Started on the Snowflake quilt today. Got all the pieces cut out and three of the block design fully finished. Was almost done with the last block but my machine started acting up so I guess it was telling me to quit for the night. I’m so close so I should be able to get the top done tomorrow. There’s a whole lot wrong with this dress but a whole lot right with it, too. Wrong: hard to zip up; slightly uncomfortable because the waist is deliberately reducing mine by 3”; bodice ruching is awkward and I need to keep pulling it up (perhaps some well-placed flash tape would help); the inner lining is a tidy but weird patchwork-like situation; the lower black underskirt is kind of a trainwreck; still not 100% convinced this shade of green looks any good on me. Right: lining is crisp with no topstitching (read: cheating) whatsoever; underwear is fully optional; a picture doesn’t do it justice; it’s hecka fun to flounce around in; DAT PEACOCK FABRIC; I designed it to double up as a potential future burlesque costume (it’s way easier to UNzip, comes apart in 3 neat pieces, and is already sparkly as heck).
