Gotham tabloids in Lawfulverse absolutely look for any reason to explain why Bruce Wayne only ever has first dates and finally at one point they all just settled on "He's having a torrid affair with one of his childhood friends" and none of them can agree on if it's Harvey or Roman, so now they get into cover wars about it.

It's like irl ship wars except two of the involved men are actual mob bosses who regularly try to shoot the third while he's dressed like a bat.

Scarecrow to LV! Scarecrow? Somehow?

Dear Alternate Universe Scarecrow,

I am writing this letter with the intention of it reaching some alternate universe, preferably myself in an alternate universe. Now, I don't know if such things exist, but if there are other Cranes out there, they must know one thing besides fear, and that is a good peach pie.

You're probably thinking to yourself, something akin to growing up in the south and already knowing well enough about peach pie. But rest assured, you have not had my favorite peach pie. I don't even make this pie, Harley does. Do you have a Harley Quinn? Surely her pie is nothing compared to my Harley's.

Enclosed is a recipe for peach pie, including a recipe for homemade french vanilla ice cream. As Harley would say, don't knock it til you try it. Nothing my Great Granny made could compare to this dessert. It's so wonderful and it brings forth a wistful feeling I can not describe.

Now that Mod is finally in Eight-Day Circus, I have all these myriad thoughts about how he's evolved in my own design.

Like if you've been here awhile you probably know he started out having almost entirely punk elements to his design and I started gradually adding mod fashion to try and keep the name Mad Mod relevant.

And now I'm writing his introduction as a character with the punk elements basically present in the sense that the two fashion styles and subcultures are related.

I also had to go through a decent process of undoing a lot of misconceptions about mod fashion that I had absorbed.

Harley in the most recently written chapter of Eight-Day Circus is like "Jon's grandmother is the nicest lady I've ever met she always makes me feel better" and I know Jon and Marion's dynamic is best explained by the incident where Jon walked in, still in full Scarecrow costume, covered in pig blood because he hid in a slaughterhouse, and Marion took one look at him and said "Oh, no, this is not a just take a shower issue this is a hose you outside, right fucking now issue"

She did have questions about the costume but the blood was getting on her good carpet.

at some point i need to include on my list of things to commission "Scarecrow Expression Sheet" bc in my brain I have a very solid picture of Jon's dumb face but it occurs to me all my references don't quite express the sheer level of "Stop That" his expressions hit.
