Yessssssss!!!!! LAUDINE MY BELOVED.
First off, she is a very hard-shelled person. Very brittle. To me, she's like frosty and with good reason! She does, however, react superbly well under pressure and doesn't suffer fools. After she and Owain marry, and Gwalchmai comes in search of him, she's less angry at the fact he left her and more at the fact that he broke the promise he made to her to be gone for three months or so. She knows that Luned and Owain are besties, so she sends Luned to give Owain her marriage ring back as a twist the knife in type dealio.
Is the one to name Owain's lion Llew (lion in Welsh.) Owain had wanted to name the lion Lleuad which is moon (and is his idea of a joke because llew and lleu sound similarish) in Welsh but Laudine took one look at the lion and was like 'Llew!' So it stuck.
She hates the sound of a crwth because it can be like a rusty violin. She gets splitting headaches from it. Her younger half-sister used to intentionally play the crwth to give Laudine headaches so she will smash them. One time Arthur tries to take up learning the crwth during a cylch (circuit) of Laudine and Owain's lands and Laudine just fuckin smashes it in front of him.
Loves using a sling!!! Has superbly accurate aim.
Knows about Owain and Geraint having a relationship but won't let on that she knows. Hysterically, Luned knows but not by choice - Geraint - who is her younger brother - keeps fuckin telling her.
Laudine's mam and dad impressed on her the need to guard the fountain from a young age. She's part tylwyth teg (gets it from her mam, Tegwen) so she's got some magic kicking around. She's not afraid to use her magic in defending the fountain or her lands.
She's a bit older than Luned (early 40's to Luned's 20's) and fostered her after Luned's aunt, Tywanwedd, asked her to.
She fuckin loves dogs. Has a whole coterie of them.
Her estates are in Rheged, not in Wales! Where modern-day Strathclyde is, pretty much. Owain when he goes on the quest knows vaguely where they're situated because he circuited there with his dad as a youth. Did he accidentally flirt with Laudine at the time and incur the wrath of her husband? 'Look, tbf, it was a huge misunderstanding and he was 18- Oh, shit Owain, wait why is the Arglywydd of Ystrad Clud coming at you with a sword, baying for your blood?' - Morfudd, probably
