Miraculous Realizations #30

I have a theory on how the building Ladynoir conflict could be resolved.

And it all centers around Ladrien.

Now I’ll admit, Ladrien used to be my least favorite section of the Love Square. I never hated it or anything, I just found all the other dynamics more interesting.

But then season 4 happened and I have been shown the light.

I used to buy in to the whole “marichat represents their true selves” shit and all that, but no longer. I have now realized that Ladybug is just as much a part of Marinette as Adrien is a part of Chat Noir. Chat struggling this past season is what has opened my eyes to this.

Marichat is still my favorite section specifically for the sarcasm, but I do LOVE me some dorky Ladrien content these days.

Now, back to how Ladrien will fix Ladynoir.

By now we’ve realized that every season there is usually a Marichat-centric episode (Evillustrator, Glaciator, Weredad)

And a Ladrien-centric episode (Simon Says, The Gorilla, Desperada)

Obviously with some more sprinklings in other episodes, these are just the ones I’m using as examples.

I have a theory that after the inevitable Ladynoir blowout, there will be a Ladrien episode that will fix it.

Think about it.

No other section of the love square could. Sure, Adrien and Chat Noir could find comfort in Marinette through Marichat and Adrienette, and maybe the love square will flip, but that doesn’t fix the Ladynoir issue. He’ll never truly believe he’s valued as a member of the team unless he hears it from ladybug.

But the problem is, I don’t think it can be done through Ladynoir. Once Chat Noir learns all the stuff Ladybug has been keeping from him, he will probably loose a lot of trust in her. He might not believe her when she tells Chat she’s sorry and that she values and needs him. Chat is going to need some time away from her to recuperate.

Cue Ladrien episode.

Chat Noir will obviously be MIA, leaving Ladybug to do things on her own. And since Gabriel sucks and isn’t above putting his own son in danger, there could be an akuma that wants to get Adrien for some reason, so naturally Ladybug will go protect him.

Now, cue Ladrien moment.

I’m not exactly sure how it will go, but I hope it will be something like this…

Ladybug and Adrien are alone in Adrien’s room to hide from the Akuma and strategize.

Adrien, feigning ignorance, asks“where’s Chat Noir?” because if he was just a citizen as he’s pretending to be, he would be curious about that.

Ladybug tries to keep a neutral face, though inside she’s already breaking. She speaks hesitantly, “I’m sure he’s coming..”

And it’s almost convincing, until her face falls and and she starts crying. “Actually I’m not sure if he’s coming. I wouldn’t blame him if he didn’t come at all and it’s all my fault.”

Adrien is bewildered and for a second his façade breaks, but Ladybug’s face is too busy being buried in her hands for her to notice.

“What do you mean Chat Noir isn’t coming?”

Ladybug looks up from hands at Adrien, eyes watery.

“I’ve done something horrible. I couldn’t tell him, I couldn’t! I just…I just wanted to protect him. If something happened to him again because of me…”

Adrien is confused. “Again?”

Ladybug begins to sob harder.

“But now because I didn’t tell him he thinks I don’t want him with me. He..” She takes in a shaky breath, her voice hoarse as she speaks, “he thinks he’s not important and…”

Her face breaks once again and Adrien’s heart breaks for her along with it.

“I need him Adrien, I need him. I can’t do this by myself, I can’t do it without him.”

Adrien fiercely grabs Ladybug’s hand and she looks up at him.

“But you’re not alone! There are a ton of other superheroes that can help you, there’s Carapace, and Ryuko, and-“

“They’re not him! I need him, he’s my best friend and I… I can’t imagine… I didn’t mean to…”

Adrien looks into her eyes. They are red and her face is blotchy and Adrien hates it. He hates the fact he made her feel this way.

Almost as much as Ladybug hates herself in that moment for what she did to Chat.

She tears her eyes away from his and whispers so softly that Adrien almost can’t hear her,

“I don’t want to do this without him.”

Adrien’s heart breaks again.

He pulls Ladybug to his chest and she doesn’t resist. She just cries softly into his shoulder as he holds her.

“He’s going to come Ladybug.”

“No he isn’t.”

“Yes he is. I just know it. He won’t just up and leave you like this.”

There is a moment of silence which is quickly broken by the room shaking. The Akuma has found them.

