5.Does your OC ever read (or watch) romances? How much has their attitude and approach to relationships been affected by their exposure to romantic literature or other art?

She does because her friends tell her it is soooo gooood. They make her more confused than anything. She is however a strong beliver of communication in a relationship, so she shows the romantic pieces to Kormakur and asks if he would like her to do things like that. Sometimes he does, but mostly he likes her the way she is.

6.To what extent does your OC need to feel like an equal in a relationship? Would they be content – or even aroused – by a power imbalance in terms of wealth, intellect or beauty?

Good question, as his material and social status changed drastically recently. When he was a dirt poor thief he at least liked to pretend he and his partners were on equal terms, or at least on assured mutual destruction terms. Now, when he is rich, it might actually be harder to find someone matching. The situation got really complicated.

I don’t know why because there is absolutely no lore in any of the games to support this (in fact quite the opposite), but somewhere along the line I decided that mages in Dragon Age all have different coloured flames, they can’t choose or control or change it, it just is. And I’d already subconsciously assigned most of the characters their colour.

Amaranthe Amell - lapis blue with a heart of iridescent pearl (because she’s God’s favourite princess)

Neria Surana – bright sunny butter yellow

Morrigan – deep gold with a dark amethyst halo

Jowan – pale silver-green marshlight

Anders – umber with a heart of crimson

Wynne – powder-blue, translucent like glass

Connor – jade green

Lanaya – pale daffodil yellow with a grass-green halo

Velanna – sullen orange like glowing embers

Finn – pretty normal looking, but gets a glint of emerald at the centre if he’s super excited about something

Hawke – blood red. Just blood red

Bethany – soft violet

Merrill – scarlet fading into coral

Dorian – rich magenta with royal purple flashes

Vivienne – pastel lavender

Solas – smoke grey with a blinding white halo, hurts the eyes

I have no idea why I did this but it’s my inescapable headcanon now. Feel free to comment if you have a different vision, or a character I didn’t mention, or your own Warden/Hawke/Inquisitor/OC!

She was supposed to stay with the Clan while the shems fought the blight. Lanaya had just become Keeper and really should be protecting her people.

But she had to know. Surana was a dashing elven warrior, taking up a style of magical combat long forgotten by the Elvhen. He was knowledgeable, charming, and showed unprecedented kindness to the Clan. Especially for a city elf.

He promised after the Blight was finished, he would visit. That then, there could be talk of an 'us.' She sent her Clan to fight alongside him, but waiting for them to return was too much. So she snuck into the ranks and fought alongside her archers.

As they battled the archdemon atop Fort Drakon, Surana bounced in and out of her sight as he steadfastly attacked the blighted dragon, doing everything in his power to kill the beast. Sometimes he was atop the creature's back, digging blades deep into its hide. Others, he was back among his peers, quickly healing those who needed it. One time, he was quite close to her side, fighting alongside her without realising her presence.

Surana lived, and things were fine. Until she lost sight of him. Until she watched him sink his sword deep into the creature's neck and he glowed with bright light. It suffused his person, breaking free as both he and the archdemon shrieked out.

In that moment, she needed to be at his side. "Please be okay, please be okay, please be okay," she chanted as she hurried to the fallen beast. On its back, hand loosely gripped on the blade was Surana.

The last words that left his mouth were an apology. "I'm sorry I won't get to love you," he wheezed, before his body went slack, crashing down to the stones of the tower. All that was left for her to do was weep.
