"Since you left, I have no one to talk to." with Lawlight, please? :3
“How dare you.” Light’s words were slightly slurred, and it was really unlike him to be so drunk. He gripped the top of the headstone with both hands but it didn’t provide anything more than stability, the barest minimum that the laws of physics and gravity afforded anyone. Light needed so much more but there was no solace here, the grass atop L’s grave was too soft to ground him.
“How dare you die.” His head hung down, his long bangs nearly touching the granite inscribed with only ‘Ryuzaki’ and a date three years ago. L hadn’t gotten enough either, in life or in death, but it didn’t stop Light’s anger at the dead detective for reducing him, tonight, to something so...banal. The mighty Kira, slumming in a graveyard on Halloween night, weeping for his dead enemy.
“Yes yes...I know it was my fault.” Light’s nails dug into the stone, dug into a conversation with a ghost. “But it was your fault, too. Couldn’t you have given me any other option?!” His face contorted as he screamed internally, muscles rigid until he forced them to relax. A whisper, “You would have done the same. Killed me. Wouldn’t you?”
He stumbled to one knee and slumped with his back against the stone, looking up at the rare clear and starry night that Tokyo’s light pollution usually occluded. He sighed and glanced down, only now noticing that he’d accidentally broken the ceramic vase meant to hold flowers for this grave. “....shit.” He hadn’t meant to intentionally desecrate this place-- merely to rail at spirits since he had no one else to be honest with now.
“It’s bad luck.” Light chuckled as he picked up the pieces of the broken vase, at the irony of being worried about this minor offense against the weight of his much greater ones. He pulled his hand back when his fingers touched paper instead of cool ceramic: a folded-up letter lay among the shards, clean and crisp, and obviously placed there recently. Light’s fingers trembled as he took the paper to unfold and read the typed text.
“Out beyond ideas of wrong-doing and right-doing there is a field. I’ll meet you there. 47.687359, 13.067428.”
Light’s heart was beating so fast he was dizzy, the paper shaking as he tried to focus on the GPS coordinates. Please….be a real place and not some prank. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, opening them to enter the numbers into his phone to see where they led to.
An isolated house in Mehlweg Meadow, several miles south of Salzberg, Germany. Could it really be that L was alive? Had been alive all this time, watching him and waiting for the right moment?
Light looked around the graveyard, hurriedly pocketing the letter and pulling himself to standing on unsteady feet. He thought he’d seen L’s dead body, thought he’d witnessed L’s coffin being lowered into the cold ground right under his feet. But this was the same man who had outwitted Kira before-- the same man who had tricked him and challenged him like no one else. The same man he’d missed terribly, but could never admit it to anyone. Was it too much to hope that L had missed him, too?
Light let out a loud laugh, raising his gaze to the moon, and while he wasn’t sure if what he felt was dread or exhilaration, one thing was clear. He was going to that field. He would meet L there. The game was back on, and they’d have plenty to talk about.

A/N: The coordinates go near the field in the Alps where the iconic scene in ‘Sound of Music’ was filmed, with Maria singing “The hills are alive, with the sound of music...” The quote in the letter is by Rumi.
For this meme.
Fyozai and/or Kunikidazai for the ship meme? :3
Thank you so much for the ask!! <3
Fyozai
vomit / don’t ship / okay / cute / adorable / perfect / beyond flawless / hot damn / screaming and crying / i will ship them in hell
It was a strange duality, this relationship thing. On the one hand, neither of them truly liked the other, their days spent bickering or trying to best one another. On the other, though, they liked each other too much, and for all the wrong reasons.
But conventional was never an interest to them, so it didn’t matter much.
Fyodor didn’t let it show how much he liked the small touches he could receive without worrying about the effect his touch would had on the other. There was one person on this earth who he was guaranteed not to kill, and if that person was an utter annoyance than it was a fair price to pay for the luxury of feeling that tempting human condition. Dazai liked it that he was faced with a man who could hurt so many, and yet he was immune. Even better, he had control. Neither of them admitted it, but somehow Dazai had wormed his way into holding the one thing Fyodor craved over his head.
Fyodor never mentioned how desperately he felt he needed to keep it, and Dazai never mentioned how giving it seemed to chip away at his soul.
Kunikidazai
vomit / don’t ship / okay / cute / adorable / perfect / beyond flawless / hot damn / screaming and crying / i will ship them in hell
One thing Kunikida never expected Dazai to be was quiet.
Yet here he was.
The morning light was turning from dusky to yellow, lighting up the kitchen as Dazai sat there, looking at Kunikida blankly before lifting his hand up in a meek wave. He hadn’t started breakfast - good, Kunikida thought, sneakily eyeing the charred portions of the wall - but before he went to cook it himself, Kunikida stopped next to his chair and ran his fingers through his hair. Immediately, Dazai leaned into his touch, murmuring something that didn’t quite sound like a sentence Kunikida was supposed to make sense of.
“Are you ready to start the day?” Kunikida asked. After a beat of silence, Dazai looked up at him and gave him an attempt at a smile.
“I will be,” he answered, and Kunikida tried to return a bigger version of the smile he gave.
I’ll take a potato chip AND EAT IT!

Hey 😊 Sorry to dive-bomb into your inbox, but since rewatching dn (yet again lmao) I've been even more smitten with the idea of fem!Light. So, do you think L would have been as quick as he was in canon to suspect Light if she had been a girl?
Hello!! I hope you've been well 💞
I think I wrote something about this before, and I think my answer was that I'm pretty sure L would treat Light very similarly as a girl. I know that Ohba is sexist and that colours the way the other characters perceive and talk about the girls and how the girls are written, but L wasn't one of the characters who was too openly biased one way or the other regarding gender. He mostly treated everyone the same just based on how he perceived them as either suspicious in the case or useful to him in some way. So if I just base it on how he came off in canon then that's generally how I imagine he would act toward fem!Light, and fem!Light might be the one who would have more internal struggles and such about it. I'll see if I can find the post again to reblog after answering this because I probably worded it better back then. I'm very rusty with my canon right now and probably should give it another read soon just to be more confident about my takes!