Ladybug immediately puts herself back in gear, “Adrien you need to hide.”

“Okay, Ladybug. I trust you.”

Ladybug doesn’t know the double meaning behind his words, but he does. He knows what he has to do.

She grabs his arm and leads him to the bathroom. She’s about to close the door but before she can Adrien speaks up for the last time that evening,

“I’m here for you if you need me, Ladybug. Any time.”

Ladybug’s eyes soften and for a second she feels peace for the first time since her fight with Chat Noir.

“Thank you, Adrien. Really.”

“I mean it. Any time just come find me and I’ll be there for you.”

Ladybug smiles. Then the room shakes again and they’re both reminded of the predicament they’re in.

“Stay safe, Ladybug.”

“You too.”

The door closes and Ladybug zips out the window. She lands on the roof of the Agreste mansion and looks around for the Akuma, but it’s no where in sight. She hears footsteps behind her and feels a hand reaching for her. Before she can even turn around, she grabs the hand and throws them off the roof.

She sees a flash of black in front of her, followed by a… tail?

“Chat Noir?!”

She quickly throws her yo-yo and it wraps around him.

Then he promptly swings face first into the side of the manor.

Ladybug begins to reel Chat back onto the roof.

“Me-ouch, My Lady, that wasn’t exactly what I was going for.”

“You came?”

“Of course, I’d never leave My Lady without her kitty cat for too long.”

Ladybug could cry from happiness, but instead she throws her arms around him and hugs him harder than she ever has.

She opens her mouth to speak and apologize again but Chat Noir beats her to it.

“Listen, Little Bug, I know we have a lot to talk about but let’s beat this Akuma first, yeah?”

“Just us against the world?”

“As always.”

Fluff for Ladrien please

Fluffy Ladrien headcanons here we go!

Ladrien being blushing messes whenever they go out for ice-cream bc their respective ice-creams remind them of each-other

Too personal questions are a no-go for identity reasons but they do little quizzes together and fun fact quizzes

Ladybug learns about new movies thanks to Adrien, who's particularly fond of old black and white movies (romantic ones *cough* *cough*)

Adrien talks about his day and how he feels, he's touched whenever Ladybug asks bc not even his own father does

Ladybug appreciates seeing a different side to Adrien, especially when he occasionally puns and is being a dork

Adrien loves seeing a shy side to his normally strong tough lady, Ladybug is still responsible and duty bound, but she seems to relax just a bit more when it's just them alone

They make couple activities together like rollerblading, ice-skating, Adrien teaching her fencing moves, Ladybug teaching him acrobatics...etc.

They often gift each-other little things whenever they meet; Ladybug knit Adrien blue gloves once (that go well with the blue scarf), Adrien gifted her a shelf with multiple boxes and compartments inside bc LB complained she leaves little trinkets and things littered around her room

They make small 'anniversaries' for things they've done for the first time together (first time ice-skating, first time on a picnic..etc.)

Adrien does a little happy dance right after they part, he thinks he's being discreet but Ladybug always looks back at him whenever she leaves and giggles at how adorable he is

They sometimes get into awkward a stalemate where they stand and stare at each-other bc they both want to watch the other leave first

Adrien teaches Ladybug how to dance to jazz songs, she's a bit clumsy (like a certain classmate and friend of his) and Ladybug brings her own jazz songs on CDs with Adrien bringing his own radio so they can dance to their hearts content along the Seine

Ladrien: Reverse Crush Au

This is my first attempt at Ladrien so woot woot!! But seriously all of you will enjoy this no matter the ship.

So happy I finally got to write this

Other Reverse Crush Drabbles:   Marichat     Adrienette

Adrien’s ears were ringing as his heart thrummed in his chest. His lifted his head from the ground only to be greeted by a splitting headache. He groaned in irritation. Dust clouded much of his vision but he could make out the figures of his classmates all running, scrambling to their feet and screaming in panic. There was an explosion at the school. Adrien looked around taking into account everyone in the room. No one seemed to be injured, at least not severely from what he could tell. The explosion had something to do with an akuma no doubt which meant Adrien needed to find a way to get away and fast. He pulled himself to his feet. The classroom was utter chaos as the students tried to organize and calm down enough to keep safe and stay out of the akuma’s way. Adrien soon realized Marinette wasn’t among them. Panic start to set in as he realized that she had to be out where the akuma was. Adrien rushed to Alya’s side mouth dry.

