a little comparison....

Laurel Lance:

grew up in a nice stable family (this is clear bc she obviously went to a rich school (oliver went there) and had a stable, not divorced family)

had a perfect life literally

ONLY WENT FOR OLIVER BECAUSE SARA LIKED HIM WTF

boyfriend cheated with her on her sister (one of the only problems she ever had to deal with it)

still able to go to law school *which her parents obviously payed for* , got a nice job (and lived in a fucking amazing apartment besides being a civil servant)

basically had an easy fucking life other than oliver (which is like you knew he was a fucking frat boy come on)

treated sara like a bitch (the flashback to when sara got on the boat with oliver episode)

sister died (then came back to life - and she fucking was rude as hell to her until she finally apologized but seriously who is hateful to their sister who came back from the dead what the actual fuck)

literally nothing else happened to her (except being an alcoholic for like 2 days and insta recovery)

sister died again (that sucked and i did feel bad, but then she goes against everyone else’s words and better judgment and brings her back, not caring about what it will subject her too)

SLEPT WITH OLIVER RIGHT AFTER TOMMY

TRIED TO KISS OLIVER AFTER TOMMY DIED

FUCKING TREATED TOMMY LIKE ASS, AND HONESTLY IS THE REASON HE IS DEAD (she had to save the files guys!!)

blackmailed ppl to get her job back after she was rightfully disbarred

finally died bc she was inexperienced and dumb and shouldn’t have been in the field and was more of a hindrance than a help to the team

Felicity Smoak:

father left her and her mom when she was young

mom was always working at a vegas bar (and not exactly easy to deal with)

was poor, had to put herself through college

in college, designed a genius super virus, which her boyfriend used in a bad way, then hung himself (which she blamed her self for) only to come back after five years to try and kill her and her mother (lol laurel thought oliver was bad come on bitch suck it up)

managed to get herself a job working her ass off at QC Consolidated

helped walter discover moira’s secrets, not afraid to speak up for herself or get fired – because she knew she was doing important stuff

joined oliver’s crusade, saved his life, did it all for Walter, and convinced oliver to do “some real good in the city”

supported oliver and diggle no matter what

saved the fucking city from one of the bombs (meanwhile laurel saved her files!!)

got oliver to come back and save the city

became an executive assistant (putting back her career and goals) FOR THE GOOD OF THE FUCKING CITY AND SHE DESERVED BETTER

had to deal with Isobel treating her like a bitch

HAD TO DEAL WITH LAUREL BEING A BITCH (”that would mean you would have to fire her” and the bitchy ass eye roll when Felicity dared to talk to Oliver about actual important stuff”)

moira fucking blackmailed her and tried to get her not to tell oliver the truth - which she still fucking did even tho she was afraid she would lose yet another person

got shot taking a bullet from sara (and learned to put aside her insecurities and become friends with sara (unlike laurel who took like forever to appreciate her sister coming back from the dead))

fucking risked her life (without being asked) to go with slade and injected him with the cure and fucking saved the day

basically saved the day every damn time

dealt with oliver being an ass about barry and what not

helped diggle always

then decided when oliver was being a little bitch she would get more from her life (didn’t fucking dote on him like laurel)

had to deal with her friend sara’s death

became a fucking vice president of a company - which she fucking earned

kicked as a VP

ex BF came back to try and kill her - and she fucking saved herself and her mom

had to deal with the man she loved dying

helped laurel and supported her even tho she was fucking useless (only person who did this)

stood up to oliver for laurel

stood up to oliver about the entire reason they were in that mess

her boyfriend got shot - she had to fucking save him - and she did

fucking saves olivers live using ray’s suit

not to mention hacking all the cameras and what not helps find the virus in the city

so basically saves the day again

finally has some happiness with oliver

then they come back

forced to fire people - but she finds a way around it - becomes a kick ass CEO

kicks ass at both things - only person to support oliver as mayor

then oliver starts lying to her about his kid, and proposes to her - she gets shot

paralyzed for months - but finds a way to accept it and grow into it

her dad comes back after YEARS- only to try and use her position to run a scam - breaks her heart all over again

finds out her mom made him leave - meaning both her parents have been lying to her since she was seven in a BIG FUCKIGN WAY

curtis gives her a way to walk again - then finds out oliver has been lying to her for months - since BEFORE THEY WERE ENGAGED WHEN MERYLN AND THEA KNEW BUT NOT FELICITY BECAUSE WHY??

has to go through a wedding with the person who lied to her (whom she loved) (also why does everyone lie to her)

gets fired bc she has to spend all her time saving the city and can’t devote time to her job

havenrock - had to fucking make this choice and takes all the guilt and the blame to save millions of lives

then fucking saves the world AGAIN

season 5, struggling with haven rock - no one is fucking there to help her or talk about it with her

new bf gets killed

gets john out of prison

literally saves the day again

finds out who black siren is and punches her out (I REWATCH THIS EVERY DAY)

has to join helix when no one fucking listens to her

finds susan, saves oliver’s career

fucking GETS A PICTURE OF ADRIAN AS PROMETHEUS

then the entire team doesn’t support her when she fucking has a way to find prometheus (bc god forbid a strong women does something remotely questionable)

DOES IT ANYWAY AND SUCCEEDS

temporarily paralyzed again

gets kidnapped by adrian

blown up on an island

NEED I FUCKING GO ON…
