything, and yet you still, somehow, tolerate me.”

[Name] blinked. “That’s your confession?”

He huffed, crossing his arms as if to mask his embarrassment. “I’m not exactly experienced at this!”

She giggled softly, and his ears turned red. “No, it’s… actually perfect,” she said gently.

He looked at her in surprise. “Perfect?”

She nodded. “Because it’s you.”

For a second, he just stood there, caught between disbelief and awe. Then the corner of his mouth lifted into a small, genuine smile, the kind that didn’t try to prove anything.

“I suppose,” he said, voice softer than usual, “if I were to have a Juliet… I wouldn’t mind if it were you.”

[Name]’s cheeks warmed. “You know, you could’ve just said you liked me.”

“That’s far less poetic,” he said automatically.

They both laughed then, light, easy, and real.

As another firework bloomed above them, [Name] reached up and brushed confetti from his shoulder. “You still have glitter from the play,” she said.

He looked down at her hand, then at her eyes, and smiled. “A fair trade. You’ve got paint on your cheek.”

Without thinking, he reached out to wipe it away, but his fingers lingered, just a little too long.

Neither pulled back.

The world seemed to still, the noise, the colors, the lights, all fading until there were just the two of them, standing close under the crackling sky.

And when the next firework burst, golden light washing over them, Monoma leaned in, hesitant but sure, and pressed a small, uncertain kiss to her cheek.

When he pulled away, his face was bright red. “For research purposes,” he muttered.

[Name] smiled, heart racing. “Right. Research.”

Kendo’s distant voice rang from across the courtyard: “IF YOU TWO ARE MAKING OUT, I SWEAR—”

They both jumped apart immediately, laughing so hard they could barely breathe.

The fireworks roared one last time above them, and Monoma, flustered, ridiculous, and glowing, looked at her with a grin that said everything he couldn’t.

“Next year,” he said, “we’ll make sure the survey results show our performance as the best.”

She nudged him lightly. “You just want another excuse to make a scene.”

He winked. “Only if you’re in it.”

And as the final sparks faded into the night sky, [Name] thought that maybe, just maybe, she wouldn’t mind being part of his chaos again.

imagine having a quirk that makes your body work like a magnet. and when monoma copies it without a second thought, your bodies smush together. your heads bonk against each other, and you’re pretty sure your teeth clank from the impact (your lips may have touched, too).

you push him by the shoulders, your arms shaking due to the strength the movement requires. you see his face—shocked, frozen in place. you squeeze his shoulder, repeating “earth to monoma,” when he takes too long to respond. he suddenly deactivates his quirk, causing your bodies to part.

he doesn’t make a single sound, eyes still wide. you think yours widen too at some point, because the expression he’s making is so... new. you never thought you’d see him so caught off guard, even if you tried. and it looks strange on him— uncharacteristic. before you can hold it in, you burst out laughing.

he seems to calm down after hearing that. he was afraid he made you uncomfortable, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. he mutters a quiet apology, his usual smile returning. when your laughing fit doesn’t end anytime soon, he crosses his arms and gives you an unimpressed look.

you hold your stomach and cover your mouth, trying your best to stop laughing. why on earth would that happen? well, you know why, but it’s way too ridiculous. you feel warm all over, like your body’s about to fall apart. your giggles slowly die out. you breathe in and out. “it’s fine,” you say. “who could’ve known?”

“none of us, it seems,” he replies. “you clearly enjoyed it, though.” he gives you that teasing smile you hate.

you open your mouth to reply—but then, what can you even say? deny that you enjoyed it? claim that he liked it even more? none of those are accurate, so you shut your mouth. after a moment of thought, you murmur, “I guess I did,” with a shrug.

his smile drops—he wasn’t expecting you to admit it. his arms fall to his sides as a thousand different responses race through his head. before he can decide against it, a mocking laugh escapes his mouth.

“haha! no wonder you did! I’d give you a chance if you begged for it, but I bet you’re too shy to ask for another time! what a—”

before he can finish his sentence, you step in and grab his tie, pulling him down to your level. you stare directly into his eyes. “can you do that again, pretty please?” you ask.

he breathes out slowly, taking his time. then he raises a hand to the side of your face, leaning in. you tilt your head and nod in approval. in a flash, he crashes his lips against yours, activating his quirk just in time. your bodies stick to each other yet again. he drapes an arm around your waist, holding you tightly, his other hand burying itself in your hair. you hug his shoulders, a cold hand brushing his neck, causing him to shiver.

for the first time in your life, you thank whoever blessed you with this quirk—as your bodies slot perfectly together.

you part to catch your breath, but your quirk immediately forces your faces back together. his reflexes cause him to pull your hair to keep your noses from crashing against each other. you let out a suspiciously pained noise. he leans in to kiss you again, then again.

an: Happy Halloween!!!! 🎃 This is a lil bonus i put together for flufftober since I never write enough fluff. I just picked random characters that flowed well for me for this one.

