If you’ll allow me, I think Megan and Larry would have a female-led relationship. Not even on purpose or anything; it’s just how their relationship works best for the both of ‘em.

Favourite Male Characters (TV) pt. 3
I think Larry feeling back to himself in Breaking Point (04 x 11) is a reflection of Megan doing better as she confronts her past. Call me crazy, but I think Larry and Megan are having twinning emotional arcs so reading one for clues into the other is not too much of a stretch.
Breaking Point (04 x 11) — First time I’ve heard Charlie call Larry “Lawrence.” I kind of wished Megan was around to talk to Charlie again, but I suppose Colby will do. I think there could be some parallels to Primacy (04 x 07) regarding how Charlie v. Amita is treated when their willing involvement in a case endangers them. This is the first episode where Larry feels like pre-space Larry and I wonder how that changed in one episode. (But I am glad for that change!)
Larry and Megan in Tabu (04 x 08) convince me that Charmita was an afterthought to the writers. How the hell do you write an excellent older m/f ship and then FUMBLE your MAIN CHARACTER’S ship???
Watched Primacy (04 x 07) and have some thoughts:
Happy to see Amita being the knowledgeable one, rather than supporting cast to Charlie’s knowledge
I like that Amita has some long-as-fuck-time friends that she’s kept since her freshman undergrad years (at minimum anyway.)
THAT BEING SAID I do wish we heard more of them. I’m accepting head canons ❤️
Look at Charlie trying to keep Amita out of harms way! The same way Don tried to keep Charlie away 🥺
Can Amita still enjoy playing Primacy after this? Or is it kind if tainted by the fact someone killed her over it…
I have so many thoughts about Larry and space. I don’t know, but I feel like going to space might’ve been the worst thing that happened to him on a spiritual/humanistic level.
I think part of the reason I can’t seem to get in vested in Charmita is because so much of the actual relationship happens off screen. How have we not gotten them having an ON SCREEN successful date yet?? They’ve been dating for a good couple episodes now???
I think this is the first episode I’ve seen Larry and Megan butt heads.
I missed David :(
Don calling Amita “sweetheart” on pure instinct was a nice surprise.
I hope Alan gets his condo one day ❤️
NUMB3RS REWATCH -> My Favorite Larry Fleinhardt Moments ↳ 2.01
There is something so beautiful in a meta sense about Larry going to space in Numb3rs. Because I've seen before actors leave their roles and their characters get killed off in ways that suggests some level of spite. For example, the writers of House said that if Kal Penn had left the show for anything less than working for Obama, they'd have killed his character in the most humiliating way they could think of.
But Peter MacNicol left to do a stint on 24 and his send off on Numb3rs is so beautiful, it still gets me emotional. The characters are all full of love and admiration for Larry. Charlie has a moment where he insists it's not going to happen, that Larry will back out, because deep down, he doesn't want him to go, he's scared something bad will happen. But he ultimately knows he can't kill Larry's dream, that it's a great opportunity and no one should begrudge him that. Charlie even helps him when it seems Larry will be scratched from the mission. Because we support the people we care about, even if we'd rather them not leave us.
Larry gets escorted to NASA by Buzz Aldrin himself. The other characters toast him with milk instead of champagne because of his predilection for white foods. It's so full of love for the character and I can't help but feel it's out of love of Peter MacNicol too. Like they all agreed that this was a great opportunity for him as an actor and weren't going to hold it against him that he took it, even if it meant he had to pause his involvement on their show. And they made it clear, the door would be open when he was ready to come back.
"May the solar winds always be at your back."
This show is so full of love and it's really very special.
