He sighed as Lan Wangji continued to kiss him, seeming desperate to have his lips touching some part of Jin Guangyao’s body. It distantly reminded him of a dog that was excited to see its owner when they returned home. If it wasn’t Lan Wangji doing it, Jin Guangyao would have called it pathetic. This kind of desperation - the need to pleasure another - was not something that Jin Guangyao suffered from. He learned from a young age to prioritize himself. Oh, if he took a lover, he would make sure they were pleasured, but it was only important in the fact that the other would have nothing negative to say. He was nothing like Lan Wangji who, dare Jin Guangyao say, begged to be able to do this. He had agreed with the terms that Jin Guangyao would be seated, would control how far everything went, and for every article of clothes Jin Guangyao lost, Lan Wangji would lose the same.
And now, he was seated, legs crossed, as Lan Wangji kissed everything from the skin he had bared to where he had clothes on. Jin Guangyao watched dispassionately as the need to do this consumed the other and repressed smirks when Lan Wangji looked up at him, nearly pleading for some reaction. Who knew that bringing a great man to his knees and practically begging could happen with practically no effort on Jin Guangyao’s part? There was a slight heady feeling to this situation, and if he let himself indulge, Jin Guangyao was sure he could become intoxicated.
“That’s not what we agreed to,” he said, pulling Lan Wangji’s head back after threading his fingers into the other hair and tightening the grip to where it could be considered painful. The other had tried to do something more than a kiss, and Jin Guangyao didn’t care to find out if it was to bite or to suck a mark. “I expected a Lan to know how to follow the rules.”

Huaisang has been sent to Cloud Recesses to study. As usual, he didn't do particularly well. His aptitude for cultivation truly had been chewed on by a dog while he was still in the womb. Or so he thought.
He isn't sure what caused it, but it started with him feeling something pooling inside him during one of the meditation exercises. It was brief and he brushed it away as him imagining something. When it kept happening, he asked about it and it was thought that maybe he was finally developing a golden core, but nothing could be detected.
So when he started noticing other things, Huaisang kept quiet. Because even he knew that intuitively understanding animals and making plants grow was not standard cultivation practices. He probably should tell someone though. What if it's dangerous? The thing is, it feels right. Feels natural.
Whatever it is, he wants to use it, but to do so, he needs practice and he can't do that among others.
Huaisang seeks out an area as far away from the main buildings as he can, without actually leaving Cloud Recesses, and there he trains. Trains with wild animals as his company, since they flock to him, seemingly lacking fear of getting close to a human.
The teen has just made small pink flower grow all around him and he smiles at them. "I did it! Did you see?" he says to the deer by his side, a deer that suddenly seems startled and Huaisang looks the way its gaze travel, locking eyes with a Lan.
Quickly, he's up on his feet. How much had the other seen? "Lan-er-gongzi," he greets, bowing, trying to think of something to say, completely unaware that not only the flowers in a perfect ring around him is odd, but that his eyes are green like spring leaves and almost luminescent.
Based on the lock he's receiving, Lan Wangji saw everything. "Please, don't tell anyone."

Kexin released a sigh of relief as they settled down after their successful night hunt. Truthfully she would have been perfectly content to relax and watch the fireflies and stargaze. But it was very easy to get swept up into revelry when everyone was so lively and happy. As such, when the members of their party continued to offer the alcohol, she did accept it. However, when they offered Wangji the alcohol she rather felt the need to step in. She took the cup offered to him gently from the other's hand.
"Ah the Lan precepts don't-"
But before she could finish her sentence, the cup was taken from her hand by Wangji himself. She blinked in surprise when he downed the entire thing before the rest of the party erupted into cheers. Well, if he wanted to partake outside of the Cloud Recesses' walls, she certainly wouldn't try to stop him. That didn't ease her concern when he slumped over within seconds, however. But then her cup was filled again and truthfully, after the first two cups, she had a tendency to not really be able to refuse more.
At some point she must have been coaxed by the others to venture off a bit. Had it been to make sure everyone was gathered and ready to go? She couldn't recall. She did recall that Wangji had yet to return from their previous resting area, though. Just as she had made up her mind that she might have to go wake him up and drag him along, he found her and grabbed her wrist. "Huh? Is something wrong?" were the only thoughts she managed to speak aloud before they were apparently on the move.
