Oh my god I'm drawing the LB AU again its a miracle

Akari: wants to do protag things Adaman: you nearly died right before my eyes not happening :)

TLDR: Adaman and Ingo put Akari under constant supervision after an incident with Volo and Akari isn't happy about it.

SO, STORY POINT: During a meeting post a confrontation that Akari has with Volo, the man in question manages to sneak up on her and the group she's with (Adaman, Ingo, Rei and Melli) and attacks Akari, nearly killing her because her boon wasn't activated. Adaman - in a desperate last-ditch attempt to save Akari gets a rather speical boon from Dialga (a Rare Case, Dialga calls it) and reverses time for him, giving him the ability to prevent Volo from attacking her and sending him on the run. Akari is put under "house arrest" aka someone has to be with her at all times - usually Adaman - while Volo is out on the run. Everyone is shaken up by it but Akari, who wants to stop Volo herself.

She's not having fun. TBH neither is Adaman, he's just better at hiding how on-edge he currently is.

Legendary Boon AU - Shared Dreams/The Dreamscape

An explanation and broad overview of Akari and Emmet’s shared dreamscape

Akari starts having strange dreams after meeting Ingo

They always start the same.

She is in black space, surrounded by oblique, colorful shapes. In the first dream, she is drawn to a particular symbol, a triangle encased in a circle, and upon touching it, she is transported into a vast green space, with a train station that is always arriving when she gets there.

Out of the single train car, comes a man who looks very, very familiar, despite his well-kept hair and his stark, white clothes.

Upon looking at her - which causes her to see the white marks on his face and his bright blue eyes - he immediately knows that she has a boon and assumes she has a dream-walking boon (Which is not technically untrue) and greets her. She calls him Ingo, which catches him off guard and changes the weather in the dream for but a moment before Emmet recovers and corrects her.

Upon learning that she doesn’t even know why she has a boon he is concerned, and warns her that she needs to figure out who gave her this boon, as the legendary is extremely important to the blessed.

She’s clearly confused and uneducated on the topic, and Emmet decides that he’s just gonna be her teacher about it!

And that is where the first dream ends.

Every subsequent dream, she chooses that symbol to meet with Emmet again, and he begins to teach her about the history of boons and how they have been used - using his families long history of Boons as an example. Eventually they both put together that they are from different time periods, and Akari’s amnesia comes up. Emmet brings up Ingo, and he finally - *finally* knows where his brother is, and is happy that he has someone like Akari keeping his brother company. They also deduce who her legendary is with a combination of Akari’s recollection of her abilities and Emmet’s present-day research.

Emmet only ever learns about Akari’s hardships in the aftermath, and her struggles become further motivation for him to find a way to the past to help both her and his brother. This gets pumped into hyperdrive when Akari accidentally calls Ingo “Dad” and Emmet’s boon keys him into just how true that name is for her.

He’s gotta actually, formally meet his niece, dangit!!!

HOW IT WORKS

Okay this is the kinda sorta convoluted part - Akari gets limited foresight and omniscience. And, particularly in the early days of her boon’s abilities, she has no control over whether or not they activate in her sleep, and the omniscience in her sleep leads to inadvertent dreamwalking through space-time. This is why she ends up in the black space - its the thin place between time and space, and she uses this place to find and enter Emmet’s dreams.

They don’t see each other every night, but its frequent enough that Emmet starts to know when he’s about to meet Akari - his dreams always start with him in a single car train driven by nothing but momentum. He is always seated in a two-seater, but the seat by the window is empty.

The dreams never last more than an hour or so, and Akari always wakes up from the dream even more tired than when she went to bed.