“Alya,” He shouted mostly over the ringing in his own ears, “where’s Marinette?” Adrien did his best to keep the panic out of his voice. Alya knit her brows together looking at Adrien with dread.

“She forgot her textbook and went back to the locker room to get it. She could be anywhere right now,” Alya said anxiously voice thick. Adrien didn’t wait to respond, his feet were already carrying him out the door and in the direction of the locker rooms. Whatever this akuma could do, it was dangerous and Marinette was out there with it. All over the school kids were running around and screaming. Debris littered the floor from the first round of explosions. In the distance he could hear another deafening blast. He ran past the swarm of kids going the opposite direction as him. He had to get to Marinette before the akuma did and for the time being he didn’t have a place to transform. He only hoped he could find one before Marinette needed him.

Adrien had almost made it to the locker rooms he was rounding a corner when he was suddenly wrenched up from the floor. A small explosion burned in the place he had just been standing moments before. His body flew through a gaping hole in the ceiling and he landed on the second floor next to Ladybug.

“Ladybug?” Adrien asked surprised to see her amongst the chaos, and saving his life no less. Ladybug nodded at him before looking back down through the hole in the floor.

“You were running right into the akuma’s line of fire, you should evacuate with the rest of your class while you still can. It won’t be long before this place starts breaking down,” Ladybug explained, her voice cold and calculated.

“What’s going on? This akuma-“ Adrien began, looking for an answer. Ladybug turned to face him, face serious.

“The akuma is just a kid who lights to blow things up, anything he thinks would be fun to see go up in smoke does. Everything from croissants to schools, he’s not choosy. He’s too young he doesn’t even really know the damage he’s causing. He blows something up before running off again. I have to find him and watch out for his ticking time bombs while I do it,” Ladybug explained, all business. Adrien nodded.

“I’m looking for a friend, Marinette Dupain-Cheng, have you seen her?” Adrien asked hopefully.

“I’m sure your friend is fine Adrien, you have nothing to worry about,” Ladybug waved him off staring back down intently. Adrien followed her gaze and his heart sank.

“The locker rooms,” Adrien mumbled to himself pulse quickening.

“What about them?” Ladybug asked.

“That entrance over there leads to the locker rooms but it’s blocked off from the explosion. The only other way out is to go around,” Adrien explained voice tight. Ladybug shook her head.

“If you need to get to the locker rooms that’s not happening, you’d run right into the akuma’s path,” Ladybug explained.

“But Marinette is in the locker rooms. I have to find her,” Adrien worried.

“How do you know she didn’t already get out?” Ladybug questioned.

“Because the only other exit is blocked off meaning I would have run into her when I was running this way but I didn’t,” Adrien’s voice raised an octave as he spoke. His mind raced. If Marinette only had one way of getting out of the locker room that left her in the akuma’s playing grounds and Adrien himself had just barely escaped getting blown to bits going to save her. Without Ladybug and Chat Noir there to help her she would be a goner.

“I’ll find your friend, but your need to get out while you still can,” Ladybug snapped. Adrien shook his head.

“I’m going with you! I have to find Marinette!” Adrien said determined.

“It’s not safe-“ Ladybug began.

“You can’t stop me from looking for her. It’s either I go in with you or I go looking on my own,” Adrien cut her off. Ladybug snapped her mouth shut pressing her lips in a thin line and nodding. The way Adrien was looking at it, with so many people around he wouldn’t be able to transform so it was either he helped Ladybug as a civilian or not at all. He figured she would need all the help she could get and he also was really worried about Marinette.

“Fine but you better stay behind me!” Ladybug commanded. Adrien nodded. Ladybug slid down through the hole in the floor landing gracefully on the ground floor below. Adrien followed suit stumbling behind her. Ladybug led the way cautiously making her way down the hall and avoiding touching so much as a pebble on the floor. Adrien attempted to do the same. The two were silent as they made their way down the hall.