Kexin shrugged her shoulders at the inquiries called after them. Really she was wondering the same things they were. She was surprised at how heedlessly he trekked through the forest. She had never seen Wangji like this before. He never touched anyone and always tried to keep as meticulous and clean as possible. So this was how he reacted to alcohol? And just one cup? No doubt due to the precepts forbidding it in the Cloud Recesses. The thoughts and her lack of a filter from the wine made her genuinely giggle aloud at the situation. "Wanji-xiong, where are we going? Everyone's the other way and we're meant to be back soon," she said, and giggled again. Her reaction to alcohol tends to show itself through the means of either giggly, clingy, or melancholy depending on her mood before the drink. It seemed this time, it was giggly.
By that point, they had exited the woods and come to a hill overlooking a river. The view was breathtaking and she was truly mesmerized by it. At least until her gaze shifted to Wangji. She tilted her head curiously at his gaze, blinking when his grip changed. She was even more shocked at his request.
"Jump?!" she reiterated. She glanced over the edge a bit as he moved forward, easily stepping forward when he tugged on her again. There was definitely a voice in her mind telling her that this was reckless and stupid and what was she thinking that sounded suspiciously like Dà-gē, but it sounded very far away. It would probably cause an adrenaline rush. And it was so rare to have no inhibitions for her. "You really want to jump in there?!" she questioned again, perhaps trying to convince herself not to do it. But- "Only if you promise not to let me drown. That would be such an embarrassing way to go."

For a creature of fire, Wei Wuxian quite enjoyed the feeling of warm lake water on his skin.
Bathing in it brought a strange sense of peace, calming any burning inferno within him. He had to assume it was due to the opposing elements that he found any joy in it - either that, or he had truly been driven mad as some people joked he did. But he couldn’t help it! He loved the water, eagerly awaiting every rainstorm to fly off into and seeking every river to take a quick dip in. It was a balm to his body and feathers, and he’d continue whether it hurt him or not.
Not that he knew if it did hurt him, but then again, it wasn’t like there was anyone around to tell him these things. Wei Wuxian had been orphaned long ago and lucky enough to be found and taken in by an old friend of his father’s. He picked up that his nature as a Vermilion Bird had to be from his mother’s side at least, but neither her or any others like her were here to tell or show him the ways of their kind. Hell, Wei Wuxian had to learn how to fly on his own - an embarrassing ordeal that resulted in more broken bones than he’d ever care to admit - so how was he to know if swimming was bad for him?
Slowly, he blew bubbles on the surface of the lake water from where he was floating. Nothing bad had happened yet - that was good enough reason for him to keep doing as he wished.
❝ Hey,❞ called a voice. Wei Wuxian sat up, looking to face the beautiful scowl of his shidi. He grinned in greeting, but Jiang Cheng only rolled his eyes. ❝ What are you doing?❞
❝ Relaxing,❞ Wei Wuxian replied, laying back in the water. ❝ It’s such a hot day! And we have time before we’re leaving, so why are you upset?❞
Jiang Cheng made his ‘I’m not upset’ face and sat down on the edge of the pier, daring to dip his feet in the water. Wei Wuxian swam closer, but was kind enough not to drag the other into the water as well. ❝ Nothing. We’ll have to get moving soon.❞
Wei Wuxian studied the look on his face, already sure of what he was seeing there. Another argument dished out right in front of him, likely about him - them. As much as he tried or wished to stop it, there was nothing he could truly do to put an end to the fights that Jiang Fengmian and Madam Yu got into. He stood up out of the water, quickly drying himself off with a quick burst of flame as he sat next to Jiang Cheng on the pier, and slung his arm around his shidi.
❝ Aiyah, so serious. It’s only a simple hunt, there’s no need to be nervous.❞
❝ I’m not nervous!❞ Jiang Cheng shouted, glaring at him. Wei Wuxian laughed bodily, throwing his head back in amusement and successfully starting a scuffle that only ended with the two of them back in the water.
It was only a simple hunt. They’d be traveling far further north than they ever had before, enough for Wei Wuxian to feel strangely out of place and on edge once they finally arrived at the small village, but what they were dealing with was nothing out of the ordinary. Even in the modern world, there were countless ghosts and creatures needing to be dealt with to ensure the safety of everyday people. Wei Wuxian boldly led the way through the streets with a forced bravado, trying to ignore the strange feeling itching the back of his neck. If there were any eyes on him, it had to be from the village people looking at the newcomers and nothing more.
This hunt was simply one of the same.

