In his letter to the Church in Galatia, Paul has been critiquing some false teachers. He accuses them of using their obedience to a few Old Testament commands to excuse themselves from doing good to others. He states that this was a mockery to God & a form of self-deception. God could see through their “religious” veil into their hearts. So in the preceding verses, Paul warns that these believers will REAP what they SOW. So if they continue to only love themselves & not others, they will reap DESTRUCTION! Paul states that when we sow to PLEASE THE SPIRIT, we reap eternal Life (Gal. 6:8). To please the Spirit means doing GOOD to others. Why? Because that’s what Jesus did. In His lifetime, Jesus did nothing but GOOD for others. After He was baptized, the Spirit descended upon Him & empowered Him to carry out His ministry which was characterized by doing GOOD things for others. Things that advanced their spiritual relationship to God as well as helped them make profit. Jesus sowed His flesh into the ground when He died on the Cross so that He could reap Eternal Life for Himself & for us. Now, sistren & brethren, I call on you to lay down your life like Jesus did. Laying down your life does NOT just mean taking a bullet for someone. It can mean going out of your way to call them or visit them or do things for them that sacrifice your time, space, & energy. There are a LOT of ways to good out there. Don’t let your salvation in Jesus excuse your not taking action to DO GOOD to others. Instead let it be a MOTIVATOR to DO GOOD! Sow your life for others & you shall surely reap His Resurrection Life in Jesus Name. 🙏🏿 #dogood #galatians #jesus #laydownyourlife #sacrifice https://www.instagram.com/p/ClaU0RCN4pC/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
