“She is most cherished here. I am not the emotion guardian so I cannot say for the reaction for sure. Emotions typically are not logical. I do know for certain Brooke would not be here should that have happened…”
*chuckles* “A good question with a rather obvious answer. They’re dead. Everyone here chose to hold onto live anyways and in doing so have all become ghost types. Thier bodies are long gone, thier spirits are all that remain.“
But wait, why not turn into like, haunter or gather into a spiritomb like me? Like pokemon normally do?
“Quiet simply because of the lakes. I was the first to let go, the first to return. It was simply logical as there was no fix within my sight and no point putting off the inevitable… and with my spirit my lake’s energy at least was restored and many used that to hold on as themselves and make the change. Others followed suit as their Guardians also passed on and returned…”
"..It is incredible, what has happened here. The display of fortitude from you all... there is a strength here I don't think I have ever seen before, and am unsure if I will again. Thank you for allowing me to see you, Uxie- it has been a true honor to meet you and yours."
Lake Trio: world building and plot bunnies for post-canon interactions with neighbors
Consider the following:
After Team Galactic, the Lake Trio basically cease to be beings of purely myth and legend (that is, in the sense of 'supposedly there exists a pokémon whom...'), and have been proven to actually exist (admittedly, this doesn't mean that the stories about them are proven to be true, but we can assume that the region will assume so). So what happens with the masquerade broken? Situations vary between them, but there's fanfic potential for exploring the relationships they may each have with their neighbors after no longer being totally hidden. Speculation on each of their respective situations follows.
1. VERITY LAKEFRONT: Mesprit is mostly out of the way and near the small town of Twinleaf. Only reason for having large numbers of visitors would be in reaction to the breaking of said masquerade. The exact location of the lake isn't common knowledge, which keeps most outsiders out. And for those who want to visit, sudden explosions in traffic/visitors through/to a small town isn't mentally healthy for a small town (especially the home of its new favorite person), so there's the obvious route of 'psychically influence the emotions of any unwanted visiting outsiders to keep them away.' Thus, not much changes here. There's definitely fanfic potential in the idea that Mesprit occasionally pops in to visit Dawn, allowing for shenanigans.
2. ACUITY LAKEFRONT: Uxie's lake is also relatively out of the way. Sudden influxes of visitors acting as nuisances can be handled by standard memory manipulation (forgetting that the lake/Uxie exists/why you came). Though there's probably a potential (horror?) one-shot(s) here wherein locals are asked about the lake/Uxie, and can answer questions around the topic, but can't definitively remember specifics (or give contradictory answers, or give "if I remember correctly" answers which they can't remember where they learned the info). There's also a low key "potentially all-knowing being occasionally appears at the back of local lecture halls and smiles ominously at the speaker".
Azelf has much more potential for post-canon worldbuilding stories:
3. VALOR LAKEFRONT: Azelf is situated near a major thoroughfare. Large numbers of visitors/neighbors isn't optional. This means that there's an awkward equilibrium where Azelf and the popular and built up tourist site (and those travelling through) are now stuck with each other. The latter was originally built up without the people knowing the former was there. Azelf was secluding itself (and if it was paying attention to this construction, may have accepted it under the logic of 'they were determined to do that, and it doesn't affect me in any way, so what's the problem?'). Which means that both parties have to adapt to the presence of the other.
An appealing resolution is that the human management/government of the Lakefront runs with it. "Yes, we ARE on the doorstep of the Being of Willpower. This is official Willpower Center." They build up attractions that Azelf will also approve of/enjoy, without ('spinelessly') asking for permission. That means rollercoasters, and dojos to fight/meditate at, and various other things. Azelf in turn approves of any and all chutzpah, supports having a place where 'everyone here should be as determined as possible', and occasionally can be found in the attractions. From here, there are various avenues for "willful/determined OC decides to do A Thing and is helped along by local enabler" and "Azelf has a fun idea/someone gives Azelf a fun idea - everyone has to deal with the nonsense" stories.
(Maybe Azelf decides it's mandatory Zen Headbutt ("The user focuses its willpower to its head and attacks the target.") move tutoring day. Maybe someone introduces Azelf to the Hoenn Tourism Board advertisement song "Unbeatable", causing it to be blasted (either telepathically or via the DJs(?) controlling the resort's background speakers being coerced) at all hours on repeat until the Pokemon gets bored. Some kid decides to challenge Cynthia here - Azelf helps. Ect)
"Alright... uh, is it recording?" A feminine voice started in Galarian, sounding unsure.
The brown backround, that looked to be a cave wall, moved down and up, as though the phone itself was nodding.
"Okay, okay good." The unseen person let out a shaky breath, "Focus the camera on me and stay out of whatever happens, alright? Thanks for this Rotom, you're gonna get spoiled rotten after this."
