♥ (14) Does your OC have any romantic traditions?

Bruno hasn’t ever been in a relationship long enough to have formed any long-standing traditions yet. The closest things right now are the dancing lessons that Bruno takes every week with his Hans. He has a plan for Hans’s birthday but who knows if that’ll turn into a tradition!

♥ (22) How often does your OC read romantic literature?

Bruno actually recently finished reading a long-form book series about a femme fatale/train robber that was recommended to him by Dot and Speck. He enjoyed it just fine, especially because his culture regards erotica and romance as art in their own right, but he does have a somewhat difficult time finding stuff that suits his tastes. So the short answer is: Not as often as he’d like!

skin and hands for Sal?

Skin: Sal has a grey-ish olive skin tone (the grey, of course, coming from his orcish parent and the olive tone being standard to a lot of people from the region his family originates from). He doesn’t freckle, but he does tan like heck. He doesn’t usually blush super easily, so when he does you know it’s because he’s super flustered (or drunk). His skin is very soft, which I suppose isn’t super surprising since he’s a part of a noble family, except for his hands which are calloused from playing instruments and from getting cracked on the hands while learning swordfighting (his teacher was a dick). He is warm and comfy. Also, I’ve mentioned, he has scarification on his shoulders/back and on his left upper arm.

Hands: As I mentioned above, his hands are the roughest part of him. His fingers are calloused from playing stringed instruments, and a few of his knuckles are extra knotted from being broken during sword-fighting lessons. His hands are large with thick, but surprisingly dextrous, fingers. His hands are usually dry. He keeps his nails painted, usually black.

Here at the bottom of the endless canyon not even the sun reaches. That’s what they kept telling you and your companions before you made the journey. Still, you had assured your sister, promised her even, that you would go retrieve the flower that would heal her son.

How could you say no to those tear filled eyes? You can’t, honestly. So here you are in the dark depths of the canyon looking for a flower that’s supposed to glow a dull luminous blue with your friends who refused to let you go alone.

You reach the bottom and find the blue glow. You approach, but it turns out that the glow is from some manner of beast that uses light to lure in prey! Roll Initiative.

The battle is fierce and you realize that the glowing bob on the beast’s head IS a flower. Lucky you.

4 and 10 for Yew

4. Would you rewrite your muse’s backstory? If so, how?

hmmmm. I don’t think I’d really rewrite much of it. Most of the details really came about after the basic tone I wanted with Yew was established, so it all fits together pretty nicely and I’m happy with it. Yew probably isn’t. But that’s his problem. 

10. In what ways has your muse’s backstory shaped them as a person?

All the ways basically. I mentioned it briefly in-game once, something along the lines of “people haven’t always been good to him”, but what happened to him when he was younger entirely shaped how he feels about and interacts with most people. It’s also caused him to have a lot of anxiety and confidence issues and a touch of self loathing (well, maybe more than a touch. but that’s to be seen). I don’t want to get too into it yet? Since I think it might come up soonish. Or I might have it come up soonish. I actually wrote up a thing of Yew kind of having a breakdown, but it has to stay a secret for now.

mimic for Yoel and beholder for Yew?

Mimic: What are your character’s short term goals? What about long term?

Yoel’s short term goal is to figure out what’s up with that cult. And avoid evil goatmen forever. Yeol doesn’t have a whole lot of long term goals. Mostly to travel and see as much of the world as possible and to try and keep things interesting. Which so far so good. 

Beholder: Who does your character look up to?

Hmmmm. In some ways, Yew looks up to the rest of the party, since from his perspective they seem to know more of what they’re actually doing. But in the more traditional sense, probably Silas? In the short time they worked together, Silas seemed like a pretty good (if a little scattered) mentor. Hopefully he’s still around when everyone gets back to Riket.

12. What’s their favorite beverage?

Water. If it has to be alcoholic, then cider. Though Yew is pro-milk. So. 

29. Biggest positive and negative influences on their life and development?

Well, I think Yew gets his willingness to help from his mother. I think. Other positive influences are probably the party so far? It’s been encouraging for him to travel with other people. And maybe get better at people-ing.  

He has a whole lot of negative influences. Living alone in the woods. Thorn. Evil spooky fey patron. Thorn. Not to mention he’s not great at handling guilt and anxieties. Also Thorn. Mostly Thorn.
