I’ve been learning some basic Korean at a community center class, and considering that it and Spanish are syllable timed languages…. I think I’ve finally figured out why native English speakers perceive Spanish as being so fast. Because syllable timed languages just. does anyone have suggestions for introductory language learning in addition to the owl? i’ve been working on my low to intermediate spanish in ways that are helping me get better and not lose what i have, but i am almost a complete beginner in german (which i’m working on so that my brother, who’s taking his first german class right now and i can bond over it) and i need SOMETHING that’s more explicit about how gender works, how the fuck you conjugate here, and more of the pronunciation rules.

like, i have SOME familiarity with german pronunciation rules from singing in it for years but i do not know all of them the way i do spanish
