Enchanted Doll Eyes and LA Dolpa

The eyes will be available for purchase Dolpa weekend. Not AT the Dolpa, but you know, at the hotel congruent with Dolpa happenings. Volks didn’t offer vendor space for dealers in the US, so it’s more of an informal thing where I’ll be there with a ton of stock.

Peter has said that we may sell the ED eyes we were selling on their behalf at the Resin Rose BJD Expo at the LA Dolpa sales/swaps as well. They are new, they are gorgeous. There are whole bunch of eyes in a lot of sizes. I can post more details soon if folks are after specifics.  I’m not staying in the convention hotel, but I can be around for folks to shop in the evenings. We should organize an informal swap/sales event.

I gotta say the photos I'm seeing of LA Dolpa look really sad to me. I've been to one Dolpa in Japan and it was amazing but these pics look like some low budget community center convention, not something officially by Volks. Could they really not get a nicer venue? And it's so tiny! I guess if it's the best you can get it's fine but I feel kinda bad for anyone who travelled far to go to it.

LA Dolpa

I very nearly skipped this event! Mostly because I’ve been really low on money lately (that hasn’t changed, whoops) but with the help of some timely sales, hotel rewards points, and early birthday money, I’ll be flying out tomorrow and staying until Sunday!

I’m going to the Tea Party, and will be accompanied by this cutie:

Pirate Precious from the LA Dolpa yesterday! I'm on my way to the airport now, I can't believe the event has come and gone already! It was fun meeting the people I did, though I think there are many I missed. I was a little overwhelmed from travel lag and just not having been out and about for doll things in a while, lol!

Welp, I was going to cancel my hotel room for Dolpa and just go on the Saturday, but they want 72 hours notice. Well, shit. :/ Guess I’ll just suck it up and go, but after yesterday’s revelations, I really didn’t need to be spending the money. Sigh. Well, so it goes. xD;

I KEEP FRICKIN FORGETTING SHIT....

i talked to the president and vp of volks who were a husband and wife team to thank them for bringing the dolpa to the US...they were super sweet. i stumbled with my minimal japanese and told him i was taiwanese, and he called over a translator to express his gratitude, bc apparently taiwan donated the biggest amount of money to japan after the fukushima disaster, and he is so grateful that he tries to convey his gratitude to every taiwanese person he meets. it was soooo sweet and i felt very humbled T__T
