I'm still here morning run
I don't post like I used to, but when I do it's a long one. Very busy lately .
Yes, my run week starts on Wednesday morning, so what. 6+ miles done.
Runs for the next few weeks are going to be special. As I've said recently I'm registering for a little 5k that I do every year for a charity that I support (Kids in Distress). As I also might have mentioned is that my father in law has moved back with his family from Brasil and is also a runner. Difference being is that he's been running for many more years than I have, he is innately competitive, and he does HIIT (Orange Theory) training just about 5-6 times a week. Where I do bodyweight stuff, run 2 MAYBE 3 times a week and weight lift 1 MAYBE 2 times a week.
We mentioned this 5k to him and he's going to register. Right away he was asking my 5k time, which I don't actually know anymore (I'm hoping it's around 25 or 24 minutes). I didn't want to tell him any time, to me my times are private, that is why I rarely reveal my times even on my page. I just think I don't like comparing myself or other comparing themselves to me. That's my opinion. I would never want to put anyone down and I don't like feeling like I'm slow and not putting enough effort to beat THAT guy. Sometimes seeing others splits motivates me to push harder, then there's other times where I just feel like a turtle compared to some of you guys' times. A lot of you guys a true athletes. Fuck it, we're all athletes just at different levels.
So on this mornings run I tried to incorporate some Fartlek. I noticed that I have lost some fitness even from a few months ago. I hate running fast, but I know it's a necessary evil if I want to reduces my split times. We'll see what comes of this plan.
I'm planning on adding a run day to my 2 day a week run. This one will be a shorter 3 miler at my fastest possible pace without hitting my threshhold. I figure 1/2 mile warm up and pick it up from there.
Short (fast) run planned for Thursday afterwork and a morning 7 on Friday.
