Man, I was listening to Lover of Mine and I'm honestly struck by how much of a Luke and Ashton song it actually is. I mean just from how percussion heavy the instrumentation is. To the lyrics of the song which are incredibly heartfelt and fits them perfectly. Luke's vocals overlaying with Ashton's fucking drums. I feel like that song is actually quite symbolic in its instrumentation. If that makes sense. Honestly, the songs they’ve created tell a very specific story. It's like puzzle pieces.

There's one line in Lover of Mine that makes me think of Lashton all the time; it's "i've seen the red, i've seen the blue". It's probably kind of dumb but i just associate Ashton with red and Luke with blue.

Besides that, the fandom has made such a fuss about it being a Lierra song, that is kinda ruined it for me. But as I said previously, it's not and will never be, the lovey-dovey love song Lierra stans wish for. It's not a sad song neither, but it's about a much more complex and darker story than Lierra could have, in my opinion. Wish is why I agree with you, it could relate to Lashton.

The way it's about forgiving your partner's mistakes and accept them as they are with they flaws and imperfections. It could really be about them.

Also I love your interpretation of the music/intrumentation! It's a good point!

Luke has said the album his a strory (and most likely his) but it's not in the roght order. So you're pretty much right about it being a puzzle!

I love how you delve into the theories about Lashton, something I see very few blogs do. You've said a few times that you think Luke and Ashton are together in phases. I'd love to hear more of your thoughts on this and views about which interviews/miscellaneous interactions indicate their on and off phases to you? x

Hey! Thank you for your ask. I love to theorize about Lashton!! ahah 

So my global theory is that while Ashton and Luke had feelings and attraction for each other pretty much from day 1, they struggled (and probably still struggle) to make something stable and positive about it. I believe they both had/have a hard time accepting that they are attracted to another man and on top of that their best friend. I guess the band dynamic is also a major factor and that they’d rather fuck up their love lives, than the band and their career. 

So with that my theory is that they have phases were they are flirty, cute with each other, get closer, etc. Leading up to a plateau where they kinda feel/live a couple. And then comes a downhill phase, when it becomes too much, too real, too serious, for one or the other and they freak out, or when band priorities comes clashing (management maybe? PR and stuns? that kind of thing). So they end up hurting each other a bit, and get some distance. Distance which is always hampered by the fact that they are in a band and see other almost everyday, and have to work together no matter what. And with a little bit of time and healing and longing, this goes back to another flirty phase eventually. 

Does it make sense? x) I hope it does. 

In practice that would be : first flirty phase would be the whole 1D and Selftitled era, even if that’s a long time I don’t think anything serious happened, but they were both happy with it at the time. Then a distance phase when Bryanna comes in picture and Arz a bit later. I’d believe mid-SLFL tour, Ashton and Luke started a new flirty phase that grew up during all the writing of YB era and plateau-ed when they lives together at the end of 2017. The beginning and formalization of Lierra most-likely took a shot at them, for a large art of 2018. After that, 2019 till now is a bit more blurry, I should ding on it. 

For 2011 till 2017 vision of my headcanon Lashton / theorized Lashton, you can read, if you have the time and if you want to, my lashton fic “Les histoires d’amour finissent mal en général / Love stories don’t usually end happily” on wattpad or AO3. 

I guess you could say that’s half a theory and half a headcanon ? While that’s nothing proving is wrong, that’s not necessarily much proving it right either ^^”. It’s just that it makes sens in my head. Although the amount of push-and-pull love songs that we got from YB and CALM (and we know Lashton were the main writers for that) makes me think that it might not be so out of mark.

J'ai vu ton commentaire sur matching ring necklaces. Selon toi, ça n'est qu'un accessoire=une coïncidence ou pas? Vu que tous les deux sont Cancers(les plus sensibles des signes astrologiques) ils pourraient donner un sens particulier à ce truc-là. P.S. J'essaye de ne t'embêter trop sur ce thème)

Re-Bonjour ! Pas de  problème ! J’adore discuter avec les autres Lashton Stans :D 

La discussion auour du “matching necklace” date des MTV EMAs de  2018. Je pensais qu’il s’agissait d’un bague sur une chaine, mais en fait non ! x) C’est un pendantif rond (mais plein, pas vide).

Sur cette video on ne voyait que Luke et Ashton le porter. Mais quelques jours plus tard, on a vu Calum en porter un aussi. A ce moment là j’étais hyper choquée de voir que le symbole sur le pendantif c’est deux hommes qui se tiennent la main. (d’ailleurs on ne me croyait pas au début :p )

Au final, tous les membres du groupe ont le même y compris Micheal même s’il ne l’a montré qu’une seule fois. Le symbole signifie ‘frère’ et n’a donc rien de romantique... ni d’astrologique...

Maiiiiiiiiiis, Luke et Ashton partage pas mal d’autres vetements et accessoire, et je trouve ça très mignon ! Et ils ont tous les deux la même bague, avec des étoiles, qu’ils portent souvent au majeur (ce qui a une symbolique dans le monde LGBTQ+).

The discussion around the “matching necklace” is originally from the 2018 MTV EMAs. At first, I thought it was a ring on a chain, but in fact, it’s not! x) It is a round pendant (full, not empty).

On this video we only saw Luke and Ashton wearing it. But a few days later, we saw Calum wearing one too. At that time I was super shocked to see that the symbol on the pendant is two men holding hands. (btw some didn't believe me about it at the first :p)

In the end, it turn out all the members of the group have the same including Micheal even if he has only shown it once. The symbol means "brother" and is therefore not romantic ... nor astrological ...

Buuuuuuuuuut, Luke and Ashton share a lot of other clothes and accessories, and I find it very cute! And they both have the same ring, with stars, which they often wear on the middle finger (which has a symbolism in the LGBTQ + community).
