something i've been thinking about since i've been playing lbp psp..but CAN SOMEONE PLEASE REDESIGN THE PSP CREATOR CURATORS?????
like i know the game was not *trying* to be racist but.. to say the least it's outdated considering it was a game released around 2009. Don't get me wrong, outside of that and some hardware limitations it's a decent game for a lbp spinoff for it's time. to my knowledge and from some research i did, only the director and clock hans don't have this problem.. but the rest do?
but again, i would love for people to redesign these characters so they don't come off as culturally insensitive and outdated.
The Imagisphere Cracks in Two.
I've just come up with a brilliant idea.
So, for my LBP AU that attempts to build on the world of LittleBigPlanet and make it actually somewhat make sense, I've had the trouble of what exactly life is in this universe.
Is it biological? Artificial? Are they dead humans? This question I had to raise several times because otherwise the world just doesn't work and there would be major flaws in some parts.
I've already come up with an answer for what life is, and I've pinned it down to animated and exaggerated human personalities from the Orb of Dreamers. This calls back to the LBP1 intro which explains that thoughts and ideas from humans form things in the Imagisphere.
While I figured that one out, I still had the trouble of how life actually starts. I was obviously never going to choose the birds and the bees story, because ew gross sex and it also doesn't make sense when you think about Sackpeople. They are litterally stuffed dolls what could I possibly do there.
But then I had an idea, what more is having a family than creating a family?
So, here's my explanation for the whole birth and children situation in LBP.
The parents physically have to build their children.
Yes! That solves the problem of them all being not necessarily biological but more pseudo-artificial and crafted from materials discovered by humans.
It also makes so many opportunities in that having a family would be much more of a commitment than for humans, and it could fit into how the parents would be protective and loving of their children because they are literally and metaphorically created and molded by the parents.
This method of thinking also means that people can reproduce asexually, which fixes that issue, and means that literally anyone wanting a child could just knit one together and have it come to life the next morning!
And the theme of creation, a theme so evident in LBP, fits perfectly into this whole idea in that your family is a creative work, and one that you care deeply for!
And it also fixes the issue of how several different types of people can exist, from people like Clive, Don Doubtworthy, Avalon, Eve, Da Vinci, Victoria, and literally any other character, because their parents just created them like that!
And then, when the parents are ready, a human idea will float down and give the creation life, attaching a human to the creation and giving it the personality of that human! OH, IT WORKS SO WELL!
And also maybe the human personalities that get put into the children are reflective of a family that has the same structure of the one in the Imagisphere but that's not exactly finalised.
What do you think about this idea?
Did I cook or did I food poison you?
I feel like people should know about this.
