Latirhinus is a relatively recently described genus of Kritosaurin known from the Cerror del Pueblo Formation in Mexico, increasing our number of Mexican non-avian dinosaurs. It lived about 72.5 million years ago, in the Campanian age of the Late Cretaceous. Having a large, arched nasal bone above the snout and enlarged nasal openings, it is clearly a relative of Kritosaurus and Gryposaurus. It was probably most closely related to Gryposaurus due to the similarity of the widened nasal structure to that of Gryposaurus, more so than other members of the clade. It is one of the most southern Saurolophines known and increases the prevalence of Kritosaurins in the southern part of Laramidia during the Campanian. It did not live in a particularly diverse formation - most likely due to preservation bias - living alongside the hadrosaurs Kritosaurus and Velafrons, and the Ceratopsian Coahuilaceratops.