The words come as a surprise, they stun Jin Ling into a silence that's uncomfortable and unfamiliar. He wets his lips, pulling his gaze up towards Lan Wangji. To the man who had pulled him from his grandfather's clutches - albeit unwillingly- who had confessed that he too had a son. Once.
❝ He was probably better.❞ He doesn't say it to be kind, he says it like it's a truth that they both already should know. He has spent years, being the best grandchild he could be, the perfect heir, the golden son that would pull the Jin up and away from the ashes and the unsteady ground they stood upon after the death of his father and mother. It's all he knows, greed and violence, some of which he's inflicted himself. Hiss hands will never be clean, he's hurt for money, for vengeance, for no reason other than just his pride. Lan Wangji's son surely wasn't like that, he hadn't been a violent, dangerous child. He has seen the pictures, the way that Lan Sizhui had smiled, soft and kind, genuine. He's seen his room, the clean floors and the organized shelves, the sentimental pictures on his desk. He's snooped through that desk, through the drawers and carded through the papers, filled with steady and confident handwriting. He's never seen such high grades, such positive feedback on schoolwork like this before. Lan Sizhui had talent, had a future ahead of him. Had he been looking into universities? Had he applied yet? What did he want to be when all was said and done? Jin Ling wonders if Lan Wangji knows, he debates asking but instead bites his tongue, basking in the sharp, brief pain. His fingers brush over the thin, smooth skin of his wrist, as if soothing an ache that wasn't there, where steel cuffs had bit in not so long ago.
Cuffs that Lan Wangji had unlocked and had then given Jin Ling the opportunity to something much different than what he'd always been told.
He's not quite sure how to proceed from here, he's grown comfortable around Lan Wangji, has settled into his home and found a routine that's almost normal. As normal as they can make it at least. He staunchly doesn't think about how it almost feels like he belongs like he's his son instead. Whether it's out of nerves or just because, he presses his thumb into the tops of his fingers, satisfying little pops coming from the knuckles. He swallows around the lump in his throat, trying to find the right words. There is nothing he can say that would ease the ache that surely was felt, the sting of a lost child. Jin Ling couldn't replace Lan Sizhui, not in the ways that mattered.
❝ Like, I bet he didn't even drink soda. ❞ It's a lighthearted jab at himself and his crippling addiction, that for some reason is indulged, time and time again. ❝ Or get into unnecessary fights. Though if he did I bet he could finish them.❞ His lips curl into upwards, into the beginnings of a smile, something small and only a little happy. Despite Jin Ling's short comings he's still here, still allowed to rest his head here, to raid the fridge and to add to the grocery list. Even though he's not Lan Sizhui,. ❝ I bet you taught him how to fight. And I bet he loved it. ❞
🌸 ┊ letter received from @lanctiflora: ✿ What do you think about public call out posts? / ⚜ How many people do you not like? / the salty af munday meme.
hi ! hope you don't mind me combining the asks ! make's things a bit easier for me to be able to answer you ♡
✿ What do you think about public call out posts?
personally, i am not the biggest fan of them. now, if it is for someone who is really, really bad ? like this person has done such horrible things that it should be known about ? then yes, i appreciate being made aware, and with proper proof, it is good to know about.
but for the most part, i am not a huge fan of airing out grievances this way. in my mind, it creates a huge negative impact in all involved parties and can, if done improperly and when done not for the right reasons be a problem. personally, i am a believer in blocking. you block the person, you report them if being harasser and you talk to your friends and the tumblr team about the next steps.
and don't get me wrong, i feel like at one point in time, we have all felt wronged by someone (sucks, but its true), but that block button exists for a reason and now tumblr has taken even more steps into making sure that person never appears on your dash EVEN if your mutual's are still interacting with them.
from what i have witnessed with this call out culture so far, a lot of it is trying to create a click to isolate someone, or harass them and it just doesn't sit well with me, which is why i don't participate in it.
idk if this is going in circles or if it doesn't make sense. but to me, the answer is; just not a fan of it. won't be participating in it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
⚜ How many people do you not like?
it takes a LOT for me to not like someone. i really try to give people the benefit of the doubt. but, here on tumblr, as of right now, i wanna say 1, and it took that person betraying my trust among many things for me to not like them. but hell, it just depends on the day. max might be like 4-ish people?
but in terms of celeberties or stuff like that, i wanna say about like about a few. because even if i don't like them, i might like their bodies of work so i still watch it. BUT there are a FEW that im like "nope. can't watch. can't do".
outside of tumblr, a lot. BUT its a really really long story and im happy to talk about it more privately as it involves dark topics.
