In spite of a horrific headcold wandering down into my chest and a bit too much "help" from my kitten I've finally finished quilting and binding this lapquilt. Some of you may have seen this "Procrasti-quilt" already in the WIP section. I started it in May out of frustration with my super chaotic studio and an inability to clean up. So I made this top instead. 😄
Some close-ups of the stitching, cause it's kinda my favorite part.
And back and label.
All handpieced, handstitched, handbound. Lightweight cotton batting, so it's probably a nice quilt for summer evenings. I'm happy with the way the bright yellow binding makes it all pop so nicely.
Let the handquilting begin.
Got my 60 flowers out for my growing #grandmothersgarden just to see how it was going. I add to it every week. It started as a piece of every fabric I have in my stash, and now I realise that I have NOT even done my liberty fabric!!! Ops🤣. So I got it all out and tried out the white surrounding it. I'm leaning towards making a double flower just so it's big enough to be a decent size #lapquilt . But now the question is what would the next "petals" be, contrasting or complimentary. Ahhh the choices we make, so many choices, that's the fun bit🤣or the paralysing bit 🙀. #hexies #quilting #busyignoringwashingup #sewing

Im in the process of making this quilt top. I have much to do but here is how i got this far.
One from the archive. A Elizabeth Hartman fox quilt made for my mothers Christmas present. She genuinely loved it ! But now keeps going on and on about how I should sell them, bless her she really does not how much I would have to charge someone to make any kind of profit. Or the hours it takes to make one!
I'm really going to have to learn how to take better pictures. I always seem to make them more “real life” than instagram!