MISC NOTES:

- Emmet is always in the same thing - a rather simple but elegant outfit inspired by Reshiram - showing his deep connection to his boon

- Akari’s outfit changes as she get to know her boon better and comes to understand it - starting with a plain white shirt and pants and eventually evolving into come cool magical girl looking stuff (forthcoming i promise)

- Akari learns very quickly that you cannot lie to Emmet, and never actually does (she attempts a half truth and Emmet does not appreciate it)

- Emmet tells Elesa all about these dreams, but hesitates to tell Drayden

- Akari doesn’t tell anyone about these dreams until its a bit too late (spoilers)

Behold - Ingo and Emmet’s Boons in the Legendary Boon AU!

Ingo and Emmet are the two who have had their boons the longest in the AU by a very substantial margin. They have, for all intents and purposes, mastered them, and are very adept to how boons work due to [Major spoilers that I will discuss once the AU plot has been fully sorted]

Due to Ingo’s amnesia, he does not have full access to his boons power until later in the narrative - right before the Red Sky. He gets hints of them however: His eyes still glow, dimly, and his night vision is better than most. He has ‘feelings’ around other people that make him like/dislike them and he’s always correct in those feelings. And lastly, he is *always* just a little static-y

Meanwhile, without Ingo around, Emmet has been using his boon almost constantly, trying desperately for any leads as to where his brother is. His desperate desire to find the truth about his brother’s whereabouts draws Akari in through dreams (inadvertently using her omniscience boon) to find him and he uses his in depth knowledge to help teach her.

Woo! More people with their boons!

Adaman with Dialga and Irida with Palkia, as well as Rei with the smaller boons of Uxie, Azelf and Mesprit (unlike other legendary pokemon, whose boons often gift the user with 2 to 3 abilities, the lake legendary pokemon only offer one boon each)

Rei gets his own B plot concerning visiting the lakes on the behest of Laventon (for Mesprit and Azelf) and going with Ingo to Uxie, where he uses the pokemon’s Boon to recover Ingo’s memory

Both Adaman and Irida get their boons during/after the Red Sky Debacle, and once things simmer down its interesting to see how they use the powers bestowed upon them by the “gods” they worship.

Big Bro Adaman is severely underused in this fandom - he exudes that energy and I am using it to its full potential in this AU - especially after he is gifted his boon and shit really starts to hit the fan

At last! the clan leaders and their boons!

Adman and Irida get their boons rather late into the narrative - not until the red sky incident, where They get to speak to their respective deities and are gifted boons for their devotion.

Adaman finds his abilities to be very assistive, and it excited for the future of his time as the clan leader with this explicit blessing from his almighty. His ability over his boons are as they are supposed to be - extremely intuitive. His time manipulation takes a few tries to get right.

Irida, on the other hand, sees them as a burden she has been given to bear, rather than a gift at first, which makes her control over them a bit wonky (the teleportation especially is tricky). But after spending time with Akari, who is also still learning to control her boons more solidly, she sees that acceptance of them as a gift is key - they end up helping each other.

Also, since they are the only ones that can telepathically speak, they now get in completely silent arguments. The face journeys are hilarious and legendary in their own right

At last! The Bastard has Been Spotted!!!

Volo is the primary antagonist of this AU, starting all the way at the beginning, and only becoming more prominent, prevalent, and persistent as the story continues

On a funnier note, he’s so unbelievably self confident that he makes several, hilariously awful mistakes that seal his fate, so that's nice at least.

Volo is working with Giratina in order to locate Arceus - that is the covenant that gifted Volo is boon. Giratina thinks that it is to fully free Giratina from the grasp of the distortion realm. Volo is explicitly using Giratina for his own ends with no intention of freeing the being (Don’t worry. This bites him in the ass :) )

When Akari shows up, he has never seen a boon like hers, and keeps a close eye on her under the guise of being her friend. But, despite many weeks, he cannot figure out where her boon is from. This is the second time he’s been completely stumped by a boon (the first time being Ingo) and its been very annoying for him.

