Next we have part one of a double feature!
Took a while but life, then I had no motivation, then life again.... But anyways! Allow me to introduce Britta!
To be perfectly honest there isn't a reason for the name. This time around it just felt right. Britta is the third demon I made and I didn't have to edit her at all! Like in a photo editor, obviously I changed some things.
Skip past second set of pictures for her story.
For Britta the only things I changed where to make all the demons cohesive and her clothes obviously.
I felt she was too serious of a person to wear a hoodie to school so I fixed that. She is however still a bit influenced by her sister and has the shorts still.
I changed her ears because I officially decided that the pointed up ones go to angels and the pointed out ones go to demons. There are outliers but for the most part that's the rule.
Yes she has a yellow tint to her but she's not blonde, she has white hair. Yes she does have her ears pierced like the left image in canon. Also those are reading glasses.
Now let me tell you about her.
In our world it is all but fact that demons and angels exist. Which would lead people to believe that at least a version of heaven and hell exist. They would be, for the most part, correct. The land of paradise up in the clouds and the caves of punishment far underground. It's never worked exactly how people think it does but that's a story for another time. For now we're focusing on how a person's fate is decided.
When a souls body has passed the soul itself is placed before an angel and a demon. Those two go over the souls life on a surface level, things one would find out from a Google search of someones name and a conversation. Are they polite? Kind? Are they convicted of any serious crimes? Depending on the results the soul goes up or down. Attitude doesn't fully effect the score as you can be a rude but good person or a kind person with the worst intentions. Obviously though, overall positive is up and overall negative is down, but it doesn't end there. After that there is a second evaluation with another demon and angel, both up and down.
The up evaluation takes a much deeper look over a souls record. Every choice and every action the soul has ever made. Each one has a different number of points associated with it. It's not a system of having more points in one category vs another. One can't have 150 points in the 'bad' (B points) while having 160 in the 'good' (G points) and still get into paradise. The number of good does not outweigh the bad. If the number of B points goes over a certain number then you have to go down. Not just back to the beginning, you go all the way down to the bottom evaluation level. Obviously if it doesn't go past that point then you go to paradise. Sometimes by a very thin margin.
The down evaluation throws out the G points section all together and focuses on the B points. Going over each of the souls the actions it is given a proper punishment. These actions and points will determine the type, severity, and duration of the punishments. The demon and angel of that level also deal with those that are.... Unhappy with the results. Forcing the soul to go if they must. No mercy should be given.
At first this position was voluntary and there were much more sections than just the three. However over time people stopped volunteering. So they took away the other sections and made it a full time payed position. They even live there, all expenses payed. At that point many people flocked to apply with pay now being on the table. Those that passed now lived in a sort of middle dimension between the three plains of existence.
This is where Britta was born and raised. Her parents did their best to raise her normally considering the circumstances and they did well. She's smart, strong, impartial, and logical. The girl had to live and breath the system of sorting souls so it made sense she would get an understanding for right and wrong. Though it was not expected that she would grow so passionate about the system itself, wanting to work in it and perhaps even improve on it starting at a very young age.
The second she decided though, that was it, she was now working towards the goal of being a part of this system. After some quick deeper research she decided she wanted to be in charge of deciding people's punishments. Not because she enjoyed the idea of it but because she thought that this one is where people needed the most strength to hold their ground and not give into pity. Well that and her mother worked at that station.
Her passion however was a problem with other aspects of her life. The girl had no friends nor did she really care to have any. She found everyone to be annoying and childish, ironically she decided this at around the age of eight. Aside from learning more about their work the girl didn't even like spending time with her parents. The only one that could bring out that more childish side of her was her sister. She made Britta a bit more loose and comfortable, not a drastic change but enough to see that they truly cared for one another and felt safe around each other.
Brittas enrollment wasn't by some miraculous scholarship or even really by choice. Her parents had gone to the school before and were basically forcing her and her sister to go as a legacy. They still had to take entrance exams and prove they belonged but it was significantly easier since their parents had already laid the ground work. So for the first time in her life, Britta would be away from home and forced to interact with others. The very thought of it scared her. Well, at least she had her twin to ground her to reality.
There we are! Britta (again no last name, I'm bad at this guys) hers is simpler since.... Well she's a home body. She wants to go to work and go home, no in-between. She doesn't have a dramatic past, or a cruel family. In fact she has a very loving family. So I took the chance to also explain the system of soul sorting or SSS. It only made sense since she was so obsessed with it I do it in hers as well.
