I never thought I'd see Opal describe Bede as "cool as a cucumber" but here we are
And that’s where the episode ends!
(Raihan just inhaling the cake too. Mood.)
“Our name isn’t without teeth, and I want it in the mouths of every murderer, thief, rapist, raider, and slaver this side of the Commonwealth. The Opal Company will be synonymous with compassion to those we love as much as it will be to fear for those who terrorize.”
Here’s a, more or less, formal introduction to my OC, Opal! She’s the leader and sole founder of an all female mercenary group known as the Opal Company; they take various contracts in return for trustworthy allies, favors or services, and needed goods and supplies, although they won’t say ‘no’ to caps as payment! These badass ladies can commonly be found scouting the roads between smaller settlements that end up being forgotten by other factions (in favor of the roads to bigger cities) and putting a lock on local threats and crime.
About Leader Opal:
she’s 47 years old
she’s blind, and it’s unknown if she was born that way or if this ‘disability’ occurred later on in her life
unlike the other ladies in the Company, Opal is her real name
her personality is rather matronly--she’s compassionate and kindhearted but not above blatantly punishing those who have done her, her ladies, or the Company wrong
she spends a lot of time in their compound and only goes outside at night, or at least a lot more often in the day during Spring
she’s probably the cleanest/most well kempt member of the team
Opal believes that it’s near impossible to achieve liberation from the various terrors in the Commonwealth, so the point of the Opal Company is not to change the Commonwealth on a large scale, but to make it more bearable for others; so that they have the chance to build the life they want to live, and to create solidarity amongst those that have been ‘forgotten’ or termed ‘undeserving’ by the larger factions
behind her lies a long, mysterious, and violent past that she never talks about
she was born in the north-west, just over the Canadian border into Vancouver! how she ended up on the opposing coast is unknown...
a man from her past frequently terrorizes her and her group to this day but the mercenaries are unsure of who he is or what his connection is to Opal. Terminating him has also been an extremely trying task
Aww, Bede, are you embarrassed that you almost let slip that you care about someone? 😏
Too full of whipped cream to continue fighting, it seems :”D
Opal rules thru fear. :”D
Special mention to how these two get their Alcremie partners. (Also, Raihan trying to bail only for Opal to tell him off,)
The boys walking together after the Alcremie bake off! ☺️