Sero-

Sero isn't really scared of horror movies, but he gets into it. He's the one who's always shouting “No, bro!! Don't go in there!!” As if the character will hear him through the TV. But as soon as he notices it scaring you, he leans a head on your shoulder.

“You gettin scared, beautiful? Wanna turn it off?” He'll ask. No judgement from Sero, he just likes lazily enjoying your company. So if you'd said yes, he would've just smiled and done it. When you insist it's not that bad, he just chuckles. “That's my brave girl. Well, c'mere and let me wrap you up tight. If anyone ever tries to mess with you, I'll swing in to save the day.” He'll say reassuringly, and you'll smile and snuggle up to him. His room is so comforting, with the scent of incense wafting through the air. You relax when he holds you, and he even covers your eyes for you at some of the really bad parts.

Kaminari-

You'd picked a slasher, one that's not super scary and more corny than anything. That didn't stop Denki from being scared, though. He'll squeal and latch onto you, whining while his arms tighten around you. You're used to him being a little bit of a big baby, though, and you love him anyway. It's endearing.

“It's so scarryy!! Be my protector!” You'll play with his hair to comfort him. But when you finally jump at one scene, he jumps into action to comfort you like the lover boy he is. Even if he's scared, he'll do his best to put on a brave face to make you comfortable.

“Don't worry, lightning bug. No one could touch you when I'm here. I'm not afraid to get zappy.” He'll say, pulling you into his chest. Even with his brave face, though, he still almost flings you off of him the next time he jumps. But it's cute that he tried.

Kirishima-

Kirishima is such a man, he's ready to actually fight the movie villain for scaring you. He doesn't like the gore, finding some of the bloodier scenes to be too much, and the screams bother him sometimes. But he doesn't really get scared, so when he sees you getting spooked he's ready to make it all better. You're already leaning into his chest, so he'll just wrap his arms around you even tighter and kiss your cheek sweetly.

“Don't be scared to squeeze me if you get scared, babygirl. You won't hurt me no matter how hard you hug me.” He says, and you squeeze him a little tighter. He'll play with your hair while you watch the movie, sharing his snacks and passing you your drink. He's such an attentive boyfriend, you don't even have to make it to saying that you're thirsty or need a snack, he's just already on it. He leaves a little light on in the hallway that night, just in case you have a bad dream.

Bakugo-

You're watching a movie, some psychological thriller that didn't even make Bakugo jump. But you, on the other hand, were hiding behind your hands. After a pretty scary jump-scare, you've screamed in surprise and hidden behind the blanket for a moment. He notices, immediately scoffing.

“You scared? What happened to my lil spitfire?” He teases, with a smirk.

You smack his arm for teasing you, and he just wraps an arm around you. He's all talk, but he's really soft underneath it all.

“It's alright, I'll save you. Don't gotta put on the brave face around me, nerd”

He holds you close for the rest of the movie, and when you nuzzle your face further into him his ears turn red, even if he hides that under all his bravado. And you don't tell him, so you don't crack his whole ‘strong guy’ act, but the next time there's a bad scare, you hear his heart beat quicken. You tighten your arms around him, not just to comfort yourself, but for him too. He kisses your head, mumbling something about “never letting ya go.”

Izuku-

Izuku really doesn't like the gore in most scary movies, and he always gets startled by the jumpscares. But most of all, this man won't stop rambling through the whole movie.

“You know, if this were real life she wouldn't be able to survive that first attack.” And then that would lead into the statistics of horror movie tropes.

But when you get scared, hiding behind your hands, he's right there to make you feel better.

“Oh, baby, did that freak you out? Here, come closer to me.” He'll say, pulling you closer. You'll trace the expansive scars on his arms, and his hands, to distract you from the scary movie. He'll pull you closer when either of you gets scared, and pepper your shoulders, neck and hair with kisses as you watch. It's really comforting to him to just kiss you or softly run his hands on your skin. He does it to relax himself so the movie doesn't get under his skin too much. When he covers your eyes for a bad scare, you chuckle and call him your hero. “I'll always be here to save you, baby.”

Toga, Ochaco-

It's movie night, so you, Toga and Ochaco are sharing favorite snacks and watching scary movies. Toga is lounging on her stomach, happily kicking her feet as the movie starts. She won't really be scared of any of the gore, she'll actually be interested in those parts because of her affinity for blood. Ochaco, on the other hand, is cringing and hiding behind her hands the whole time. “Ochacooo, are you scared?” Toga teases, poking her side. Ochaco tries to act brave, shaking her head, “No! It just startled me!” She'll insist.

