Hello! I know I said I'd post a doodle dump or my current project, but... yeah, this isn't either of those things 😅 It is something I've been meaning to post for a while, though!
I made this last summer, during vacation. It's a crossover between Cookie Run: Kingdom and Broccoli Soup, an amazing comic by @somesecretpie! (you should totally check it out if you haven't!)
I think Pure Vanilla would get along really well with Lady Doris, like, they're both really chill. (well, most of the time...) I do feel like it might turn into PV giving Lady Doris therapy, but who knows.
It was really fun to make, especially because I got the chance to play around with my sister's Prismacolor colored pencils!
Also, I have no idea why I chose to draw Pure Vanilla in that outfit. I think it looked better in concept, but the colors I had weren't quite right. They turned out too flesh-y.
Anyways, enjoy the art!
Close ups:
I do have more art of Lady Doris and Pure Vanilla, and I might also make more, because I just love both of them. I'll probably post the other thingy I did of them, later.
See you guys!
I really like Broccoli Soup, a web comic made by @somesecretpie. That is all :)
Two new episodes of Broccoli Soup: They’re pretty big ones. Check em out to see Broccoli attempt to get closer to Lady Doris after circumventing her omniscience in the previous episodes

remembered i have free will again. long hopefully coherent post about broccoli and doris lets goooo
first of all they make me ill your honor
second of all, I think they're becoming more and more estranged/separated from each other. Which is tragically fascinating. In the beginning, Broccoli kind of went along with what Doris did/said, didn't really question the morals they were learning. As the comic progresses, though, they question more. There's even an entire chapter dedicated to Broccoli discussing apologetics of politeness and goodness.
I think another part of that separation is frustration. Doris doesn't really engage with Broccoli's apologetics, or give them clear answers at all. She says politeness and goodness to be self-evident and might expect Broccoli to not think about it too hard. Broccoli grows increasingly frustrated with Doris, how she sees the world (her creations are not real) and how she sees them (they are not real).
I also think their change in outfit is also symbolic of this separation. They go from the white gown to their colorful cloak, which visually separates them from Doris. I think Broccoli's questioning/frustration is also them trying to come into their own as their own person. also reminiscent of growing up and questioning your parents/faith.
Also, the tragic part comes from how they both seem to care about each other. Broccoli wants to be Doris’s friend, wants to know her, wants Doris to know them, but I am not sure if Broccoli will achieve those goals. With how things are going/with how Doris refuses to change, I think that will end up hurting Broccoli. Doris says she loves Broccoli, that they're her favorite creature, but she doesn't see them as a person/real. I don't know if it's possible for her to truly love someone she doesn't see as real/on the same level of existence as her.
tragic parent and child/creator and creation duo my beloved
