DR PEPPER “Highway”
This spot was originally titled “Life is a Highway” as the plan was to use that song. But in post we found the energy behind the generic Dirty South Rap beat. This spot also originally included “Tuba Steve” popping out from behind the curtain and helping them with directions in a dry way. “Make a right at that spooky tree.” But had to remove him due to him not wearing a seatbelt. We can’t promote bad driving habits. Buckle up for safety everyone.
DR PEPPER “Breakdown”
This director cut is a combination of two cuts that played during the College National Championship game on January 9, 2017. Originally there was a “TO BE CONTINUED” cliffhanger when Larry looks off to the mysterious car pulling up. The first played during the game and the followup played right as the game ended, before the trophy ceremony.
LARRY CULPEPPER
We just completed a really fun Dr Pepper/ESPN campaign with Larry Culpepper (Jim Connor), Jesse Palmer, Joe Tessitore, and Barak Hardley (AKA Tuba Steve) together with the geniuses at Deutsch Agency and The Vault, NYC. Super fun group of collaborators that constantly make me laugh, cry, and pee just a little. Coming to a TV playing the College National Championship game near you.
The latest with Dr. Pepper.
Larry Culpepper believes he invented the College National Championship and in 2015 he set out to get enough signatures to present the trophy. Because of your help, he got the chance. Here's why he never did it.