Adrien looked through classroom windows hoping he could find Marinette taking cover inside one of them. He had no such luck. His heart rate sped up with each empty room he looked inside. He grew more and more worried about finding Marinette and what state she might be in by the time they found her. Adrien was so focused on finding Marinette that he didn’t notice the small rock in his path. A small kick was all it took. A white hot force propelled him backwards along with the debris of the nearby wall. The force knocked him out cold.

“Adrien!” Ladybug screamed as she scrambled to her feet. The explosion had knocked her forward a few feet but she had been far enough from the force to get up with only a few minor cuts.

The akuma’s boy’s giggle caused Ladybug to snap her head in his direction and scowl. The boy quickly ran around the corner out of sight. Ladybug rushed over to Adrien’s side. Stupid boy, he’s going to get himself killed for no reason! Marinette thought to herself as she slid down next to him. There was a long gash down the boy’s forehead the was gushing blood and upon closer inspection Ladybug realized he wasn’t breathing. Ladybug’s heart drummed in her ears as she set her mouth over his and blew air into his lungs. Compressions. Air. Compressions. Air. Ladybug repeated the cycle pressing on the boy’s chest and then blowing air into his lungs. Please wake up! Please wake up! Marinette begged. She placed her mouth over his once more. As she pulled away his eyelids fluttered open and he began to groan. Ladybug sighed in relief, now out of breath. Adrien started to sit up before crying out in pain and falling back onto the ground. Adrien’s face twisted in agony as he grit his teeth together and gently held his side.

“You might have a few broken ribs. I can help you get outside, they should already have paramedics here,” Ladybug reassured him. Adrien shook his pounding head.

“No I still have to find Marinette,” Adrien said determined. With a large amount of effort and several pained groans Adrien pulled himself into a siting position. He grimaced, chest heaving as he panted, each breath causing searing pain to run through his chest. Definitely a broken rib.

“Looking for this girl is going to get you killed! Just let me look for her Adrien,” Ladybug said irritably. Adrien shook his head.

“I have to know she’s okay,” Adrien said stubbornly.

“Why? Why are you looking for her Adrien? You almost died looking. What’s so important about her?” Ladybug asked exasperatedly. She wondered just how stupid this boy could be. Adrien’s eyes glazed over as his mind wandered. A smile pulled at the corners of his lips.

“Because…. because I love her,” Adrien whispered.

“You what!?” Ladybug squeaked. A blush threatening to spread across her cheeks.

“I lover her. Marinette is… she’s one of the kindest people I know and she cares about everyone. No one notices how much she does for everyone around her and they don’t see how- how-“ Adrien paused a smirk spreading across his face. “she’s just so cool. And she’s funny too and - if anything happened to her… I would never be able to forgive myself. I have to know she’s okay,” Adrien looked up into Ladybug’s eyes with both fear and hope. Ladybug flushed a soft pink. Her mouth hanging slightly open as she stared at Adrien’s bright green eyes. All this time she had him begged as one of Chloe’s minions, a jerk she didn’t have an interest in befriending and yet here he was confessing his love for her and risking his life just to know that she was okay. Ladybug closed the distance between the two of them placing a soft warm kiss to Adrien’s lips as she lightly caressed his cheek with one hand. She still loved Chat Noir yes but maybe she could love Adrien as well… He was so much kinder than she had thought.

Adrien suddenly moved his head back away from Ladybug’s lips. His eyes widened as he looked at her with stunned surprise. She was still close enough that their noses were still touching. She looked up into his green eyes once more, they seemed to remind her of somebody she knew. Ladybug let her hand drop from Adrien’s cheek. She stood, stepping back from Adrien. She cleared her throat and looked back towards direction the akuma had taken.

“I’ll find her Adrien. I promise. Marinette will be okay. Leave this to the heroes and go get yourself some help okay?” Ladybug said tone serious. With those final words Ladybug ran down the hall leaving Adrien alone. Adrien sighed shaking his head. Adrien had always thought Ladybug had a thing from Chat Noir but never did he think Ladybug would have a thing for his model persona. That’s just great, Adrien thought bitterly, I can get any girl in Paris, including Ladybug, like me except for Marinette! Adrien swallowed hard decided to instead focus on finishing the akuma rather than moping about his pathetic love life.

“Plagg!” Adrien called on his kwami.

“This is so not going to end well,” Plagg said snidely.

