Langle on University Challenge? :O

There were a few Langle questions on University Challenge this Monday (Birkbeck vs York)!

Just like in the Langle game, the contestants were asked to identify a language from Article 1 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. :D

Unlike on Langle.uk, the contestants didn't have a helpful dropdown menu of languages to choose from.

i've had a few close attempts before, but i'm pretty sure this is the first time i've answered correctly first try for all three levels. i guess i was also lucky that level 3 was a language that i've heard of (which happens often, but it's more common that i haven't)

answers+remarks below

1: spanish

this was trivial

2: georgian

first thought was georgian because of the alphabet, but georgian and armenian vaguely look similar so i had to think about it for a few seconds

3: manx

my initial thought was that it was a language spoken in the british isles (correct) because of the very englishy orthography and the consonants common in celtic languages. especially using 'oo' for (i think,) a plain /u/-like sound. I recognized "resoon as cooinsheanse" as loans from english "reason" and "concience". I guessed manx because i knew its orthography is heavily based on the english orthography, unlike than other celtic languages.