In order to keep Akari from getting “Too comfortable” for his tastes, anytime he is in Jubilife, he manages to weasel his way into Kamados office to talk to him, and plants seeds of doubt and suspicion of the sky-faller. It works way better than he could have imagined 

But, one day, while in the Highlands... he witnesses one of Akari’s boons in action.

He sees her die, and come back to life in the same minute.

And in that moment, he knows - because only one Pokemon can grant such a gift.

and he is fucking furious

Thus, a chaotic plan with one, fatal flaw is put into motion

and it all falls apart from there

Eyyy it’s the boy!

Rei gets a whole-ass B plot and side quests in the Legendary Boon AU that take up a solid part of the second act, with all of these boons ending up being verrrrrry helpful in the narrative at certain points!

One of Laventon’s main points of research besides his more direct Pokemon research is on Boons and which Pokemon can grant them. Rei is the one in charge of that field work - both searching and recording - while Akari is focused on the PokeDex. Rei is very proud of this work!

Laventon tasks him with researching the three lakes and their respective pokemon after hearing Adaman and Irida talk about them. Rei takes it very seriously

The first boon he receives is Azelf’s. The “willpower” Pokemon gives a burst of “confidence” to its blessed - a blessing that Rei takes full advantage of during the Red Sky affair, and a few other situations. (This one can get used to comedic effect and... ngl its pretty funny)

Mesprit was next, and this boon is the easiest to abuse and use incorrectly... He did however get to use it to help Akari to help others understand the depth of her emotions. This also comes in handy in helping the Professor, but thats a biiit of a spoiler :)

Uxie’s is the most plot-relevant of the boons, with Rei’s use of this power being the direct cause of Ingo’s memory recovery. Ingo is actually right there with Rei, as Volo informed Ingo of the legendary’s supposed blessing and pointed him in Rei’s direction. This is the beginning of when shit seriously hits the fan for this AU, and it wouldn’t happen without Rei

Now... Rei *does* get one more boon.... but.. that’s a surprise :)c

Legendary Boon AU: Learning of the Boons - The First

Warning:: Mentions of blood - its mild, but be wary

The first person to learn about Akari’s boons, technically, is Laventon.

It’s quite sudden, with Laventon braving the fieldlands after hearing something quite distressing, and finding his young ward coughing up blood, delirious and barely coherent, muttering something about a very aggressive shinx that headbutt her so hard it broke ribs. 

Laventon is very understandably distressed at this, and begs to take her back to the camp, but in her delirium she begs him not to, that she’ll be fine, she just needs to wait.

Completely baffled by this response, he sees the color of her eyes change, and the marks appear on her face. She gasps, nearly choking on the blood in her mouth before spitting it out and slumping over, the glowing now gone.

Laventon is -once again, understandably - even MORE distressed, and sees that she is breathing. He calls for Rei, and finds himself lieing to the boy - it was clear that Akari did not want anyone to see what he saw. That she has a boon, a clearly powerful one.

Rei assists him in returning her to the camp, and she wakes up. Laventon, one again, lies. He realizes that she must be keeping this secret for a reason.

He trusts that one day, soon, she will feel that she can tell him. Until then, he will remain patient.

The first one to see her boons in action - with no knowledge that boons are even possible... is Melli.

It was by sheer chance.

Akari was near Electrodes seat, doing research on the sneasels nearby. He was on his way to grab some of his beloved lord’s favorite snacks, when he heard

“Snee!”

Seeing the Galaxy brat off in the distance, he felt the need to scold her for being so loud - marching over - until he froze in place.

She hadn’t spotted him, but he sat her eyes, and the marks on her face.

At first he thought she was mimicking the Sneasels, but - apparently - she was conversing with them.

The little squeaks were clearly conversational, she was being understood.

Completely confused and caught off guard, Melli quickly let before he could be spotted, baffled and bewildered - coming to a rather understandable conclusion rather quickly

Perhaps - just perhaps! - that noodle was blessed by the Almightly Sinnoh themselves.

Ugh, did that mean he had to like her now???
