|08-18-18| I’m back from my hiatus! Second year was really rough on me and I really just didn’t have the energy to manage this account - but that’s okay. It’s okay to give yourself a break. I’ve been doing summer classes at Columbia, and I had a final due yesterday. So... I spent the first few days of my family vacation in the public library!! Typical. Hope you guys are doing well! Heyyy I wanna study IR as well! Is it true that since they allow you to take 3 subjects in your first year you can take anything with IR? Like I can take history and a language and continue on with only IR and history even if I only applied for IR? Also, any tips for personal statement writing?

Yes, you can take 3 subjects in your first year. I’m taking IR, Philo, and Modern History this year. I have no idea if I’ll like them at all but I’m going forward with it this year! For personal statements, I think it really depends where you live. For the UK they’re really looking for a straightforward “who are you and what does the subject have to do with you” kind of thing. For the US most schools look for that plus personality.

Hi Lina! I am going to be studying International Relations, although I am not entirely sure if I like it. I can always switch my major next year if I don’t like it! Also, I am an international student. I live in the US.

Hi! Follow up: what do you use the zebra name pen for? I haven't used a few of the pens that you said you used so I'm not sure how you used them in your notes.

Hello~ I like to use it for headings (cause it’s a little thicker), like the “A. Structure and Composition” from my Atmosphere notes. Sorry I guess I wasn’t very clear previously.

Hi I'm Angie! I was wondering, what pens did you use for your atmosphere notes? Also, did the pens bleed? If they didn't, what notebook did you use? (I'm a stationary nerd...)

Hi Angie! I used these pens and only the Zebra Name Pen bled a little (currently on the look out for an alternative that doesn’t bleed, do you have any suggestions?). The notebook I used was the Muji P-Paper Notebk B5 6mm Rule 5pcs/set which has nice off-white paper. I’m also a stationery nerd :D
