leagues vi: demonic pacts

i have a lot to say. i think jagex missed the mark on this one and im devastated

leagues v was the most fun ive ever had. i went desert, fremmy, tirannwn and had 6-4 melee/ranged masteries. i could run 2 tick melee with crystal and then swap to 3 tick bowfa when necessary. zombie axe wasnt that far off dps wise vs scythe, but the scythe pull was a huge get. 2t crystal scythe my beloved. i had taken bankers note and last stand relics. this was my plan for the entire league and i followed it through and it was incredibly laid back. bankers note opened up a lot of skilling and pvm, last stand made high level pvm and clutch situations way more forgiving. i was strong enough on my own to carry 500 invo toa and i brought everyone along for all their purples it was a blast. another thing that leagues v had was last recall as a passive which helped pretty much everything preface: i had already not played osrs for 127 days as of the monday before launch and have been burnt out. i dont want to log in and do an herb run and maybe some cg and then idk nothing. i dont have friends to do anything with. i dont vibe with a lot of content jagex has put out like colosseum is way too hard, doom is hard, yama i dont even wanna know (it seemed hard enough in grid master). varlamore feels contrived. sailing is dead end content. ever since toa came out when jagex completely fucked up the fang drop rate, ive been sort of on the fence/one foot through the door about osrs. it feels poor generally then leagues vi is announced we are starting in varlamore. yama has lit misthalin on fire and we have to start in varlamore. ugh. im already like eh this fucking sucks i dont like varlamore i probably wont play. relics get revealed and im like ehh these are okay im loosely following. then.... the demonic pact tree. the biggest shakeup in progression. last leagues combat masteries were already wild but now we can scale through 40 of 132 pact nodes to build out for combat. theres a tree for each elemental rune, a tree for bows, crossbows, thrown weapons, and a tree for halberd long reach, blindbag, special attack, and thorns. im like oh this seems pretty fucking fun i might actually play this league and suffer through it. they revealed the crystal blessing works with both melee and powered staves, on top of a new powered staff from echo grotesque guardians and so that was my plan going on. my friends are wringing their hands about what is the most dps, trying to figure out whats the best combat situation based on speculation in the leagues discord and im like nah im just gonna get full crystal and my lithic sceptre and blow everyone apart. ill use thorns and water spells to overheal and then reflect so much damage i will be unstoppable

Finally done I think

It was a good run n I could do more but I dont feel like banging out a bunch of tob or doom.

Overall great league but I do think it was a bit too soon and it couldve used more time. blindbag and bows needed more love and the change for all regions to have the same points felt like it flattened a lot of tasks down to be just kinda meh after week one. Relics were phenomenal though. I may have had more fun skilling then pvm