“You're so cute when you're all scared.” Toga quips, jumping up to lean onto her shoulder happily. “Don't worry, I'll stabby stab anyone who bothers my favorites!” Toga says, throwing her legs over yours as she leans on Ochaco. “Thanks, Himiko. It's a little bit of a freaky movie. But it's okay.” Ochaco says as she leans her head against Toga's, too. You pass them the popcorn, and Toga tries to toss pieces into your mouth as you both watch. When you jump, getting scared of a particularly spooky scene, Toga plants herself between the both of you, just to make sure she can ground you both. She takes your hand, then ochaco, and holds them in her own, resting on her warm thighs through the entire rest of the movie.

Monoma-

Monoma will be the most self righteous ass while watching the movie, but he'll comfort you, too. You get scared and he'll laugh, “Ha ha! Told you you couldn't handle it! Don't worry, I'll protect you, my precious baby.” He'll tease, and you'll push him away by the side of the head. Not with much force, just enough to tell him to shut it. He laughs and pulls you a little closer. “Well, just don't be scared to hold my hand.” But after all that cocky talk, 5 minutes later he's jumping too, spilling all the popcorn in the process. You'll tease him back, and he'll just roll his eyes. “Whatever! Just hold me, you know, so you don't get too scared.”

When you do, he'll hold you like a precious jewel. As annoying as he is sometimes, he really cares for those close to him, so he'll do all be can to be close to you. He won't let go, not even for a second, and when you squeeze your arms around him he's kissing your cheek. “It's alright, gorgeous. Your savior is here to protect you.”

All might-

Toshinori would honestly be the best horror movie buddy. First, he'd provide so many amazing snacks just to ensure you're eating enough. And he'd have the most comfortable bed set up, just because he wants you to be able to relax fully. He wouldn't really like horror movies, but he'd enjoy how strong it makes him feel to make you feel safe again. You scream at a scary part and cover your face. He's kissing your head softly immediately. “Hey, don't be frightened. I am here!!” He'll say, comfortingly. “You know I'll always protect you, don't you?” He asks, and you take his face in your hands and kiss him sweetly. “I know, Toshi. Just…can you hold me? It makes it less scary.” You ask, and he wants nothing more than every ounce of affection, so he obliges immediately. You're wrapped in his arms, with the blanket tucked up comfortably, and he tightens his arms every time he notices you getting a little more afraid. He's even got the remote ready to shut it off IMMEDIATELY if it gets too scary, but he won't push you because he wants you to feel strong, too. “I've got you, darling. I've got you.” He'll mumble in your ear, to comfort you.

Aizawa-

Aizawa was supposed to be watching a horror movie with you, but he grew bored of their irrational decision making and he hardly stays awake long enough to finish a movie anyway. You weren't surprised, or upset. He has such a demanding life, you like to be his peace. If he's able to sleep around you, good. He deserves the rest. So, you proceed with watching the movie on your own, eating some snacks and trying not to wake him up when you get scared. But, one scare is too much and you scream loudly, kicking him in the process. “Sorry!” You say frantically as he wakes up. He looks at you immediately, sitting up. “What is it? What happened?” He asks, looking around the room for any sign of trouble. “I didn't mean to wake you, it was just the movie scaring me.” You explain, and he just pulls you close to him and rests his head in your lap. “Dont feel guilty. I'm here. I'll stay awake for you. Would you like to play with my hair? I know it comforts you.” He offers, and you smile, bringing your hands to his wavy, inky locks and playing with it. It makes you feel better, and the next time there's a scare, he's rubbing your leg gently. “Youre safe when I'm here, love.” He'll murmur, soothingly.

Keigo/Hawks-

Hawks would pretend he's a little bit afraid of the movie, just to make you feel less nervous about being scared. You're surrounded by blankets and pillows, almost like a nest. It's so comfortable, he's a pro at making comfy little snuggle piles. He sees you jump, but pretends to be spooked himself. “This movie's intense, little bird. Come a little closer.” You know he's not really scared, but he noticed that you were. You scoot in closer and he wraps an arm around you, rubbing your arm with his thumb softly. When you jump and hide your face, he helps cover your eyes. He pulls the blankets around you more, and passes you the snacks whenever you need them. He soothes you with gentle touches when you're scared, and even has your favorite stuffed animal right beside you for your comfort. “Easy, dovey. It's alright. You're safe with me.” He reassures you.

Touya/Dabi-

Touya isn't great at comforting, he's never been comforted much in his life before you, so he'll tease the shit out of you.

“Aww, c'mon, really? I don't scare you, but the idiot killer in this does?” He teases, but he pulls you closer anyway. He just doesn't make a show of it, and if you say anything he’ll push you away with a crackle of fire. But if you don't say anything, he'll let you rest your head on his shoulder.

“This guy doesn't even know how to play the long game. No plan, he just runs straight in, how boring.” He'll judge the movie, and you'll roll your eyes, but it's nice because it leaves you less scared. When you jump really badly, covering your eyes, he'll laugh in that gravelly voice of his, but he'll let you curl into his chest. He doesn't want to admit it, but you relying on him, feeling comforted by him, even protected, it does something to him. “You're all I've got that's only mine. I wouldn't let anything happen to you, so just relax."