“Just shut up and transform me already,” Adrien complained. This was going to be one painful akuma battle, but it would all be worth it if he could keep Marinette safe.

Adrien starts showing up at the most ridiculous, dangerous locations he knows Ladybug frequents while doing solo patrols (bc he misses her & she's more ready to carry Adrien in her arms than Chat Noir).

On rooftops, on top of the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre...etc. Of course, it's a cat's meow for Chat Noir to come up there, but Ladybug is convinced that Adrien Agreste climbed up the Eiffel Tower and almost died and- why does he look so cute swinging his feet in the air 900ft from the ground?

G’Morning Lovebug

oh look, day 2 of the lovesquare fluff week is finally here! It’s been sitting almost completely done in my notes for ages but I finally had the time to write the last few sentences. So here it is!

Ladybug awoke to the sound of an alarm that definitely wasn’t hers. She groaned and made to switch it off, but an arm tightening around her waist prevented her from moving. It took her a second to realise it was Adrien, and then another second to start breathing again. Oh. That’s right. She had been checking up on Adrien after another late night akuma had targeted him and they had somehow ended up falling asleep together. She vaguely remembered thinking that she really should get home since it was late, but clearly, she had not acted on that thought, since she was still there, cuddled up to a sleepy Adrien Agreste. She had no idea how they had gone from sitting on his bed to being snuggled up under the blankets, but she certainly wasn’t complaining.

The alarm had mysteriously turned itself off by then, she noticed, and she closed her eyes again, ready to drift back to sleep. Adrien sighed and shifted, tracing lazy circles on her side with his thumb, before moving his hand up to run through her hair, which had somehow come undone during the night. “G’morning.” He mumbled to the top of her head.

Ladybug tilted her head to look up at him. “Good morning.” She yawned.

It was silent for a long moment, save for their quiet breathing. She was just about to fall asleep again when she felt him press a gentle kiss to her forehead. Her breath caught in her throat and her eyes snapped open again. “We should probably get up.” Adrien murmured, seemingly unaware that he had just about caused her heart to beat right out of her chest.

He tenderly brushed her hair away from her face and she nodded with a breathless giggle, not trusting her voice quite yet. Just-woken-up Adrien was very cuddly, it seemed.

It wasn’t like they’d never touched before. She had been hanging out with him more and more often as Ladybug and the two of them had gotten pretty comfortable with each other, to the point where casual touches weren’t uncommon between them. But they had never actually kissed before. And even though it had been just the briefest of kisses, which he might have done without even meaning to, it still caused her cheeks to warm and her heart to speed up.

“We really should.” She agreed.

Neither of them made any move to get up. Instead, Adrien gave her a soft, sleepy smile and brushed his lips against her forehead again. “Ladybug?” He whispered.

“Mm?”

“I love you.”

It took a second for his words to sink into her sleep-dazed brain, and then she was suddenly wide awake. He seemed to realise what he said at the same moment she did. He jumped back and dropped his hand away from her face. “S- sorry!” He gasped.

“No, it’s fine!” She went to scramble off the bed, forgetting about the blankets surrounding them. They tangled around her legs and she tumbled to the ground with a yelp.

“Ladybug!” Adrien launched himself over to where she was and peeked over the edge of the bed, his concerned gaze meeting hers. “Are you alright?”

Ladybug nodded, pushing the blankets away and moving to sit up so she was level with his face. “You... you love me?” She breathed and his cheeks flushed, but he didn’t look away.

“Yes.”

She stared at him for a moment, her own cheeks growing warm under her mask. Then she leaned forwards just enough to close the short distance between them and press their lips together. At his soft surprised noise, she pulled away. “Sorry.” She whispered.

Adrien slid off the bed to join her on the floor. A smile lit up his face and he reached out to take her hand. His other hand traced along the edges of her mask. “Don’t be sorry.” He said.

He was just leaning in to kiss her again when a knock sounded at the door and Nathalie’s voice sounded in his room, reminding him that he was going to be late if he didn’t get moving soon. The two sprang apart and jumped to their feet. “I should go.” She paused, then reached up to press a swift kiss to his cheek. “I love you too.” She whispered before pulling away with a little unbelieving giggle. “I’ll see you later?”

Adrien nodded eagerly, an uncontrollable grin pulling at his lips. “I look forward to it.”
