For this 2004 fundraising edition for the New Museum, Hiroshi Sugimoto photographed the upper and the lower half of the Tokyo University replica of Duchamp's Large Glass 45 times with an 8x10 camera. Then he made contact prints of each pair of negatives, and sandwiched them between slabs of glass. Called la Boite en Bois (Wooden Box), at least one person decided to make a fitted acrylic mount for theirs. And now they're selling it at Sotheby's.