A buzzing noise sounds, likely from the phone itself, as the Rotom responds and turns the phone around, allowing the camera to see Remy. Their hair is pulled back into a ponyta tail and there's a red cotton scarf covering their nose and mouth. They have on a thick and fluffy black jacket, and when their hand comes up to pull down the scarf, it can be seen that they're wearing faux-leather black gloves. They smile awkwardly and wave at the camera.
"So, uh... Hi! I'm about to head inside Uxie's cave right now - at least I think it's Uxie... Uxie's the one in the cave on Lake Acuity, right?" They grimace, "Well, I'm about to find out." They press their lips together and look off to the side, "So, uh, if you don't know why I'm doing this, just check out the posts on my rotomblr blog, I'll have this video posted on there too. But, long story short, I'm about to go through all the lake spirits and get their blessing or whatever to enter the Distortion World at my own will, more or less. Mostly cause I wanna have some tea with Giratina, since they seem pretty lonely."
They do another awkward smile and shrug, clearly unused to being on camera. "My, uh, my Rotom-phone will be recording the whole ordeal, and rest-assured, he's gonna stay far outta the way. I just wanna make sure that, y'know, if I die or something happens, I have record of what happened, heh." They begin biting their lower lip, anxious. "Well, uh... In we go, I guess."
They turn around, now facing away from the camera, and begin to walk into the tunnel. Smoothly, the camera follows and stays close to the ceiling of the cave. Remy lays their backpack - which is mostly black with some purple accents - against a wall and takes off their scarf, gloves, and coat, laying all three items haphazardly on top of the bag. From the back, they can be seen wearing a maroon colored flannel, and there's a quick glance of their shirt as they turn around, which is plain black.
They make it to an opening in the cave, where old, deteriorated, dirty pillars seem to be holding the rock walls up, and puddles of water were littered across the floor. The most notable thing in the room, however, was a Zoroark. White and red and hunched over, like their own Zoroark with a palette change, with red eyes and a towering figure.
"Oh that's what Mesprit meant-" The audio barely picked up Remy's words, but they were quickly cut off by the roar that came from the Alpha Hisuian Zoroark. "Oh shit-" Remy cursed and dove out of the way as the Guardian Pokemon rushed towards them with a swipe of its claws. "Okay, yeah, right, there's a fight- forgot about tha-aaaaaaat!" They dodged again and the camera caught a look at their face, which was very panicked.
"Ah, shit, what did Violet say?" They murmured to themself as they kept dodging. "Ghost/Normal type, weak only to dark." They let out a deep breath as they grabbed a luxury ball off of their belt, the top of which was painted blue and red. "Riptide, I need you to use Night Slash immediately!" They pressed a button and the telltale red energy of a Pokemon being released exited the ball, and as soon as the Hisuian Form of Samurott formed, he used the move his trainer instructed him to.
Remy was able to stop moving as the move hit the Baneful Fox Pokemon, and the screen showed them holding their right side with their left hand. The dark-type move had clearly done a good chunk of damage to the Guardian Pokemon, and Remy grinned as a fire formed in their eyes, "Don't give it a chance to recover! Hit it with Night Slash again and again til it's out for the count!" They were breathing heavily despite their grin, out of shape from all of the walking thet had done in the past two days. They took their flannel off and tied it tightly around their waist, covering the spot they had been holding before and revealing the light shine of crimson red blood on their hand.
It was only two more uses of the move that took down the Zoroark, and it laid on the ground, unconcious. Remy took in another shaky breath as Riptide walked back over to them, gently nudging their bloodied hand. "I'm fine, Rip. A quick potion and a bandage should do me just as well as if I were a Pokemon." They used their clean hand to rub the Samurott's head, and the footage began to glitch out, the video turning black, though the audio remained fully intact.
A voice projected by psychic means echoed through the cavern. "So you wish to access the Distortion World. You do realize that you need only prove your worth to one of us, and we shall grant you passage?"
Despite the clear presence of the Mythical Pokemon Uxie, a tired sigh was heard, "I've already explained this to Mesprit and Giratina. I want to be able to enter and leave as I wish, without sole reliance on beings that live across the Earth from my 'permanent residence'." The air-quotations could be heard. "And, well, Giri said I'd need all three of you to be able to do that."
"I see." the Being of Knowledge responded. "Very well then. Combee. Zubat. Unown. Magneton. Dusclops. How many are their eyes?"
"Oh, uh-" Remy stuttered, not expecting such a quick list. "Um, Combee has six, a pair for each honeycomb. Zubat has none - they use echolocation to get around. Unown... um... those... those I think only have one. Magneton is... the second evolution, so that one has three - one for each body. And Dusclops has one, like Unown." Despite their anxiety, they were able to answer the question that, unbeknownst to them, had been asked and answered centuries earlier.
"Correct."
There was a moment of silence - glitched silence. The audio has been cut out too, for a moment.
