Stuck With Me (XXXX x reader)

Here is my xxxx oneshot! I have mixed feelings about the quality of this, seeing as it’s my first time writing for Layer Cake. I did base this more off of the book than the movie, so if he seems a bit ooc, then that might be why? This is also very, very short.... Anyway, I hope you all enjoy!

I did not reference race, gender, sexuality, or physical appearance. If I missed something, please let me know so I can change it!

Warnings: dub-con (kissing), cursing, drinking

"Excuse me?” It takes me a moment to realize that the voice is directed at me. I turn away from my drink, fully intent on telling them they’re on the wrong fucking balcony, but the words don’t come out. “Sorry about this, but - um - my ex is here and trying to talk to me. Do you mind pretending that - you know - we’re together?”

It’s rare that you find someone as innocent looking as this in this part of town. And if it weren’t for how out-of-place they look in their cardigan and how fucking tense their shoulders are, I would’ve turned back around. But I’d like to think that I have enough of a head on me to be able to help a person in need.

“It’s fine.”

“Thank you! I’m (Y/N)!” This person has quite the lungs on them because they start talking and don’t fucking stop. I do try and listen though. They’re here with some of their uni friends who are too busy drinking to bother helping. It’s sad, really. It makes you wonder what the fuck normal looks like then realize you’re staring right at it. It’s wearing a cardigan and blue sneakers and has nicely trimmed nails and a fucking heart on their sleeve.

“What does this guy look like, exactly?”

“Ah, well...” They look around for a moment then duck down out of sight from someone behind me. “He’s coming this way! I think he saw me.” (Y/N) visibly swallows and gives me an apologetic look.

“I hope you don’t mind, then.” I murmur. Before (Y/N) can ask, I set my drink down and shift to cage them between my arms. I was honestly just gonna give them a peck on the lips then move to make it look like I was necking them. But the surprised look on their face riled me up in a way I wasn’t expecting and I found myself wanting more. A hand pushes at my shoulder, so I pull away. 

“What was that?” They squeak, clearly flustered. 

“Is your ex gone?”

“What? Oh.” They look around tentatively. “Uh, I think so?”

“Then there you go. Problem solved.”

“Yeah, but you can’t - you just - what?”

“I just kissed you.”

“Yeah, you did.” 

“Was I not supposed to?”

“I was expecting a little something more.”

“A little something more.” I raise a brow and fighting to keep the smirk off my face. 

“Wait! No! That came out wrong! I just meant that I wasn’t expecting it and was imagining that...” To think a kiss would fluster someone so much.

“That I’d talk to him?”

“Actually, you know what? Never mind. Forget I said a word.”

“So. Since you aren’t keen on the kissing, what would you have me do the next time he walks by?”

“The next time?” They blanch. “I - um - I don’t know... I’d suggest we sit and chat and hope for the best, but...”

“I’m not much of a talker.”

“...I couldn’t have chosen the worst person for this.”

“In these parts? A kiss should be the least of your worries.”

“Has anybody told you how charming you can be?”

“I’m not known for my conversational skills, so no.”

“Right. Not much of a talker.”

“You could just leave.”

“I can’t. I’m the designated driver.”

“Your friends will be fine.”

“In these parts?”

“Then you’re stuck with me.”

“Great.”

This was super short, but I kinda like it this way? I don’t know. Like I said, first time for this character, so I’m really just testing the waters here. Also I have no idea how to tag this character since he has no name!

So a little update on what’s been going on! I have three asks, the last(!!!) chapter of Rampage, a one-shot for xxxx from Layer Cake, and three headcanon sets (one for Michael Rooker characters) all in the making as of this moment! I should start posting stuff again by Friday, so buckle up y'all!

I have also officially started watching The Walking Dead and Some Voices will be seen this weekend! I don’t know when I’ll get the chance to see The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo because it just got taken off of Netflix, but Road to Perdition still is. We’ll just have to wing it! 

I can’t wait for y’all to see what I’ve been up to! <3
