Humour in the midst of a crisis:
Year: 2006.
The invincible Australians bat first versus South Africa and score an "impossible" 434/4. The South Africans are on the mat.
As the players walk back to the dressing room for the break, the usually silent Jacques Kallis says, "Boys, our bowlers did a good job. Australia are 15 runs short."
Every one burst out laughing and the ice was broken.
I will always remember Kallis for this one incident. I mean, it takes guts to crack a joke at such a time.
SA go on to chase the "impossible" and make history.
Kallis goes on to score 45 Test hundreds and write a bit of his own history.