The audio and video only return as Remy is exiting the cave, minutes later, now with their coat, gloves, and scarf back on, and their hair has been taken down.
"So, well, I guess that's one down, two to go!" Remy half-heartedly cheered, pumping their fist in the air with the same energy before the winced and grabbed their side, "Ow..."
"I'm gonna have Vex fly me back over to Snowpoint City and... and then I'm gonna find a place to stay the night. With a heater, preferably. I've also gotta get this scratch bandaged up, so... I'm still gonna be posting as I travel, but, the videos are gonna be saved for the events with the Lake Spirits. Until next time, I guess!" They waved with their right hand as the video ended, but there was another second of audio, "Hey Rotom? Can you just upload it directly to my Rotomblr? I really don't wanna watch it through myself."
Most people know Ingo is in Legends but I have a theory about him that I haven’t seen anyone else pose yet so! Be warned!! Some Major Spoilers under the cut but they’re relevant!
So we should know who Ingo actually is right? If you don’t, he’s from Black/White/B2W2 as one of the Subway bosses, his twin brother being Emmet.
Somehow this poor man gets sent to the past and has almost no memory of his previous life except for his name and foggy memories. He looks like he’s been there for a while now, enough that his clothes are in tatters and he became trustworthy enough in the Pearl Clan to become Sneaslers Warden!
Now, most people pose 2 theories as to how he ended up in Hisui
1. Arceus Yeeted him into the past for unspecified reasons
2. Popular theory, an ultra worm hole sent him to the past and he became a faller, losing his memory in the process
First one doesn’t make a whole lot of sense, why would he need to be in the past, him specifically when he seems to have no clear relevance to the plot prior to him arriving. And what would be the purpose of losing his memories? We as the Main Character do have dialogue options to suggest that we either remember everything from before arriving in Hisui to also having memory issues, but for the most part we play as if we retain out memories. Why would Arceus send him without his?
Second Theory is plausible, it’s happened to others before and he probably wouldn’t be the last, but why would an ultra wormhole send him backwards when it seems as though they mostly send folks into alternate timelines or into times closer to their present day? And Ingo has lived in Hisui for a bit, and for Laventon to be there with Rowlet, he’s been to Alola before Hisui, even stating so himself. However, no mention of wormholes has been brought up, not even ultrabeasts as passing myth or legends. This theory holds merit but it leaves some more questions too.
So I propose a theory I had come up with when I was dead asleep!
What if, in Volo’s attempts to reach Arceus and having his first contact with Giratina, obtaining the spooky plate, their first meeting caused an unintentional rift in space time, just for a moment, and Ingo was an unfortunate consequence falling through on accident? He falls to Hisui in the Alabaster Icefields, but at this point he may have all his memories? He’s probably wandering around not sure of anything, but he ends up meeting Uxie? Uxie, MAYBE, for some reason, deemed it necessary to wipe Ingo’s memories, and afterwards, he REALLY has no idea what happened and how he arrived, but shortly after, the Pearl Clan finds him, and the story we know about him picks up from there.
This is based on the facts that Volo has had the spooky plate and met Giratina before some time ago, predating our arrival to Hisui. He and Ingo have spoken before too, based on the context of their conversation ingame heading towards Lord Electrode. Probably during Volo’s many visits to the clans to gain knowledge of the remaining plates in the world, he noticed a very out of place man and eventually surmised that his contact with GIratina again would open another rift to meet arceus, somehow. Not to mention, the rift in space-time that we see Ingame only appeared when we did, a brief moment wouldn’t impact folks too noticeably except the fact we have a random amnesiac man now before we come along.
As for the memory issue, Ingo was initially found by the Pearl Clan, close enough to where there settlement is to bring him back, what's just a bit north of their home? Uxies Lake, Lake Acuity. Uxie is known to wipe the memory of those who see it’s eyes, its the most prominent fact within almost every pokedex entry ingame ever. Why and how did Ingo see Uxie’s eyes? Not too sure about that, but it is plausible he did, he doesn't remember how he ended up in Hisui at all, not a single inkling to it. He doesn’t even trust his own accounts either when its brought up in conversation, so he could have easily fallen through a brief gap in space-time!
As a side note for the Ultra worm hole theory, the fallers that we know of seem to have no returning memories from where they came from, only their names, if that at all, while Ingo forgets everything but his name too, he’s actually regaining his memories slowly but surely, this is different compared to fallers! And its unknown if Uxie’s memory wipes are permanent either, maybe its a way of a defense mechanism and a deterrent of any threats to it, whether they intent to cause harm or not.
So TLDR: Volos to blame for Ingos appearance in Hisui trying to reach Arceus, Ingo is thrown to to past, meets Uxie, Uxie wipes his memories and he is found by the Pearl Clan, its all Volos fault, everything's his fault because he has a meeting god complex XD
